Really ??!! All the youtube videos are full of the same thing. Do you guys know anything else than Mario and Zelda?!!! I am sick of these boring games. There are a lot of games there.
I absolutely love the 3D effect on the 3DS. However, the implementation with the original 3DS hardware was a bit lacking, but on the New 3DS, it worked fabulously. I love it and am sad as well that Nintendo didn't continue it.
True it’s way better on the “New” models! Shame the one I have with a capture card is the original style 3DS so I don’t get the benefits when recording gameplay or playing on stream :(
If they make a new Switch with 3d, I'll take back my words to not buy another videogame system. Or if they just, you know, act Nintendo, and surprise us with whatever is next. Better graphics won't impress me, no portability is definitely a no. But better 3d graphics on the go... Can't say no to that, I guess.
Totally agree, I always had the 3D effect on, I can't imagine The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds without 3D. I often hear that people turn off 3D immediately after buying 3DS, but for me it's too bad that the technology never really got popular.
@@ringo_sama Luckily not, so I enjoy playing with 3D turned on. And it's a sad that not everyone is able to get the true expirience from the 3D effect, due to the individual characteristics of each person's anatomy. A friend of mine can't see the 3D effect at all because of his strabismus problem.
Your background of all the 3DS games is impressive! Loved seeing you mention Cave Story 3D and Rhythm Heaven Megamix! I finished Cave Story eShop about a month ago and I’m waiting on my new Rhythm Heaven game to ship atm. So many great games on this platform! Mario, Animal Crossing, Shantae, Zelda, Kirby, so much to play! I still stand by my idea of 3D Zelda games like Ocarina of Time getting ported to Switch and using the Breath of the Wild engine for combat. Would love to see that! Love seeing 3DS content from your channel, hope to see some more on the future!
I LOVED The Ocarina Of Time so much back in the day!! Then one day it comes to my attention that my dad had traded it in at GameStop for some new game :( To be fair it was his game and whatnot, he didn't know I liked the game. I still had some good memories on that game.
I always wonder why Nintendo dropped the 3D as well, for some games it is absolutely brilliant, and it would be fantastic in a more powerful console like the switch if 60fps stereoscopic 3D could be implemented. Recently played through Nano Assault EX and the 3D makes it so much easier to track projectiles. I also loved Kid Icarus but I must admit the hand cramp was intense at times!! I would love to see a remaster for switch...
It was probably because the production cost went down if they just decided not to take the time to implement 3D effects, and while some people (like myself) think the 3D can look incredible in some games, with the 2DS it wasn't necessary to implement it at that point.
The problem was that the implementation was poor with the original system such that if you moved the 3DS even slightly from the correct viewing angle, the screen blurred, and it was painful on the eyes. The New 3DS fixed that, but I think too many people had already sworn off the feature or never upgraded the system. That's the problem with rolling out something cool, but a little before it was ready.
Bruh where were you people when the 3DS came out and everyone decided to collectively shit on the 3D Feature 😂 ? It's almost like the Wii U and the 3DS were perfect consoles that didn't deserve the hate at the time, but did because people are idiots or something
The 3DS is my favorite console of all time, love playing it, love collecting for it. And we share our favorite game! I love kid icarus, I actually have a full binder with like 60% of the AR cards. Really really like the art and the universe, the insane difficulty that the game can have, the slight rpg elements with the weapons. Really great game and honestly the best showpiece for the capabilities of the 3DS, specially at the time, I hope nintendo brings a sequel to the switch. You mentioned that Zelda ALBW was a little too easy for your liking. I strongly recommend hero mode, this game in hero mode is one of my favorite zelda experiences to have and I replay it somewhat frequently on that difficulty. Enemies do four times the damage, which means more deaths, which means actually potentially loosing your rented items, which is great, adds a lot of tension.
I'm so happy to find someone as enthusiastic as I am about the 3D on the 3DS. I can't imagine games like Kid Icarus Uprising or A Link Between Worlds without it. I never turned mine off on any 3DS system I've owned (and I'm an Ambassador).
@MenaceInc It gave me some serious eye strain with the original 3DS, but I upgraded to the New 3DS and that fixed it. Granted, if you don't notice the 3D then there isn't much reason for it. I saw a night and day difference between having it on or off.
Hey, your videos are getting better and better! Not just the content, but your confidence and tone as well. Loving it! Never had a 3ds until just last year, and been building my collection. This video helps!
I love the 3D feature and I think some of the games are unique because of that feature. Also, great selection of games. They’re different from my top picks but awesome to see different tastes. Really cool background, by the way!
