Could you do a Wasted Plotential for Lucia? She's my favourite of all the Devil May Cry girls and I miss her. I also think between her and Devil May Cry 4 there's an interesting commonality when it comes to Artificial Devils. They are largely more Angelic looking than one might expect of a Devil.
Wait. Sparda died in the same attack when Eva died? I thought he died earlier due to old age after sacrificing his power, which is why mundus came to attack to kill his sons before they try to target him in the future.
Well in dmc1... they said millennia ago when they were talking about his dad so basically his dad can live normally when he's 200 but dante is half human sooo maybe dante can die young or live for couple of hundred years?
I remember the staff said in DMC4 Dante was in his late 30s (so between 37-39) and according to this video DMC 5 takes place at least 6 years after that based on Nico's presence so that'd make him between 43-45 maybe 46 at most. That puts Dante and Vergil's ages around their actor's ages as of when the game come out Reuben being 43 and Dan being 44 as of the release
@@clarehidalgo That makes sense yeah... I came at the 39-40 conclusion because patty was 18, which made her 8 in the anime, and that would mean it was set 10 years before 5, but the novel states that DMC2 was also set a decade ago, which made me believe that the anime was set a year after the first game, and the second game a few months after. And as for the devs saying he looked as if in his late thirties, that can be easily retconned. Again, that's just me.
Clare Hidalgo I would like to believe that, but there’s only one little detail: If the twins are at least 45 during the events of 5, that would place Nero at 27 years old. He doesn’t even look like he’s in his late 20s to me.
I played the shin megami tensei mobile game during the DMC5 event and the event ends with Dante Nero V and Nico going back to their own universe so Dante is non canon to SMT

Fixing it's combat system is the easiest one: just pulls DMC5 gameplay. While it's story had such a terrible execution , that it would be difficult to make worse.
It's the primary example of that phrase: "when you go down , the only direction left is going up"
DMC2 was just another day on Dante's life.
It is canon, it happened, its bean 16 years already, deal with it.
@@phantasosxgames8488 REmake 2 is shit.
Oh yes, been waiting on this. :D
Then there is Visions of V taking place during the early moments of 5. Particularly between vergil stealing Nero's arm and well the manga isn't finished yet
This fits my calculations for Dante's age.
2:44 Enzo!! Wow he isn't only in bayonetta s' franchise
"Takin' notes?"
"I'm never not"
NEEEERRRRRRRRRD!!!
they should make devil may cry zero/origins and make a backstory about sparda why he save humanity and he is still a mistery.
I think DMC name sould be more directed as a Dante stories,
Maybe a name like Devils Shall Cry for Sparda's story.
I would love a Sparda game, but what I do appreciate now about the series( that I didn't notice till God of War (2018) is that you never see flashbacks of sparda, we only know what he looks like through unlock able skins. But we never see what he is like. We only ever hear about Sparda from those who loved him, respected him, and hated him. All the way back to the first game, in the anime and novels we only hear stories.
I think that's great that we get an interpretation of his personality instead of just flat out having Sparda show us. One of the few times "tell don't show" works to a characters advantage. I would love a Sparda game but at the same time I think its best we don't.
I don't care what anyone says, Eva was an Umbra Witch and Hitoshura is the best boy of the DMC Cinematic Universe.
Alseid It’s “Extended Universe” Dip-Shit.
That's stupid it is basically ruins the entire point dmc 3 plot where it was all dante waking up to humanity
10:23 10:30 Why would Dante work for Lucifer in the first place?
Also at 10:34 that's a mobile game by the company that (retconned Dante out of SMT3) bought Atlas. In a way that mobile game can still be considered Dante's first inclusion into SMT.
The dmc5 novel states that it takes place 5 years after 4
Perfect timing!
But man, in the first novel dante uses his dmc1 outfit, and also carries the force edge (which is obtained at the end of dmc3), and also gilver is mean to be under mundus control already and when he "DT' he takes the form of nelo angelo
10:35 what happened ? is it legit ?
I dont get it
@@SheldonSempai420 the crossover being. Legit. Turns out Dante and friends show up in a mobile game about smt named liberation or something for a limited event
I think Capcom and Bingo really don't care about consistency that much, there's always going to be gaping holes in the timeline.
That last bit lmao. Better take notes.
Why don't we just assume that Dante is probably over 100 plus. He is half Demon. Or Cambion by lore since. He most likely order than he appears. Most likely slow aging.
Because that's been stated to not be true.
@@The4thSnake You sure on that there are many half demons who appear younger than there actual age. Take Inuyasha. He looks 15 but he's older than Wolverine. About 200 years plus.
@@ronniesanders8546 Kamiya said so.
@@The4thSnake Ok.
@@The4thSnake Who's Kamiya 😆.
