So, uh, I figured out the entire timeline by accident after DMC5 was released, since it takes place in 2019, and Nero is 24, we can extrapolate that he was born in 1995, meaning that this was also the year DMC 3 took place. Doing the next bit of math puts the twins at being born in 1976, and Lady/Mary being born 3 years later in '79. Then in '84 the first Red Grave Attack happened, and Eva dies trying to find Vergil. Which then means that DMC1 takes place in 2004, 20 years later. Taking Patty Lowell's age in DMC5 into account, the Anime takes place in 2009, when Patty was 8 years old. DMC2 takes place somewhere in the next five years, but there's no way of pinpointing this game in the timeline as there are no key dates or chronological events mentioned, then in 2014 DMC4 happens.
@Maria Flores the game was supposed to be set in 2018, the original predicted release date, in fact the weather in the game exactly matches that of European weather that day. The game got delayed, so the game took place in the year of it’s release. 2019. Even if I’m wrong and it’s supposed to be 2018 like originally intended, well then you just take a year off all the dates and I’m still right Edit: Also, I’d like to remind you that nowhere in DMC3 did the game ever *actually* say Lady’s age. We get that from the manual that came with the game. The same goes for Nero’s age in 4. It’s never flat out stated in game, but is in the booklet
@Maria Flores you’re the one telling me they never tell us when the game takes place. Not my fault if you worded it like absolute ass. Not everything has to be said IN the game. Just cause it’s in the manual doesn’t mean it’s not canon. Like how Nero got the injury that caused Devil Bringer to manifest. It’s mentioned in the booklet. But they never mention it in game other than Nero’s auditory flashback and Kyrie talking about Nero’s injury
-Kamiya said that Dante ages like a human when in human form, but doesn't age in demon form. He just chooses to live like a human. -BD and AD mean Before Dante and After Dante. It's based around Dante's birth; I'm obviously not saying the series is set during Jesus' lifetime.
It isn't clear if DMC2 takes place before or after DMC5. if DMC2 takes place after DMC5 it means Dante won't die in the story. if it takes place before then DMC5 might be an interesting game since its going to be the last game of the Sparda bloodline.
or it could stand for Vietiful Joe :p Nah kidding. V is used because he has no name yet and that was also mentioned in the song in combination with the previous games. He's probably a new character we haven't seen in the Universe before. It could be Ladys son since she got rid of her name as well :p
mmmm....but whats dante's age in DMC? if he said that dmc 3 dante is a teen, in dmc he is what? a kid? if you ask for this then this guy theory is wrong af
Actually... It does kinda make sense for Vergil to have a kid. No one said anything about it being romance. Nero was also practically orphaned. Vergil was obsessed with becoming *exactly* like Sparda, as shown in DMC3:DA. Dante is cool with being his own man, but from the way he dresses (when looking at the Sparda costumes) to sticking with his sword and embracing his demonic heritage, and wanting his power, Vergil wanted to be Sparda. The problem is, neither of them really knew that much about their dad. Dante chose to become his own man, honoring his entire family. Vergil chose to scour the planet trying to find any traces of Sparda he could. He gets to Fortuna, a place that worships Sparda as a god. Vergil doesn't hate humanity. He just chooses his own demonic heritage over his humanity. So these humans that worship his father are right up his alley. Of course he reveals he's a Son of Sparda. It's practically on his business cards. Of course that cult will throw women at him. Again, it doesn't need to be a romance. Vergil just thinks, there's one thing his father did that he's yet to do. Something he's living proof of. He sires an heir. Even if there was romance involved, it's not really out of character. It's not like Vergil is this unfeeling death machine. He loves his brother. He loved his mother. He even shows a degree of patience and slight understanding with Lady. It's all there in DMC3, especially the Special Edition. His quest to be like his father is born from his desire of power. It isn't power for power's sake either. He was visiting a grave and was attacked and left for dead. His mom was killed. He thought he brother was killed. It was strongly hinted in DMC1 and 3 that they were a happy family prior to Sparda's death and subsequent attack on their home. Dante and Vergil got along. Now Vergil was left in the world alone, thinking he had no family left and the only other person like him dead. He needed the power to make sure it didn't happen again. That became an obsession. Yet and still, he never wanted to kill Dante. He wanted his half of the amulet. He wanted to unlock Sparda's power. He talked to him, tried to get him to understand. You could say he felt Dante was on the wrong path and doomed to perish. Yet, in the end, when Dante won, he saw he was wrong and locked himself away in the demon world, preventing Dante from saving him, and taking his half of the amulet. Dante finally admitted his pride in being a Son of Sparda in that final battle, and saying he needed to stop Vergil, as opposed to first saying he didn't have a father in the first one. Vergil realized that Dante was being a better legacy than himself in upholding what their father did. So, he made the ultimate sacrifice just as Sparda did. He took his half to make sure no one else could open another portal, because it wasn't a demon that did it. It was a human trying to become a demon. Bringing a child in the world doesn't necessarily mean romance, a loving relationship and all that goodness. It means sex and a sperm getting in that egg. I mean damn. Sparda was Mundus's right hand man, conquered all of the demon world with them, then waged a one man war against them all, and locked them away, just for that human booty. You trying to tell me a half demon/half human doesn't have those urges? You think Vergil was a virgin? Pffft... please.
you bet Virgil tapped some ass, the first chance he got. All the shit he went through and having to fight demons all the time.... a cambion needs to relieve some stress.
it makes more sense actually. Dante is all gloomy and depressed in 2, while in 4 he had some life to him (like in three). And he looks way older in 4, than in 2
@@Tkokat especially since his extreme depression in 2 could be seen as him being morose that Patty no longer needs him around, sure 5 ends up showing she still talks to him, but he was basically her guardian during the months that the anime takes place in. Whether he wanted to or not, he developed a strong bond with Patty, to the point that it was *her* that managed to wake him up in the final battle of the anime. So in 2 he’s moody and grumpy because he’s once again without a set purpose. Hell even at the beginning of 4 I noticed that Dante was far less talkative, and borderline scary as he executes Sanctus. He’s silent, and his attacks against the Knights are far more brutal and cruel than his usual style. There’s no flare or dramatics, just pure efficient slaughter. It’s as he fights Nero, and starts to suspect his blood relation to Sparda that he loosens up. He starts to joke around a little. Starts poking the bear, as usual. But it seems to take Dante seeing Nero wield Yamato for the classic quippy Dante from 1 (with some of the cockiness of 19 year old Dante) to fully return. It basically took him having irrefutable proof that he still had some family left to get back in the groove. (And whilst you might say “but he was quipping at the shop before Trish took the Sparda” I can explain that. Dante’s very good at hiding his depression from his friends. Less so with Patty because she saw right through the act in the Anime)
I personally think Dante is older than he actually looks and is. Personally, I think the demon world and demonic heritage changes things. But maybe that's just me.
Reku Heims Now I cannot unsee what you have just said. There needs to be a topless costume for Lady, Kyrie, Virgil, Lucia, and everyone else involved with Devil May Cry!!!!
Yeah they are for sure very close together. When Marvel vs Capcom 3 added Dante of Trish to the game, Trish' victory quote vs Dante is "Now we know who wears the pants in the relationship" implaying that they are in fact together. Then we have the DMC anime when Trish decides to hunt demons alone. When she visits Dante he ask her to stay and when she says that she wants to travel around the world for a bit Dante says "Take care of yourself alright?" and Trish replayes "You too baby" in a romantic way. Earlier Trish makes fun of Lady by saying that she might be jealous of her relationship with Dante. Then again we have Dante's and Trish other video game appearances such as viewtiful Joe etc. Hideki Kamiya - The creator of DMC when asked if Trish was intended to be Dante's love interest in DMC 1 he says " No. She is more than that." Implying that she is in fact THE one/ Dante's soulmate. And besides Dante doesn't see Trish as his mom which is proven again in the anime when Trish is concerned about Dante's healthcare "Please don't talk to me like you're my mom, you're not the maternal type" or even in DMC 1 "You might look like her but you're not"
Vader: Now you two can rule the world as father and son! Vergil: I don't need deadweight to rule the world. Now the world shall know this devil's POWER Vader: Understandable, have a nice day.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the ending of that DMC5:SE Vergil intro scene, where they make a very obvious point to show a woman turning and smiling at Vergil as he walks past. It was way too specific to not be hinting at something.