Great list! 👍 How nice to find someone who thinks the same way about the 3D on the 3DS. I liked it a lot and it indeed looks best in games like 2D platformers and for example Paper Mario. I think they made a mistake when they marketed 3DS 3D with "realism". Depth doesn't look like that for real! 😅 The good thing about 3D is that it makes things look more like a fold out book or something from those old view master toys (i.e. more fake and plasticy haha). Nintendo are unnecessarily afraid of xbox/pc realism fans who whine about Nintendo games while Nintendo fans clearly are the opposite, looking for games with a cartoony, exaggerated, innovative style "from the idea world / dream world" rather than realism. I think part of the switches success is an organic counter reaction against 20-25 years of dark, gritty and "realistic" pop culture.
The 3D is AMAZING. Starfox 64 shows it off incredibly. Even in the intro cut scene you see the large carrier ship literally pop out of the screen and float in front of you. Very STUNNING. It is still my favorite system of all time and i, too, was disappointed that the Switch abandoned 3D. I didnt buy a switch until 2021. And i bought it for the zelda games...
Excellent list and video! I just bought a copy of Planet Robobot on the back of your recommendation. Can't wait to check it out! Some of my favourites include the Monster Hunter games, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright and Fantasy Life ❤ I also really enjoyed the Inazuma Eleven GO series. The first one is a pretty straightforward sports RPG but the second and third ones have crazy plots about time travel and space travel. They play football against dinosaurs and aliens...it's bonkers. Sadly the third (and for me the best) one never made it out of Japan, so you need to understand Japanese to enjoy it.
really enjoying your content! loved the 3ds stream the other day hopefully more of those will come in the future. loved seeing you play cave story. keep up the good work!
Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed the stream! Planning another 3DS one soon to play through some of the hidden gems for next episode! Hope to see you there :)
Great video. Your tops always include some hidden gems and not only the most well known and repeated games. Agree with your top 3 choices, but my favorites are both Kirby's, absolute classics, just love Robobot and Triple Deluxe. I am waiting for your Kirby retrospective.
I love your picks, and I especially agree with you that KI: Uprising is the best 3DS game!! I play it all the time, and I hope that it gets ported to the Switch!
My favorite game will always be Puzzle and Dragons Z which was nice to play as it scaled in difficulty after a time and there are so many hard DLC monsters to collect
Pretty surprised about no megaten games on the list. Probably the franchise with the most and best games in the 3DS: SMT IV, IV Apocalypse, Strange Journey, Soul Hackers, Devil Survivor 1 & 2... And they're all amazing.
Unfortunately I missed out on them at the time as I didn’t have time at Uni to play many RPG’s.. and now the prices have gone crazy! :( would love to get them sometime!
Great video, I’ve been subscribed since your ds top 15 and always hoped you’d do a 3ds video! My favourite game for the system was fantasy life, story was a bit weak but the gameplay was just too addictive. It always annoyed me hearing people complain about Uprising controls because they felt so good to play for me
Amazing! Glad you're still here, hope the video was worth the wait! :D I've never really put enough time into Fantasy Life, always felt like it was going to take over my life if I played it properly haha, I had a friend who was obsessed with it!
I think a majority of people struggled with dialing in a 3D effect for their specific eyes! Mine didn’t enjoy the default settings. Quick headaches & double vision if it wasn’t held perfectly. I did the super stable calibrate & keep the 3D bar about halfway to 3/4’s up and I’m blown away how good this handheld looks. Not everyone’s eyes are the same! Gotta make it where it works for you.
I totally agree with number 9. In america the game is called pokemon rumble blast and i remember picking it up at toys r us as a kid and its so much fun
For the time I thought no glasses 3D was really fun. I would add in the Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright game that I still remember nearly having a heart attack, when I saw it on the shelf. And it lives up to both IPs. Classic.
Great top 15! I adore the 3DS and I have owned one since it was released. I slept on it a lot through its life span, buying a game here and there, but it’s easily on of my favorite systems of all time. I now own 4 of them, and a nice library of games. I’m happy to say I own 14 of your top 15 titles. I may need to check out Pokémon rumble. I’ve never been into Pokémon games, but always liked the concept. I need to do a top 15(or 20) video. Been on my to do for years. New subscriber here by the way. Keep up the great videos.
the only reason ANYONE complains about the 3D is because of the older 3DS. The New 3DS 3D is downright amazing. I get the feeling Nintendo heard all the complaints about people just turning the 3D off and figured people didn't want the feature, but I hope they bring it back.