Yeah the people who say that Trish's name is mentioned in Bayonetta means that it's a shared universe are idiots because they also mention okami and Street fighter characters and we know.that those are two separate universes because of the world's unite crossover which have Archie Sonic, Archie Mega man (even though the Archie comics for MegaMan can be considered Canon), NiGHTS, Skies of Arcadia, Golden axe, Panzer Dragoon, Okami, Monster Hunter, Sonic boom, and Alex Kidd meet each other by going through other UNIVERSES through Genesis portals to defeat sigma from mega Man x
I believe that Devil May Cry and Bayonetta are in or share the same universe whether if it’s true or not I still believe because they eventually have to crossover at some point Hideki Kamiya doesn’t mind making a game with those two but only if he gets the rights from Capcom first
It's not true though. But there's nothing wrong with believing your own fanfiction.
Late reply, but better than the above comment, nothing wrong with making your own fanfiction
If I'm not mistakened, DMC1 Novel illustrations suggests that he had Force Edge however I don't remember if it is ever mentioned by name. Been a while since i read it, but the fact that might havev force edge really messes with consistency since it is officially canon again. Whatever, Rebellion changed designs again.
Basically, yeah. I think the epilogue leads directly into the game too, so that has to be ignored.
Happy Easter 4th Snake. Funny enough, I was wondering if you were going to make an update to the Dante age video.
Man I still need to get DMC 5 at some point. It may be dumb at times but at least it is a fun franchise and wow so much thought and insight into DMC lore! Very intresting.
Just seeing enzo makes me mad that bayonetta don't exist in the same universe
10:35 um... can someone explain this to me?
Dmc 2 in now set prior to 4
After a decade of us understanding 2 to come before 4
?
Could you do a Wasted Plotential for Lucia? She's my favourite of all the Devil May Cry girls and I miss her.
I also think between her and Devil May Cry 4 there's an interesting commonality when it comes to Artificial Devils. They are largely more Angelic looking than one might expect of a Devil.
Whats the song playing in 4:01
wait, dmc has anime and manga version ? where have i been all these years ?
Timeline felt like one big punch in the chin
Do a Video on Nero's Deadbeat yet badass Dad
Wait. Sparda died in the same attack when Eva died? I thought he died earlier due to old age after sacrificing his power, which is why mundus came to attack to kill his sons before they try to target him in the future.
That's what I said.
"Good old-fashioned retcons because we're some lazy f**** that don't give a damn"
Well in dmc1... they said millennia ago when they were talking about his dad so basically his dad can live normally when he's 200 but dante is half human sooo maybe dante can die young or live for couple of hundred years?
10:35 what game is that?
Shin Megami Tensei Dx2 Liberation. It’s a gacha game iirc.
Wait I thought Dante's shop was unnamed until after his whole thing with Trish
No, he names it at the end of 3.
welp, now wait to DMC 6 (in some years) and Vsions of V for his place in the timeline, when the times come (sorry for my bad English)
The thumbnail has the wrong guy
I think currently he's 39-40 years old. Again, that's just me. :-)
Who.come up with the business name how he get the dmc devil may Cry
Patty's age is stated in DMC 5 and it is 18, which kinda fucks up the timeline
Anime dante is 28 or 29
Patty age is 10 😰
How did Sparta die
What's this Dx2? First time I'm hearing about it
Don't you mean AS (After Sparda)?
Yay devil may cry
I want to know who Nero's mother is.
SMT timeline when?
No do fire emblem
+The4thSnake Oh come on I can dream Demi-Fiend will one day show up in a dmc game cant I?
remember when we all thought V was Nico's sister for some reason?
The book like Arkham and dark hair like Lady.
There was a leak that stated something like that, he was an orphan and got adopted by nico's family or something
I played the shin megami tensei mobile game during the DMC5 event and the event ends with Dante Nero V and Nico going back to their own universe so Dante is non canon to SMT
Not exactly SMT works on multiverse logic.... So while SMT is not canon to Devil May Cry. Devil May Cry is canon to SMT.
Sooo shared universe huh
When is the Injustice 2 critique coming out? We all know your gonna do it
Virgil could be Gilver, I felt dmc5 implied that Dante and Virgil have had other fights throughout the timeline.
What about DmC?!?!?
That's a reboot not canon to original series.
ik that was a joke
I like this video
Dante and Cereza have the same manager bruh
Here's the thing I don't like that nobody's mentioned. Vergil died in 28AD after being killed as nelo angelo. 16 years later he comes back with no explanation and a weakened body. HOW?! What happened in those 16 years if he was dead!
I expected them to say that he didn't die as Nero Angelo cause we never saw him die. We heard him teleport away just like every other boss fight with him. But nope, they flat out say Dante killed Vergil once and then offer no explanation as to how he comes back.
@@xMasterSparku exactly, like if you was gonna bring back vergil make him a good guy and give an explanation as to how he's alive. Neither of those things happened and so it feels like fanservice the way they did it. And were now waiting for the next game to be a nero exclusive. (I have have this feeling that they're gonna do that and I don't want to believe it.)
They thing is tho Vergil never died in dmc 1. Mundus clearly stated Vergil has been defeated. Defeat does not mean dead.
@@TheBlackSaiyan97 it was definitely implied that vergil died
@@platinumg150 it wasn't tho. They never stated Vergil died.