You could theorize that Vergil gathered information regarding the Order of the Sword from that woman since what he's done in Fortuna is made unclear. And then they fucked.
What I have heard the whole time: Dante was 19 when he saved the world by killing a lot of oversized demons and in an epic battle defeating his brother and opened his own shop. And what have I acomplished at the age of 18, nearly 19? Well.... watched a lot of time consuming videos on youtube....
Dante ain't real lol now i would understand if you had compared yourself to a young Mike Tyson who at age 19 or 20 got the heavyweight championship title.
This video is well thought out, but oh so painful. Since very quickly after the reboot, Itsuno retconned the timeline so that 2 came before 4. Since DMC5 happens 5 years after the Fortuna incident, Dante is only 43.
@@HELLO_KORO very close, but that would imply that Vergil had Nero at 16 years old, and I'm retry sure he'd of at least learnt about Nero in the 3 years that would've passed between then and DMC 3.
True but the scene when Lucia heard the bike it didn't actually show Dante coming in or out or whatever , it just show Lucia running out of the office that's all we don't know it might be Trish or lady's bike because they didn't actually show what is happening after that hey it's just a theory don't get into it much XD
Dmc2 is hated a lot, but it atleast portrayed the image, the fate of Sparda. As his father before him had slain a demon and to seal the gate from the world. However like we always imagined Sparda to return, it should also emphasize that Sparda vanished, and the only clue was that he was afraid of what he'd become. You've never seen fear in Dante but as well you've seen him just simply hand down the power he can possess. Meaning the very power Sparda had was sacred, therefor like he handed the Sparda to Trish and to let Nero keep the Yamato, it also shows he gives credibility to those around him, you'd really expect Dante to be the hero and possess the Sparda until the end of the series. But in the end for Dante to even accept his father's past he will have to accept his own fate.
vincent eby that's what happens when a team does not really understand what the focus should be. DMC2 had some good ideas(styles and styles all in one button setup, more open ended and varied locations, customization of the playstyle thanks to items later much better used in bayonetta), but bad development. I would like a remake of DMC2 actually, with better direction. I am not sure though that Capcom would know what to do with the title.
If we assume Dante ages far more slowly than normal humans and can become like 500 years old, then why does he look like he's 19... when he's 19? And why does he pretty much look like he's in his thirties in DMC4? If he ages slowly, shouldn't he look more like 20 or something in DMC4? Maybe even younger? Or does his slowed physical aging only kick in from a certain age? As in, his rate of aging is not consistently the same over the course of his life?
I actually never understood why people said this. Demon blood with Human blood means that he keeps super speed, super strength, near invincibility and devil mode but he'll kick the bucket naturally in 100 years? I think it's likely he'll live for hundreds of years, but we're only seeing his year life.
Honestly I imagined DMC2 to take place much later than that, and since he's not fully human I don't think it's unreasonable to assume he'd age a lot slower. With the progression of technology and him almost entirely forgetting his past, I always assumed he was somewhere in his 80s or 90s at that point.
I have to admit, when I first saw how similar this was to GT I was worried and a bit offended but I'm glad I watched it because you did quite a good job on the visuals and the actual theory itself. You put a lot of work into this and it shows. If nothing else I think MatPat would be very impressed. Also, I'm glad that you also added disclaimers ahead of time in the title and annotation as well as talking about GT and what they do at the end of the video. I really appreciate that and hope that creating this video lends itself well to your original video editing skills! Ronnie really does have a lot to do when it comes to visuals, timing, and pace. Thanks for doing your part to avoid plagiarism. Although I don't think another video in this style is warranted, I really enjoyed the theory itself and the wisecracks made along the way! Although your delivery is very underplayed compared to MatPat's I could hear the variations in tone, kudos to a good script as well. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for your compliments. Quite a few people have written the whole thing off because it's in GT's style, so I appreciate your willingness to stick through and watch the whole thing. I relaly do have a greater appreciation for the GT editors after making this because it was tough. I used this video is a psuedo-pilot for my current show, which still work out timelines but without the Game theory theme.I don't know if that would interest you or not, but here's the link, all the same: th-cam.com/play/PLD5aSrsU_m4Mc3dS4hjn9dSD_M804eol-.html Once again, thank you for giving me a chance to impress you.
Thanks for the offer! Part of why I like GT is because they de-mystify some of the things we wonder about in games and movies; things that are right in front of our faces sometimes, so I'd be willing to check it out. I'm curious to see your unique style is as well. :)
***** No, it isn't. There is no Devil May Cry 5. You're thinking of that crappy reboot called "DmC: Devil May Cry" That is not Devil May Cry 5. They aren't even the same character. In that game, "dante" is a nephilim, instead of a human/demon hybrid. In addition to a ton of other inconsistencies with the previous games, the characters are nothing like the original counterparts.
Ayano Hadashi, I saw all the previews and play throughs of the reboot... on youtube, and the lot. I did NOT even give the game a chance... and this is coming from a die hard Devil May Cry fan. Just to be clear, I am not arguing with you. I am agreeing whole heartedly with you.
I burst out laughing at the BD/AD annotation. This was super entertaining and, while 19/28 seemed to be the accepted DMC3/1 age long before this video, it was really nice to see it well thought out. Great stuff, hope you'll do more in the future!
No the first time I played the game I was like "wait... you mean they aren't going to hug an make up or something? NOOOOO I LIKE VERGIL!!" When he stayed behind I was sadder than the crying Pikachu meme.
one day. one day all the fans of Devil May Cry will get a sequel. i dont want a reboot as much as i liked it (ya i like the reboot, srry) but i want the original back.
You did a great job without doubt. IMO - 8-9 years old when Eva died. - 17-18 in the DMC3 manga (takes place 1 year before DMC3). - 19 in DMC3 ("Confirmed" by Langdon in an interview). - 29 in DMC1 (Confirmed by Hideki Kamiya). - 30 in Anime (Takes place 1 year after DMC1). - 31 in Drama CD? - Early 30s in DMC4 (Confirmed by Kobayashi). Also Kobayshi stated that Nero's age was the same as Dante in DMC3. I think that 10 year old gap beteween 1-4 is too much and Kobayashi said that 4 takes place over 10 years after 3. PS: The english translation in Vergil's intro for SE is mistranslated. Japanese and other versions stated "A decade ago".
dude fml i've been playing DmC since i was 7 and i go back to watch the anime for the nostalgia and just so stumbled upon this vid, and i gotta say this is straight up fire man glad to see some peeps with mad love for one of my most cherished games. Very entertaining vid bro keep it up u got my sub!
Hi! I know this is a weird one to suggest this on since the video is Six years old. But it was obvious Ninja Theory at least expected a sequel. Maybe a video on what a DMC: Devil May Cry 2 would look like
I'm not sure why the whole deal with age of consent really matters towards Vergil and Dante's ages. It's not like Vergil would care. Seems likely to me that he could've been 16 or 17 in the manga, then 17 or 18 in DMC3.