15) Cave Story 3D 14) Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance 13) sega classics 3ds 12) mario kart 7 11) resident evil revelations 3ds 10) Metroid: Samus Returns 9) Rhythm Heaven Megamix 8) new super mario bros 2 7) super pokemon rumble 6) animal crossing new leaf 5) shantae and the pirate's curse 4) legend of zelda link between worlds 3) majora's mask 3ds / ocarina of time 3ds 2) kirby planet robobot 1) kid icarus uprising
Some great choces there. I do love 3DS but I lost love with handheld gaming these days. However, I do appreciate how great all these games are. Love it.
This 🎥 was amazing your background setup was super clean. learned about a few new games too. Mate the 3d was biggest selling point for me then and now i miss it i sold my collection worth 10k then for 4k....if i held out till covid 25k..... Yes i never will stop missing the collection
when executed well, the 3D was so much fun and made playing a delight. some examples i loved were the DK country returns port, ocarina of time 3D, and animal crossing.
One game I think should be mentioned is the Superstar Saga remake. I just got that game, and it's amazing. The only bad thing is that the final boss is a little challenging, but that's just me not knowing the pattern that well. However, it is one of those games that didn't play in 3D. I had an original 3DS and a 3DS XL, and every time I turn on the 3D, it gave me a headache, so I just turn it off when I would play for an extended amount of time. I just got the New 2DS XL, and it has brought me back to the platform since both my other systems are broken atm. Hopefully, I'll get my hands on the New 3DS XL and see the improved 3D. I've never tried it out.
I loved the 3D effect, one of the things I hate about the Switch is the fact that you only get a regular portable console and a bad home console. When there where two different consoles each had something unique.
I agree whole heartedly! The 3D aspect still blows my mind and I enjoy every second of it. Of course OOT is perfect, but I found it more immersive than playing BOTW on my 47” screen 2 feet away. The 3D is really impressive, and I love that it’s on a slider. With any luck Nintendo will make more things to utilize that tech!
This was quite the unique toplist! I haven't played most of them and actually I am still not interested in doing so now, but it's just refreshing to hear a different opinion from time to time and your enthusiasm is contagious :D greatly entertained, thanks!
Great list! Enjoyed hearing about what each game meant personally to you too. When I first got my 3ds near release I constantly used the 3D effect (with frequent breaks since my parents were worried it would affect my eyesight). I still feel like it adds a lot, and it's more comfortable to use than ever with the improvements of the new 3DS, but for some reason I usually don't use it anymore when I occasionally come back to my 3DS. I think I just like being able to hold my 3ds however I want without having to think about the 3d effect breaking. For some reason my new 3ds has this weird ghost effect on the 3d as well where in a lot of scenes I can see a shadow/ghost of the image meant for one eye in the other eye. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have noticed the same thing. I believe it part of the way they do the 3-D effect. Which is basically duplication of the image to trick your eyes that there is depth to the screen. I aslo believe it could be based on which of your eyes is your dominate eye. It's definitely not on the screen, but how your brain is processing the 3D effect.
I used the 3d feature 24/7 on my 3DS since my parents never really checked up on me nor cared... they kinda just gave me a video game console to shut me up. My eyesight was absolutely destroyed by Middle School and I feel like that played a big part. I think your parents did the right thing.
@@Nico-ur2po I remember being annoyed at them at first, but eventually I came to appreciate that they were looking out for me. Sorry to hear about your eyesight :(
I see the ever oasis in the background :)) one of my favourite games on the 3DS but so underrated imo. Would love if it got a port to the switch simply because i feel it deserves a second chance given it came out so late in the 3DS lifespan
FINNNAAAAAALYYYY A TOP LIST THAT DOESNT HAVE 70% OF THE GAMES TURNBASED RPGS. I WAS SO HOPELESS THANK YOU !!! IM SO SICK OF BRAVELY DEFAULT UP AND FIRE EMBLEM DOWN... thank you !
I wish I was as excited about 3DS' 3D effect as you are. I didn't think it was that impressive and always ended turning it off to get better battery life. After the "new" consoles came out, I traded my original 3DS for a 2DS XL and never looked back.
I recommend focusing on games that can only be played with 3DS hardware, and I don't even mean exclusives (Such as Pokémon or MH4U), I mean games whose functionality is exclusive to the system. The Airace games for example, which are fast-paced obstacle courses, they take great advantage of the mouse like precision of the stylus and the depth of the 3D screen, so you can take in the feedback and use the controls to make split-second desitions.