10:35 ....oh god SMT canon is fucked enough
So... Megami Tensei timeline when? Can’t wait for the aneurism you’ll get from that one...
Just... don't count the stage thingy
Dante in that first Novel gives me Ragna vibes in style.
(Yeah I know Ragna was based off Dante no need to repeat it)
In the novel gilver dies and it's revelead to be vergil but he disappears in a cloud of dust exactly like nelo angelo did when defetead. I know gilver and his action are hard to link with vergil but what about this defeat at the hands of dante is the reason vergil unlocks his Devil Trigger? After the gilver incident Vergil returns way stronger than dante without any explanation on how he got it
Vergil unlocked his devil trigger when those demons attacked him , long before Dante.
Showing a cloud of dust could indicate that Gilver may be some sort of copy , like Trish.
@@phantasosxgames8488 But Gilver had the yamato and if he did unlock dt the day eva died tony could never been able to defeat gilver
@@ADEtheMayhem After Dante defeated Gilver, the novel said this in regards to the sword.
"Dante dropped both items, letting himself fall back to the floor. The sword having lost its master crumbled to dust." If Gilver is a clone, that wouldn't have been Yamato. If I'm not mistakened, Yamato isn't referred to by name but it's been a while since i read the novel. Honestly, they either should have ignored this novel or released a updated variant of it.
@@CodeStew This novel works but it definetly needs some(much) HeadCanon. Gilver Can't be a clone because he had also the pedant with the name vergil written on it, at most one could think Vergil was posseded, but i like to think that the true Vergil is born after being defetead by Dante
Mister 4thsnake you would say darkstalkers is canon to devil may cry but bayonetta and smt(one of them dante made it in) is not canon that makes sense
3rd time? Now 20 times easier since patty
10:14 Come on, this is Japan, everything is canon
I know this is off topic but i cant wait for your mk11 story review/rant cause the story was shit and i know you will feel the same
The game timeline is weird, 2 is retcon as non canon acording to an interview, anime is canon kinda
2 is not retconned and the anime is in the timeline. It is officially like this:
DMC3-DMC1-Anime-DMC2-DMC4-DMC5
@@zffrailgun1630 oh they Reretconed
Triah was a downgrade to Eva as the former’s frontal ballistics are smaller than the latter’s
Damn I liked it better when I thought dante was an ageless 20000 yrs old guy infinite chance for more games
Dante is 42 Vergil made @ 17
Who's Nero Mom?! Y nobody talking about that
Nero's mom is a 'prostitute', in DMC4:SE in a cutscene introducing Vergil walking into the streets of Fortuna, he fights several demons and after that he continues wandering the streets. Before the cutscene ends, the camera focuses on a woman, who glances at Vergil.
And that's p much Nero's mom.
@@fatalisxiv You right! But damn we need more details on her tho😂
but... but Nero in DMC 4 is like... 16? or 17 at least? anyway, Dante is around 40 by DMC 5 (at least, that's what novel says), which makes him ~35 y.o. by 4 game.
Completely unrelated to the video. I can't wait for your story review/breakdown of MK11. It's so stupid and I have opinions! I really want to hear someone to rip it to shreads.
Posts a Mortal Combat video: heaps of views. Posts a DMC5 video: less views. People are stupid.
Clemps is Jesus confirmed
Morrison is the most powerful guy as he learned the secret to the n word
Sorry bud but sparda doesnt died he just banish in another real wich dante and vergil can find it he still alive
Bayonnetta and DMC definitively share a common universe
FIGHT ME!
Angels don't exist in DMC universe.
I rest my case.
@@dshvd2410 Affirmation that was done even before Bayonnetta exist, you can work arround that. I mean the same scriptwritter work on both games and kamya clearly want them to share a same universe. Hell nothing in DMC5 realy contradict the shared univers, hell the way V practice magic look awfuly similar the way bonnetta use it... which has to be the most they can do before facing legal issues.
Your case is weak
Nothing to fight about. Enzo in the DMC universe has lost his arm due to a devil arm. Meanwhile the Enzo in Bayonetta has both his arms.

Not realy an argument, but Well... if Morrison Can turn black between the anime and dmc5, i can buy that Enzo regrow an arm too.
To be honnest i don't realy understand why some people seems to don't want a Bayonnetta x DMC univers when the creators cleary seems to want it... x)
As Vergil would put it
"WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO GAIN POWER!!!"
Morrisons skin color doesn't effect the story. Enzo's arm does as it's the reason Trish left the shop along with Dante leaving Agni and Rudra behind at the end of the drama CD.
Only Kamiya said he wouldn't mind a crossover along with constantly referencing DMC in his games including the DMC games he never made. Capcom has never shown interest in a crossover nor has any DMC game ever referenced Bayonetta.
maybe Chris was on steroid...and I don't think Sparda is dead.

Isnt it obvious? Dante is 500,000 years old.

I still don't understand how the anime can be canon when Morrison in the anime is white but in 5 is black... And even they personalyties are different