First off, don't rip off Game Theory. Secondly, from what I understand Virgil's whole reason for seeking power is because people he cared for were killed. Here's mine: Death of Eva; age 8 Birth of Nero; age 16-17 Devil may cry 3 manga; age 18 Devil may cry 3; age 19 Devil may cry 1; age 26-28 Devil may cry anime; age 28-29 Devil may cry 4; age 35-37 (making Nero around 20) Devil may cry 2; age 41-42 I'm also pretty sure that Fortuna is set in Europe and not America meaning that the age of consent may be lower. Also, Nero is an orphan who never knew his mother or father. My theory is that Virgil settled down with a human woman and shortly after their son was born demons attacked killing the mother and presumably the baby (of course we know the truth), Virgil was distraught and he sought power so that he would never lose anyone again. But hey, that's just a theory, a convoluted theory.
I always thought that Nero was Vergil reborn and his Devil bringer arm was the embodiment of his demonic half, try to bring Nero to blood and power lust so Vergil can be reborn. And the arm put false memories into Nero's mind. It's silly but that was always my assumption until a couple months ago.
I have my own little theory, don't know if it makes sense or not though lol, what if after Vergil's soul is freed it goes back to the demon world. Think back to dmc4 when the fire beast boss said to Nero that he was just like someone. It could've easily been Sparda, but it would be a little too obvious don't you think? Also it was stated that Nero is Vergil's son but no one was to sure about it. Maybe he fought Vergil(remember Nero has a close connection to the Yamato just like Vergil) in the Demon world, that's if Vergil is still alive or he was ressurected or reincarnated somehow. What if Nero really IS Vergil's son and Vergil is still alive. These are questions I hope Capcom answer if they do make a Devil May Cry 5
No one else has white hair and demon abilities and Dante damn sure doesn't claim Nero as his, in fact his resemblance to Vergil is the only thing that caught Dante's attention. But I'd only hope that intention of design is clear, that the son retains their father's power. Even though the Yamato belonged to Sparda initially, it's only sensible the son will inherit. Thus that clarifies Nero to take the Yamato, and so to speak Dante fulfills that logic in Dmc1 considering he obtained the full power of the Sparda himself.
he same reason people had liked the damsel in distress imagery in numerous stories in history. i don't know what that reason is, but its probably a good one
Well, at least, she did not do some hot shit that infuriated the viewers because she knew her limit and didn't get to shit on your journey more than Peach did (Yeah, the Sunshine's flashback was still there.) She was also not like Kat when the story made her more important while she was EVEN MORE USELESS and a DAMSEL than Kyrie. Kyrie knew her place and a damsel till the end for a role. What I hate the most was that the fall from grace from a character who acted strong but then became a damsel later on.
I'm not sure for your "age" theory but thanks dude you help me a lot with the chronology and the history of the game..it was very difficult for me to understand what is the story behind this game
Thιгδ Σγε Yeah, like Vergil spent his whole life waiting to be exactly 18 so he could hit the clubs in Fortuna. That said, I really like the fact that he had a kid. It ads an extra layer to his character, like, dante never did anything like that.
Christop The illusive Man True. I just hate that it isn't explained how the child came about. Maybe it's better off as a mystery. Now that I think about it, I can't really see him getting all lovey dovey with any regular woman. Maybe he lusted after and procreated with a she-demon during a one night stand ordeal or maybe extracted some of his DNA to be cloned and "reborn again" into a new body.
Thιгδ Σγε Since his mother was just killed and his brother left him, maybe Vergil just gave in and spent a rough night on the town with some women. Perhaps he didn't even know about he got one of them preggers. Maybe Nero is just a crazy by-product from a time before Vergil became a motivated badass, that explains why Nero generally doesn't give a crap in dmc4
So I did a little calculation myself after reading 'before the nightmare' novel. Please correct/clarify if I'm wrong. So when Dante/Vergil were 8 they got attacked and lost their mother, went separated ways, Dante fakes his identity as Tony Redgrave. During the first novel, he's still a teenager, maybe 15-18? DMC3 manga, 18. DMC3, 19. DMC1, 28. Anime, 31-33 DMC 2 novel, 32-33? DMC2, 33 DMC4, 38 Before the nightmare, 43 DMC5, 44yo. It's still pretty blurry when exactly anine sets after the DMC1 tho.
@@The4thSnake Heyyy I just watched your updated video! Im kinda happy that we came to the (almost) same conclusion. I wasn't sure exactly how old Dante was in anime and DMC2, but your updated video answered everything for me. Keep up the great work mate, cheers!
+David Karačić yeah, i think the same, vergil must be still alive, because from the story, he was defeated by mundus and became nelo angelo. He was still alive but he didnt remember everything when he fought dante again. He was became a slave of mundus because somehow mundus give him a magic or sth and vergil became nelo angelo. But, dante had defeated mundus, so vergil should be stucked in demon world right? so in conclusion he maybe still alive,..
so, can we assume that DMC5 might take several years after DMC2? I mean Dante grow beard & has demon-bike which might be something that he obtained from "tour to hell"
Mhmm sorry but Dante is around 29 ~ 30 in DMC 4. The story between 1 and 4 DID NOT take 10 years in between. This interview with DMC 4 Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi is a proof: www.wired.com/2007/10/interview-hiroy/ In this Interview, Kiroyuki stated that "Lady appeared in 3, and now she’s about ten years older than she was in that one." This is a solid proof that the time gap between DMC 3 and DMC 4 is 10 years. In DMC 3, Dante is 19, confirmed. That makes DMC 4 Dante 29 ~ 30, NOT 38. The only reason DMC 4 Dante looks like his late 30s is to give him a more "adult" look to make Nero more of a rookie compared to Dante, also to match the look of Dante's voice actor. Btw, Dante and Nero are twins, so they share the same age, which makes the theory of "Nero is Vergil' son" really messed up because Vergil has to conceive a child by the age of 13/14 in order for that to work (DMC 4 Vergil's age = DMC 4 Dante's age = 29. DMC 4 Nero = 16 at the least. 29 -16 = 13).
+Alien My information about DMC3 and 4 Dante also comes from interviews and makes more sense. If DMC4 was 10 years after 3, then 3 would be just after 1, which leaves no room for the anime and Dante suddenly looks much older out of nowhere. I'm also not completely sure why you used this piece of evidence to disprove my theory before tearing apart the idea you presented and calling it unreasonable with the Nero/Vergil stuff.
+Alien Dante is around his 40´s in DMC4 (imgur(dot)com/Sa7sO94) (page 118 DMC 3.1.4.2 artbook) Dante and Nero arent twins, Dante and Vergil are. LOOL, Vergil doesnt look of 14 years old in DMC4SE.. LOL that is ridiculous. Nero being vergil son has been hinted in the DMC4 game, the DMC4 novel deadly fortune, that capcom employee back in 2009 was the first one who said that, and confirmed by the artbook (imgur(dot)com/2mxivgv page 92 DMC 3.1.4.2 artbook)((imgur(dot)com/13KaKN8(.)jpg (page 104 DMC 3.1.4.2 artbook )) even by the Vergil/dante/nero voice actors : watch?v=DrSAydJm4SY (start at minute 43). so, this theory makes a lot of sense.
DMC4 hinted a lot of things: - What the hell happened when Kyrie was attacked? Who attacked them? - Is Nero human?, half-human?,a devil? - What the hell is the Devil Bringer? Nero's genuine DT?, a "demonic infection" caused by the demon who attacked him? Vergil's soul? - What the hell was that reference that Belial used when he met Nero? Sparda maybe? - How he has the power of Sparda? - The manual from the Collector's edition hinted that he could be even Sparda's reincarnation. The son theory was hinted just in the novels and they're out of canon. About the artbook I wouldn't take it as a reliable source because not even the SE (which was released almost 2 years later) dared to confirm anything, just hinted that Nero's DT shadow is Vergil but nothing more. About the voice actors Reuben and Johnny said that Capcom's intentions "at first" was to make Nero Vergil's son, but that was "at first". So until game confirmation (which is the source material) we have nothing.
