Pretty good video! For Super Mario 64 specifically, I would recommend playing the native port of the decompilation as opposed to emulation, but it's nice to see that it's possible.

I remember this emulator from the PlayStation Portable.
What the PSP benefits from is that it uses the same architecture as the Nintendo 64, however, it too has sound bugs.
I tried Mario Kart 64 on there and was surprised to see it works in the first place.

Are you running the latest 2DS XL system update?
You should use the new 3DS models for N64. As for the crashing, try loading the N64 roms into the correct folders if you have a new 2DS model.
A lot of fun software is only aveleble on the new 3ds is this the case? (Im planning on buying a new 3ds anyways but for noe i have the 3ds)

Neither 3ds or Ps Vita is very successful with Paper Mario. Laggy and graphical glitches in my experience. Your best non-PC solution is if you have a Wii U(inject VC-version) or Nintendo Switch(Online subscription or mod it in).

It's cool that it can play n64 games, but the 3ds already has a much better smash bros and mario kart, and there's a native mario 64 port on the hshop which plays the best. It's just not worth the glitchyness for most 3d n64 games.

same here, and I wanted to play it with the 3D effect too
this emulator had the 3D effect enabled at one point in the beta builds but then I think they removed it but I haven't followed the scene in so long that I am not sure if they ever brought it back, I wonder if it has the 3D effect enabled now that it is in stable builds.

why? you can get the port and you can even get the port with the 3D effect, it's awesome
This emulator had the 3D effect at one point but they stopped including it but I haven't been following the scene so I am not sure if they added it back, but either way the port running native will still run much better I am sure, I just love playing it with the 3D effect on

I like to cut holes in n3ds/n3dsxl (ll outside us) back covers when modding them for sd access.