バージル DMC Well, Vergil was in fortune decades before DMC4 events, Nero has the sparda blood, He could repair yamato, he has the vergil D.T shadow..etc the artbook its official :/
+jasielstael I edited my last post take a look. I didn't told you that the artbook is not offcial, I told you that I wouldn't count it as a reliable source because it doesn't give you any explanation or official confirmation from for example Itsuno or Kobayashi. PS: The "decades ago" from Vergil's intro in SE is wrong, japanese version stated "10 years ago".
It could be both, honestly. Sparda could've rebelled against the demons and shut the hell gate around 2000 years ago (not exactly 2000, but around that figure). He lived for about 2k years because as a demon, his life is much longer. Then he meets Eva and starts a family. I am still really wondering though what happened to him, because his family went through something horrible and he was not able to be there for them. Sad story. One thing for sure though is that it wasn't his fault it happened. So I assume Sparda must've died from natural causes; since there is no way that Vergil would ever idolize his father if Vergil blamed him for the tragedy.
+Zenix Vampirchik maybe, and i think it would be more cooler if dante finds vergil in the demon world, then nero recognized his father and went out from demon world together :)
Testigo Del Nene Sinclair not being a fan of vergil or sth, but how do u know that vergil died in dmc 1? From the story, his soul flew away after nelo angelo last fight with dante, it doesnt mean that he is dead.
The reason the reboot happened was because the studio cap com got to make the game hated DMC. They thought it was a stupid action game with bad characters and a shit story that held back the medium. So they made the game "Better" but all they did was make it worse. They even changed there Dante to what he was in the game later on because people really didn't like the Dante that was shown in the trailer, and it shows.
That isn't Dante's young self that's a totally different character. That game was as it was called in this and to everyone else a reboot not a prequel. The Dante from dmc 1-4 and the one from the reboot are not the same guy so he never matures into that Dante, they look almost nothing a like anyway. In fact before they made the change, reboot Dante's personality was originally shown to be an quiet, emotionally unstable smoker but was then changed to make him more like the original Dante. There are other things too but I won't bore you with the details unless you really want to hear it.
ShadowJedi the new DmC is the different universe from the original series and it's alternative choice for us to play between original or the reboot....but i am more interested on the reboot one cuz it's looks more modern and all characters looks young and hot.....btw are have any information about DmC reboot will have their series or sequel......
just 1 question you started the time line from 1BD but everything happens in 2000-2015 so its a different universe or a demon starts to getting old about 2000 years of his birth which kills the theory of you saying that everything start from 0. That or I am really stupid to understand
If Lady is 10 years older than DMC 3 in the Anime then what age was she in her debut? Generously assuming a woman would be fully developed by 22 she must have been about 12 in DMC 3...which...doesn't seem likely. So I'm calling it now, she had some surgery done.
Passive aggressively telling him to play the game won't help because nothing suggests he's still alive. He could be, but it's far from confirmed or obvious. As has been said, he exploded and hasn't been seen since. It's fairly safe to assume he's dead until told otherwise
Thank you for showing me that there are light novels and other forms of canon media I can read in this series, thank you, so much. I really do appreciate this :D
This is SO on point with everything I've gathered from years of playing the games. Also, noticed how two relevant males in Kamiya's games were born in 1977? Both Leon Kennedy and Luka Redgrave from Bayonetta (hell, he even looks almost EXACTLY like Dante) have canon year/date of birth in 77... and considering Leon and Dante were the same person at some point and they've looked around the same age in their respective games... Leon's age in RE2 (21, in 1998) is close to DMC3's Dante theorized age, RE4 (happening in 2004) almost aligns with DMC's Dante's theorized age. In RE6 and in the prequel movie RE:Damnation, Leon and DMC4 Dante look of an age again. It's been a while since I assumed Leon and Dante would be the same age... and seems like Kamiya likes 1977 for a year of birth.
+Dank Cat (Jacket) I personally prefer that they do a remake " Devil May Cry 2" and put it on par with the rest of the games in the series and also make Dante look as old as he is
It's because I continued this type of video in my current show, A Line Through Time, jsut without the Game Theory parts. So, this is a kind of prototype for that show. I've covered Sonic, Street Fighter and Metroid, with Tomb Raider coming next month.
i don't even yeah I read it again and research it more and it find its canon, but most of the folks think that Dante is story/universe is over because there nothing powerful enough to kill anymore. They can still use the new Dante and also bring back the old characters in some cross over tho in a future game
I think this is a pretty solid theory. Dante being 19 in 3 seems really fitting because he is not a kid but definitely not mature yet so right at 19 makes sense, and then all the other ones fall into place with the evidence you brought up. The Nero thing I'm kinda eh about in general but I think that even if Virgil really was his father somehow, teenage pregnancies and accidents happen unfortunately, and the mother might have hid it and gave him up so no one knew... though that somehow makes it sound more convoluted haha. Dunno. Good vid either way.
+Marwan Abd El-Ghany IT was more of a tribute than a rip-off, and I do very much intend to drop the Game Theory aesthetic for the proper timeline series I'm starting up. I'll redo this one at some point without the GT stuff; ideally after a DMC5.
The4thSnake man do you think this year in E3 cashcom will announcement DMC5? I'm really don't think that...also I want to ask you something vergil cutscenes in DMC4SE I thought it just canon not in the storyline so that's right or not?
And you think this was the only punk Dante? This was the only Dante that could be a punk and get away with it. He's young af, more powerful than anyone he's met through his life, and knows he's different than everyone else but doesn't know why. Anyone around his age that's seen the shit he has and has the same abilities would be the same. Once he accepted who he is he stopped acting like some emo punk and his character started to develop near the end. Virgil was inferior at the time so how else could he get his plan in motion? People who are weak or desperate will resort to anything if their best opportunity to accomplish their goal is about to vanish. Mundus was a fat bald guy because his vessel was fat and bald but had the resources to pull off Mundus's goal. It's easier to possess the body of an already successful person than it is to posses someone with nothing. Yeah, the Nephilim being the only ones to kill Mundus is corny but I can't say much about it, it's been a while since I played DMC1 so I don't remember if it was possible for him to be killed by an average demon. I know Sparda didn't kill him and Sparda was a bad ass motherfucker in the original series. Idc about Eva, I don't remember anything noteworthy about her other than Trish being hot and apparently Trish looked like her. I agree about Sparda... He was the most bad ass Demon I've seen in the originals and in DmC he's nothing but a picture of a Human. I hated that, he was such a bad ass character.
Fun fact: 90% of the people crying about DmC Devil May Cry haven't played any of the previous games. I really don't get why people cry about the characters. The only problem i had with the game was with that bitch Lillith who served no purpose what so ever.
he goes to the demon world so he can fix all the badass bullshit there. he wanted to attack the heart of the place so demons can stop running and fucking shit up. also I think he also went there in hope to seeing his brother
This is a timeline I've created if DMC was set during out timeline. I spent a little while using a calculator what years each game would chronologically take place in and here it is. My DMC Timeline (1968-2019) Birth of Dante and Vergil - 1968 Eva's Death - 1976 Birth of Nero and Events of the manga - 1986 Events of DMC3 - 1987 Events of DMC1 - 1996 Events of the anime - 1997 Events of DMC4 - 2006 Events of the novel - 2016 Events of DMC2 - 2017 Events of DMC5 - 2019 Dante and Vergil's age in Devil May Cry 5: 51 Their Birth year: 1968 Nero's age in Devil May Cry 5: 31 His Birth year: 1986
I've been trying to figure it out for a looking time. i think this is the best timeline I've ever heard.. how long did it take you to think this up? i can't argue with one thing you said lol
Pretty much came to the same conclusion about the timeline when I tried to figure out Nero's age. I also disregarded that info about Lady, as it completely contradicts what they said about Dante. It'd put DMC4 only one year after DMC1, and the anime somewhere in between them. 10 years between the games just makes more sense. Anyways, great job and thanks for making this video. I'll show this to my friends who don't know the series because it really explains a lot.
+Nej17 Wow. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I might do more like this. Probably DOA/Ninja Gaiden or something. Also planning to do another Did You Know Gaming fanvid as well. Devil May Cry this time.
DMC 3 was my first video game when I finally got a ps2. Needless to say, my fav of the serie. x'D You really put a lot of thoughts into this, I can work with this timeline !
damn. it did get me wondering back then when playing DMC2 then he said sounded like an experienced veteran demon hunter. now i know he was 49 at that time.
For some reason I was always dead confident, that the twins where actually 9 when Eva got killed. Can't honestly remember where I got that from though and it's only a year different from this theory. Also, the ages described seem very plausible so thank you for clarifying the timelines!
DUDE!!! This is amazing!! What a fun video. Amusingly enough, I also came to this conclusion -- Dante's significant life moments happening when his age ended in -8 -- and determined it was 8 (eva's death), 18 (dmc3), 28 (dmc1), 38 (dmc4), though I head canoned 42 for dmc2. I like your theory better though! 49 sounds like a good age for that washed up mellowed out dante.
Dante Age Devil May Cry 3 Manga: 18 Years Old. Devil May Cry 3: 19. He was stated be around 19. Devil May Cry 1: 28. It seemed to several years Devil May Cry Animated Series:29 to 30. It could be a year or 2. Ironically on Episode 8 a Guy Named Ernest recognized Dante and calles him Tony. Even the picture showed him 20 or more years ago Devil May Cry 4: 38
Hello :-) Have just seen your video and I think great. Whether it really is that way you do not know, but it sounds plausible. The question is now. Does Devil May Cry 5 play before DMC2 or after DMC2 and how old is Dante before or after DMC2? With the new bike, you might think he's coming back from hell after DMC2 with a Modified Motorcycle, but from the look of it, he looks more like DMC4. What do you think ?? Greetings Anubis1744
I've also noticed this. It could just be that he has a new look that uses 4 as inspiration or a starting point. I'm guessing it's set about ten years after 4 to tie in to the real world timespan there. Could be after 2, and I hope it is. I want some resolution there and for Lucia to come back.
I hope not that it will be the last part with Dante and you pass on the scepter to Nero, but it looks like it afterwards. His age could be a hint on DMC2. Let's say it's 10 years after DMC4 and Dante is 48 years old. Then it would be good if either something happens that makes him look younger or younger, or the jump from the look and style of Part 4 is slowly adapted to Part 2. I really like his outfit in DMC1 and the anime, the look in DMC3 was ok but his gun holder was terrific (I like it when you can see everything, or at least halfway explains where his weapons are.) In Part 4 he has his weapons under his coat behind. That makes little sense, if you do not see anything, but well, it was probably a design decision. Nevertheless, I find the look really cool and fits in with the casual and casual Dante But in a bit of white I find the outfit from DMC2 best because it looks most like a devil hunter. Just like its Devil Trigger. I found the wings and its devil shape best of all. Sorry I talk soveil and do not get to the point :-)) There must definitely be a bridge from part 5 to part 2, so that Lucia is back and we get explained what happened after part 2 or so. Oh yes, I'm from Germany and my English is not so good. I understand a lot but answer directly is very difficult for me. That's why I use google to translate ;-)
i just have a theory about wither or not devil may cry 4 is before 2 because when dante fights burial burial tells dante that he wont fail to kill him like his fallen brother or comrade i dont remember exactly and we actually fight a boss in dmc2 that looks exactly like burial so i think burial was referring to the fight that happened between dante and that other boss in dmc2 which probably means that dmc2 is before dmc4 i am not sure that it is corrent but thats whats i think correct me if i am mistaken
Where do you figure in the part in 4 where the high priest said that it had been 2000 years since the death of Sparta whatcha came after Donte was a kid and it was after the death of his mother that Donte's dad separated the sons and gave them the swords they both carried for many years till Donte had defeated Vergil
THANK GOD FOR DMC5!!!
@Maria Flores the game was supposed to be set in 2018, the original predicted release date, in fact the weather in the game exactly matches that of European weather that day. The game got delayed, so the game took place in the year of it’s release. 2019.
Even if I’m wrong and it’s supposed to be 2018 like originally intended, well then you just take a year off all the dates and I’m still right
Edit: Also, I’d like to remind you that nowhere in DMC3 did the game ever *actually* say Lady’s age.
@Maria Flores I added one extra point you fucking neek
I did not “Rewrite my entire argument”
Noooo DMC4 was 2008…
-Kamiya said that Dante ages like a human when in human form, but doesn't age in demon form. He just chooses to live like a human.
-BD and AD mean Before Dante and After Dante. It's based around Dante's birth; I'm obviously not saying the series is set during Jesus' lifetime.
The4thSnake wouldn't it explain Alot more that how sparda died. Because he did settle down with his family as human then rite?
Many years later, Dante escapes from the demon world and returns to save humanity once again in Devil May Cry 5!!!!! Coming 2019, Jackpot!!!!!
It isn't clear if DMC2 takes place before or after DMC5. if DMC2 takes place after DMC5 it means Dante won't die in the story. if it takes place before then DMC5 might be an interesting game since its going to be the last game of the Sparda bloodline.
Hey guys u know the new character in the right called V or whatever it is. But for some reason it sounds like it stands out for Vergil
or it could stand for Vietiful Joe :p
Nah kidding. V is used because he has no name yet and that was also mentioned in the song in combination with the previous games. He's probably a new character we haven't seen in the Universe before. It could be Ladys son since she got rid of her name as well :p
Undoubtedly you put more thought into this than Capcom did.
...................................damn...............
mmmm....but whats dante's age in DMC? if he said that dmc 3 dante is a teen, in dmc he is what? a kid? if you ask for this then this guy theory is wrong af
Steve The Stabber dmc is a reboot
zkid 715 but is it an official reboot or thats people's thoughts?
It is
Pffft... please.
I mean... even Arkham built a family, even if it was just for the sake of keeping that bloodline to break through the portal.
you bet Virgil tapped some ass, the first chance he got. All the shit he went through and having to fight demons all the time.... a cambion needs to relieve some stress.
The only virgin here is Dante, despite being surrounded by babes.
Now that's a good theory I genuinely respect and support, sir
I snapped my fingers at this. Very nice
This is actually wrong now as the timeline has been changed to 3 - 1 - Anime - 2 - 4 - 5
That's crazy
it makes more sense actually.
DMC4 light novel says that Dante ages as a human if I remember correctly.
DevilHunterDante AAAND according to DMC4:SE we can count the novel as half-canon
i don't even even before dmc4:se it was flimsy canon at best.
Given all of Dante's other powers, also having slowed aging and enhanced longevity isn't much of a stretch
94kbkb or no aging at all I don't think he ages in the sense if growing old I mean
If there's top naked Dante costume, how come there's no top naked Trish costume?
Reku Heims Now I cannot unsee what you have just said. There needs to be a topless costume for Lady, Kyrie, Virgil, Lucia, and everyone else involved with Devil May Cry!!!!
You think Dante wants to see his mother's clone topless? LOL
Well, it's implied that they're romantically involved, so what makes you think he hasn't? :P
AstralMuffin105 implied? In the viewtiful joe games they make out in a movie theater
And besides Dante doesn't see Trish as his mom which is proven again in the anime when Trish is concerned about Dante's healthcare "Please don't talk to me like you're my mom, you're not the maternal type" or even in DMC 1 "You might look like her but you're not"
dante always be the coolest capcom character in the history.. well not "dmc devil may cry" but i think 3rd and 4th counts on my books
dmc just have good controls
Paulo Annunaki that limit player freedom, why was high roller a dedicated button anyway?
I Agree 100%
Vergil is badass
Neros cooler
Vergil: I have a son!
Vader: You have a son?
Vergil: I have a son!
Vader: I have a son!
Vader: Now you two can rule the world as father and son!
Vergil: I don't need deadweight to rule the world. Now the world shall know this devil's POWER
Vader: Understandable, have a nice day.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the ending of that DMC5:SE Vergil intro scene, where they make a very obvious point to show a woman turning and smiling at Vergil as he walks past. It was way too specific to not be hinting at something.
Do you mean DMC4?
You could theorize that Vergil gathered information regarding the Order of the Sword from that woman since what he's done in Fortuna is made unclear.
And then they fucked.
so does this mean dante is nero's uncle
Why do you think Dante gave it to Nero despite it needing to "stay in the family"?
Your Gay Father yeah I wasnt really paying attention to whats being told
yep
So that means Dante was training and testing Nero to see if he was worthy or some shit🤔?
yeah...why do you think the fan base calls dmc4 dante 'uncle dante'? :p
What I have heard the whole time:
Dante was 19 when he saved the world by killing a lot of oversized demons and in an epic battle defeating his brother and opened his own shop.
And what have I acomplished at the age of 18, nearly 19? Well.... watched a lot of time consuming videos on youtube....
I'm 24 and I've not done much more.
Dante ain't real lol now i would understand if you had compared yourself to a young Mike Tyson who at age 19 or 20 got the heavyweight championship title.
Lol we're in the same boat
2000 BD
that is how I am counting time from now on
what is BD ?
before dante :-p
thanks :D
2000 AC? noob
Johnathan Lannister wise choice
Dante is nearly 50 in DMC2? Wonder how old he'll be in DMC5. Hes even sporting the beard
Shin-Ya-Kha dmc5 trailer is now out
Dantes 40
This video is well thought out, but oh so painful. Since very quickly after the reboot, Itsuno retconned the timeline so that 2 came before 4. Since DMC5 happens 5 years after the Fortuna incident, Dante is only 43.
@@HELLO_KORO very close, but that would imply that Vergil had Nero at 16 years old, and I'm retry sure he'd of at least learnt about Nero in the 3 years that would've passed between then and DMC 3.
hits me right in the feeling real . . . HARD, 16:53 where he said "Dante's last seen deeper to the demon world to possibly never returned "
If you finish Lucia´s game you actually hear clearly that rigth in the end Dante arrives at his shop, just as Lucia leaves it.
yeah but what if that sound was trish's bike
remember in dmc 2 you can play as trish as well
Gaming★Star but I thougth Trish game was not cannon.
True but the scene when Lucia heard the bike it didn't actually show Dante coming in or out or whatever , it just show Lucia running out of the office that's all
we don't know it might be Trish or lady's bike because they didn't actually show what is happening after that
hey it's just a theory don't get into it much XD
Before recently when I was a kid I thought since he was immortal he lived like a thousand years lol
DMC2 dante was stylish as hell, probably the best design of the series.
+1r0zz i agree with you!
DMC 2 bad gameplay good design lol must remake dmc 2 with better mechanics and harder difficulty
vincent eby
that's what happens when a team does not really understand what the focus should be.
But not comedic though still badass
The fact that you loath the reboot is all I need to know for we to be lifelong friends.
Now that makes us two (or three?)
Yea seriously. It's not so bad on it's own but then you say it's a Devil May Cry game and I'm pissed. It was fun but IT WAS NOT Devil May Cry.
+Synthra Official agreed
FUCK THAT GAME!!!
byron wright IKR THAT THING IS SHIT
And then Capcom retconned the timeline
But I think demons can live for thousands of years, So why not dante?
+rinku5555555 Because he's half demon.
+Achyut Dwivedi He should live 500 years then?
+Nope Guy I wish it worked that way.
I always thought that dante was like 2000 years old in dmc 2. That explains why he's so edgy!
I always explained it as this: After years upon years of fighting and witnessing demonic horrors, Dante has finally lost his spirit and become cynical
94kbkb yeah, killing demons must get old sometime, when's Dante gonna stop? When he dies?
Santiago Scarpino It's supposed to be set in the far future, so my best guess is that Lady dies slightly prior to DMC 2.
@@nicholasfallbrook9810 2 years and now everything is wrong. sad
idk if it's just me but Lucia from DMC2 looks just like Rihanna. -_-U
Lari Michaelis she reminds me of Mistral from Metal gear Rising
dakitsu luna bruh she looks nothing like her. 😂😂
Lari Michaelis I always said that! I’m glad someone else agrees with me lmao.
I used this video is a psuedo-pilot for my current show, which still work out timelines but without the Game theory theme.I don't know if that would interest you or not, but here's the link, all the same: th-cam.com/play/PLD5aSrsU_m4Mc3dS4hjn9dSD_M804eol-.html
Once again, thank you for giving me a chance to impress you.
Thanks for the offer! Part of why I like GT is because they de-mystify some of the things we wonder about in games and movies; things that are right in front of our faces sometimes, so I'd be willing to check it out. I'm curious to see your unique style is as well. :)
***** Thank you. I hope you can enjoy it just as much as you did this one.
*Had to give you a like for the first 3 minutes of your video! Fuck DmC!!! No one asked for a reboot!!! Looking forward to Devil May Cry 5!*
Yeah, ok.

Ayano Hadashi you don't know shit about devil may cry then if you don't accept DMC
I burst out laughing at the BD/AD annotation. This was super entertaining and, while 19/28 seemed to be the accepted DMC3/1 age long before this video, it was really nice to see it well thought out. Great stuff, hope you'll do more in the future!
Thanks. Keep an eye out for the Sonic timeline video I've got coming up in the next few weeks.
is it bad that i cried so bad when Vergil was trapped in the demon realm?
No the first time I played the game I was like "wait... you mean they aren't going to hug an make up or something? NOOOOO I LIKE VERGIL!!" When he stayed behind I was sadder than the crying Pikachu meme.
fanboy? ...im a fangirl😐
MariDaKat Teh Kat:/ I'm a fangirl. DMC is probably my favorite game sags next to Resident Evil (funny how one wouldn't exist without the other)
Buried Graveyard Dude no one cares. Being a trolling nobody doesn't work on people that don't give a shit. Go bother the FNAF people or something.
one day. one day all the fans of Devil May Cry will get a sequel. i dont want a reboot as much as i liked it (ya i like the reboot, srry) but i want the original back.
Looking forward to the update to this timeline discussion.
You did a great job without doubt.
IMO
- 8-9 years old when Eva died.
+VergilHilts As stated in the video, the quote I found stated he was late 30s, approaching 40. In that way, it works.
dude fml i've been playing DmC since i was 7 and i go back to watch the anime for the nostalgia and just so stumbled upon this vid, and i gotta say this is straight up fire man glad to see some peeps with mad love for one of my most cherished games. Very entertaining vid bro keep it up u got my sub!
Thank you so much. This type of video is basically my focus right now so I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

+anti brony and weeaboos Thank you. You might like the timeline series I'm planning to start up in the next couple months.
+The4thSnake will remember that! :)
anti brony and weeaboos Well, be sure to like, comment and subscibe so you don't forget ;)
You know... i-if you want to...
Aye!
+RevanX77 'Muricans
It sounded like he was scary to say that Vergil fucked a prostituted when he was under 18.
I appreciate that smooth movement when you put the games into tmeline
Then, have I got a series spun off from this video for you!
Not to forget the shin megami tensei nocturne cameo he makes. Which is suppose to happen after dante travels to hell.
Will you do more of devil may cry theory's or any game theory's in the future ?
Grumpy Alien I'm considering it down the line. Don't know any more theories though.
First off, don't rip off Game Theory. Secondly, from what I understand Virgil's whole reason for seeking power is because people he cared for were killed.
Here's mine:
Death of Eva; age 8
Birth of Nero; age 16-17
Devil may cry 3 manga; age 18
Devil may cry 3; age 19
Devil may cry 1; age 26-28
Devil may cry anime; age 28-29
Devil may cry 4; age 35-37 (making Nero around 20)
Devil may cry 2; age 41-42
I'm also pretty sure that Fortuna is set in Europe and not America meaning that the age of consent may be lower.
It was confirmed that Nero is Vergil's son in an art book.
Buried Graveyard You're a dumbass, not only that but you're wrong too. Devil May Cry 5 is in development.
Devil May Cry doesn't have the original Dante.
Taha Mir what are you talking about? Yes it does.
Whats the name of the song that was playing in the background? The very tranquil music.
Devil May Cry - Standard Daytime
Plus, do Nero even know who his father is? Or who either of his parents are?
No, he doesn't.
If I'm being honest, I think you delivered and presented the content in this rather well.
I rather enjoyed it and I think my friend might too.
Thank you. I hope they do.
And in 2018 he rides back from hell on that same motorcycle, much older, but still as cute in a new trailer from e3 ;)
He looks like he's join the Remnants of Sephiroth.
Gay
@@jefferyr9696 how is he gay
the rebot on its own was actaully pretty good, i love all the game
Kyrie is more of a damsel in distress than princess peach. Why anyone would want her is beyond me
he same reason people had liked the damsel in distress imagery in numerous stories in history. i don't know what that reason is, but its probably a good one
ailish forner irving
Well, at least, she did not do some hot shit that infuriated the viewers because she knew her limit and didn't get to shit on your journey more than Peach did (Yeah, the Sunshine's flashback was still there.) She was also not like Kat when the story made her more important while she was EVEN MORE USELESS and a DAMSEL than Kyrie. Kyrie knew her place and a damsel till the end for a role. What I hate the most was that the fall from grace from a character who acted strong but then became a damsel later on.
Have you seen her ass? It's phenomenal
Whats wrong with a damsel in distress though?
I'm not sure for your "age" theory but thanks dude you help me a lot with the chronology and the history of the game..it was very difficult for me to understand what is the story behind this game
Glad I could help.
Im pretty sure that age of consent wouldn't apply in a fictional story about demon people in a fictional city but yeah, go on...
Yeah, when he brought that up I was like wait, what?
DMC3, 19.
DMC1, 28.
Anime, 31-33
DMC 2 novel, 32-33?
DMC2, 33
DMC4, 38
Before the nightmare, 43
DMC5, 44yo.
It's still pretty blurry when exactly anine sets after the DMC1 tho.
I've not looked into BTN yet, but I will once 5 is out so I can make the follow-up video.
@@The4thSnake Heyyy I just watched your updated video! Im kinda happy that we came to the (almost) same conclusion. I wasn't sure exactly how old Dante was in anime and DMC2, but your updated video answered everything for me. Keep up the great work mate, cheers!
@@alexht.9382 Thanks. I will.
I am still one of those people who believe that Vergil is still alive am I alone in thinking that?
Vergil is a fan fav they're definitely gonna bring him back even if he's really "dead".
+demonslayervirgil600 I think he is still alive .They never said he was dead, only defeated
+Sendiawan Mulyono Dante defeated mundus but mundus isn't dead either he's immortal apparently he can only just be defeated.
Keelan Ransom yeah from what I remembered, dante only seal mundus back
so, can we assume that DMC5 might take several years after DMC2? I mean Dante grow beard & has demon-bike which might be something that he obtained from "tour to hell"
Mhmm sorry but Dante is around 29 ~ 30 in DMC 4. The story between 1 and 4 DID NOT take 10 years in between.
This interview with DMC 4 Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi is a proof: www.wired.com/2007/10/interview-hiroy/
In this Interview, Kiroyuki stated that "Lady appeared in 3, and now she’s about ten years older than she was in that one." This is a solid proof that the time gap between DMC 3 and DMC 4 is 10 years.
+Alien Dante is around his 40´s in DMC4 (imgur(dot)com/Sa7sO94) (page 118 DMC 3.1.4.2 artbook)
Dante and Nero arent twins, Dante and Vergil are.
DMC4 hinted a lot of things:
- What the hell happened when Kyrie was attacked?
バージル DMC Well, Vergil was in fortune decades before DMC4 events, Nero has the sparda blood, He could repair yamato, he has the vergil D.T shadow..etc
the artbook its official :/
+jasielstael I edited my last post take a look. I didn't told you that the artbook is not offcial, I told you that I wouldn't count it as a reliable source because it doesn't give you any explanation or official confirmation from for example Itsuno or Kobayashi.
PS: The "decades ago" from Vergil's intro in SE is wrong, japanese version stated "10 years ago".
Wow that was a very good video! I really enjoyed it. Watched it all the way to the end. Keep up the great work man!
I will, thank you.
DMC 4 opening
''2000 years ago sparda shuts the demon world away from the human world ''
Dante is nearly 2000 years old
Sanctus says that Sparda changed sides 2000 years ago, not that he sealed the various portals then, nor that Dante was born then.
got it !
Rohit Raghuvanshi Sparda.
Dude you can be an awesome investigative reporter bro! Salute on these questions being answered. Now on to bigger things shall we? 😊😄
hmm, may be in DMC5 Nero will go to the demon world?... find dante ...
No...
That'd be cool but I doubt it.
+Zenix Vampirchik maybe, and i think it would be more cooler if dante finds vergil in the demon world, then nero recognized his father and went out from demon world together :)
+Sendiawan Mulyono Vergil dies in Devil May Cry 1 .
Testigo Del Nene Sinclair not being a fan of vergil or sth, but how do u know that vergil died in dmc 1? From the story, his soul flew away after nelo angelo last fight with dante, it doesnt mean that he is dead.
Where can I find this remix of Out Of Darkness playing in the background?
It's just the normal version.
ShadowJedi I thought Dantes young self was pretty good in my opinion. if you put the thought of how he matures later in the years and changes.
ShadowJedi i would
ShadowJedi the new DmC is the different universe from the original series and it's alternative choice for us to play between original or the reboot....but i am more interested on the reboot one cuz it's looks more modern and all characters looks young and hot.....btw are have any information about DmC reboot will have their series or sequel......
Wow, hate bandwagon is huge I guess. Rebooted DMC is fucking awesome. And yes, I'm Dmc 3 and 4 fan, but anyway I'm objective at least
just 1 question you started the time line from 1BD but everything happens in 2000-2015 so its a different universe or a demon starts to getting old about 2000 years of his birth which kills the theory of you saying that everything start from 0. That or I am really stupid to understand
BD means Before Dante. 0BD is the year Dante is born.
If Lady is 10 years older than DMC 3 in the Anime then what age was she in her debut? Generously assuming a woman would be fully developed by 22 she must have been about 12 in DMC 3...which...doesn't seem likely. So I'm calling it now, she had some surgery done.
+floooooooooooooooood or early puberty
She also could have been 15 in DMC 3, and we saw her fully developed in 4.
You seem to be the only one to try and answer this question on TH-cam, great video! Too bad they re-arranged the games' timelines again with dmc5
I'm working on an update.
@@The4thSnake that's awesome and I'm glad to hear that. Can't wait to see what you got!
Vergil didn't die in dmc 1, he vanished, play the game or watch the cutscene, vergil hasn't died, he is still alive and well
He exploded.
The4thSnake but he exploded in light and vanished, also it was never confirmed that he died
He hasn't returned since and there's nothing to indicate he teleported away.
Passive aggressively telling him to play the game won't help because nothing suggests he's still alive. He could be, but it's far from confirmed or obvious. As has been said, he exploded and hasn't been seen since. It's fairly safe to assume he's dead until told otherwise
So with dmc5 comming out, the creater said its after dmc4 what do we think about 5's placement in relation to dmc2?
DMC5 is after DMC2 judging for Dante visual. In the trailer, he was probably riding off the hell.
Wow thats pretty good thinking :D
I like how you just completely ripped off MatPat's intro entireley
Thank you for showing me that there are light novels and other forms of canon media I can read in this series, thank you, so much. I really do appreciate this :D
Dante looks good for forty nine. Everyone that I know who is around fifty has wrinkles. That being said Dante is still kicking ass at forty nine.
+Antlo Avina well he is a half demon i wouldnt be surprised if capcom say that demons age slower then humans
+Trismagia Huh. Interesting.
devil may cry 2 is after dmc 4 in the timeline...?
no way
Dank Cat it's a fact
Dank Cat dmc2 is the last in the timeline.
Its 3, 1, 4, 2.
Hmm now it makes sense but dante in dmc4 looked older to me than in dmc2
+Dank Cat (Jacket) I personally prefer that they do a remake " Devil May Cry 2" and put it on par with the rest of the games in the series and also make Dante look as old as he is
Jeremy Briggs yes that sounds good.
Nice presentation and good theory. Whats up the the subtitle though?
It's because I continued this type of video in my current show, A Line Through Time, jsut without the Game Theory parts. So, this is a kind of prototype for that show. I've covered Sonic, Street Fighter and Metroid, with Tomb Raider coming next month.
Nero is vergils son in my opinion
It's a fact ...
its a fact based in the book but capcom as a while didn't confirm it due to the fact dmc4 people left.
Mario Sanon DMC4:SE features Vergil coming to Fortuna so...
i don't even yeah I read it again and research it more and it find its canon, but most of the folks think that Dante is story/universe is over because there nothing powerful enough to kill anymore. They can still use the new Dante and also bring back the old characters in some cross over tho in a future game
@@sogmnao It is a legit fact now...
Dunno. Good vid either way.
man that's awesome but you could made it with your skills and logic don't rip off from another youtuber...I wish you will make more videos about DMC
Marwan Abd El-Ghany I don't hold out much hope for DMC5 being announced any time soon. I think the cutscenes are canon but the gameplay isn't.
The4thSnake IT GOT ANNOUNCED
Looking back on this now, does DMC5 take place BEFORE DMC2?
No, they changed the order so 2 comes before 4.

Toryu Naminosaki No shit, he said that many damn times.
That doesn't make it okay, it's still a pathetic way to garner views
I didn't do it for views; I did it to see if I could successfully replicate his style.
There are plenty of ways to do that without ripping off his intro and name. Don't lie to yourself
Must feel pretty glad for this comeback
Oh, I am.
If i see a hater of the reboot imma get him with a real-life SSSensational combo!!!!!!
Bring it
Your theory sounds really strong and makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for clarifying this :D
No problem. Thanks for watching. I've got more like this, if you're interested.
Buuut the reboot was good
lol but the BD and AD is pretty clever
+NeRo Slayer Idk, I'd think it's best if new players just never play this one, just for the simple fact that they're not continuing it.
Fox Die Game-wise yes,story-wise are you fking serious?
Fun fact: 90% of the people crying about DmC Devil May Cry haven't played any of the previous games. I really don't get why people cry about the characters. The only problem i had with the game was with that bitch Lillith who served no purpose what so ever.
do you have the links about the Dmc2 novel Sir?
I love to read it :)
I'm afraid not. I was able to find a physical copy online a couple years ago, but I think it's pretty rare nowadays.
+The4thSnake oh I see.. thanks
The decades in the Vergil opening is a typo in the JP version it says over a decade ago.
Interesting.
This had more research and thought put into it than any Game Theory video

Eva's Death - 1976
Birth of Nero and Events of the manga - 1986
Events of DMC3 - 1987
Events of DMC1 - 1996
Events of the anime - 1997
Events of DMC4 - 2006
Events of the novel - 2016
Events of DMC2 - 2017
Events of DMC5 - 2019
Dante and Vergil's age in Devil May Cry 5: 51
Their Birth year: 1968

I've been trying to figure it out for a looking time. i think this is the best timeline I've ever heard.. how long did it take you to think this up? i can't argue with one thing you said lol
It took about three months total; reasearch, writing, recording and editing included.
The4thSnake you sir are worthy. I bow to your DMC knowledge
great reasonable timelines and it's in such a neat chronological order every big gap is either 10 or 11 years apart and small gap =1 or
about
this means so much to me as a huge devil may cry fan. I've always wondered how old dante was througout the games
Thanks.
Needless to say, my fav of the serie. x'D
You really put a lot of thoughts into this, I can work with this timeline !
Thank you. That's a great place to start (well, with Special Edition).
It’s 2018 now and we finally have a trailer and E3 Announcement for Devil May Cry: 5.
Have fun updating this old thing! 👍
"Fun"...
damn. it did get me wondering back then when playing DMC2 then he said sounded like an experienced veteran demon hunter.
now i know he was 49 at that time.
Amazing theory!! You tied the knots pretty well, I actually agree with it!
SirenaLoreley Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
For some reason I was always dead confident, that the twins where actually 9 when Eva got killed. Can't honestly remember where I got that from though and it's only a year different from this theory. Also, the ages described seem very plausible so thank you for clarifying the timelines!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad I could help.
Celina Ortiz Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Dante Age
Devil May Cry 3 Manga: 18 Years Old.
Devil May Cry 3: 19. He was stated be around 19.
Devil May Cry 1: 28. It seemed to several years
Devil May Cry Animated Series:29 to 30. It could be a year or 2. Ironically on Episode 8 a Guy Named Ernest recognized Dante and calles him Tony. Even the picture showed him 20 or more years ago
Devil May Cry 4: 38
Its blatantly obvious that someone put in a lot of work into this. You got my respect ! The humor was on point lol.
.
Hello :-)
Have just seen your video and I think great.

Oh yes, to the voting
My favorite girls from Devil May Cry.
1st place: Trish
2nd place: Lady
3rd place Lucia
4th place: Kyrie
I really like his outfit in DMC1 and the anime, the look in DMC3 was ok but his gun holder was terrific
(I like it when you can see everything, or at least halfway explains where his weapons are.)
In Part 4 he has his weapons under his coat behind. That makes little sense, if you do not see anything, but well, it was probably a design decision. Nevertheless, I find the look really cool and fits in with the casual and casual Dante
But in a bit of white I find the outfit from DMC2 best because it looks most like a devil hunter. Just like its Devil Trigger. I found the wings and its devil shape best of all.
Sorry I talk soveil and do not get to the point :-))
There must definitely be a bridge from part 5 to part 2, so that Lucia is back and we get explained what happened after part 2 or so.
+Ferass Mohib Well, they've confirmed that 4 comes before 2.
Where do you figure in the part in 4 where the high priest said that it had been 2000 years since the death of Sparta whatcha came after Donte was a kid and it was after the death of his mother that Donte's dad separated the sons and gave them the swords they both carried for many years till Donte had defeated Vergil
No one has ever said Sparda died 2000 years ago. He betrayed the demons 2000 years ago. He died shortly before Eva, twenty years before DMC1.
Don't know if this happened since or before this video, but the wiki lists his age during dmc3 as 19.
Fans have specilauted he was 19 then for years. While I don't think it's because of this video, it would be cool if it was.