Glad to see a different list instead of more of the same (besides a few exceptions). I'd like to see more lists, preferably not "Top" lists. There are way too many games that are solid fun experiences, which are eclipsed by the ones at the top.
What phenomenal episode. ♡ I forgot that revelations has circle pad support so I'll have to try that out! Hope things are going well. So many titles that I missed. "To the game store!" P.S. my partner is starting to tune in to more of your videos! As they have started their gaming journey it has deepened and enriched our connections. So glad that you had a part to play in that ♡♡ thanks boss.

It's alright. After some getting used to it, you mostly just lose the 3d sweet spot when you use the gyro.
Ok
It does not work for me at all. I just end up nauseous (and it isn’t motion sickness as I’m completely fine in vr)

it didn't hurt your eyes or make u go dizzy? with 3d on

They tried it twice and it never sold them more consoles. Very few people talked about or cared for the 3D gimmick. Same with 3D films at the cinema

Looking forward to the hidden gems followup. I personally love the 3D effect.
the quality of your videos paired with your personality make me surprised this channel only has 19k subs. We need to pump those numbers up!
3ds was my favorite system hands down. I agree with your choices. The 2 Luigi's Mansions made great use of the 3d. Also loved Castlevania.
I love the 3D feature and I think some of the games are unique because of that feature. Also, great selection of games. They’re different from my top picks but awesome to see different tastes. Really cool background, by the way!

Even on the new 3DS, I find it extremely disorienting. I turn it off immediately.

Some great choces there. I do love 3DS but I lost love with handheld gaming these days. However, I do appreciate how great all these games are. Love it.
Love the 3D. Never used to use it, but now I do almost always!
Im happy to see someone appreciate the 3d. Mario 3d land is one of the best looking mario games thanks to it. Really does add a lot visually to games.
I’m 20 and got my first 3ds I’m so excited to play these
This 🎥 was amazing your background setup was super clean. learned about a few new games too.
THERE WAS RESIDENT EVIL ON THE 3DS?!?!?! I have been playing the 3ds since it came out and i never knew about this. Thank you for making this video.
The 3D on all the Sega remasters is amazing. Streets of Rage 2 is in my constant rotation
Thanks for the video! I just modded my 3ds and don’t know where to start
Found your channel today, great stuff. Kid Icarus #1, good choice, what an amazing game!
I'm glad Kid Icarus Uprising was on this list. I only logged over 1000 hours on my first file and had over 100 on another one.
I didn't think I needed the 3d effect until I got a 3ds. Fantasy life and monster Hunter generations got played the most for me.
New Leaf was my top played game on my 3DS. It was amazing
I just bought my first 3ds, a new 3ds xl, basically almost BECAUSE of the 3d.
Crazy cool and unique!
I agree and I stand by the fact that Kid Icarus is my favourite game on the 3DS hands down
This was quite the unique toplist! I haven't played most of them and actually I am still not interested in doing so now, but it's just refreshing to hear a different opinion from time to time and your enthusiasm is contagious :D greatly entertained, thanks!
The way you say super Mario Bros winds me up to no end lol
Yokai watch is the best 3ds game ever
Shoutout to Level-5 games, specially Yo-Kai Watch!
I see the Hatsune Miku rhythm game in the background. I was soooo glad I bought that game! It was my gateway into Project Diva for the Switch!
Amazing video! Top gba games next? :)
I’ll do that at some point ;)
@@RetroBreak Legend! :)
Sometimes i see a ghost effect if it’s a dark scene, but it’s not that noticeable the rest of the time
@@RetroBreak Now you mention it, I guess it is mostly in darker scenes.
In any case, I'm glad it doesn't seem to be a defect with my particular 3ds.
Sorry to hear about your eyesight :(
Mario BROSS 🤷♂️🤣 really , great video mate💯👍 ive just bought a 3ds so I can play the Zelda 3D games on it
I stumbled upon this video and am very impressed. Great video, and I love my 3ds too.
I see the ever oasis in the background :)) one of my favourite games on the 3DS but so underrated imo. Would love if it got a port to the switch simply because i feel it deserves a second chance given it came out so late in the 3DS lifespan
This is my first time on your channel. Lovely choices great taste friend
Thank you! Glad you found my channel! Hope you enjoy my other videos too :)
@RetroBreak will definitely check em out. See you have retrospectives. Love gaming history..lol I'm an old school gamer
FINNNAAAAAALYYYY A TOP LIST THAT DOESNT HAVE 70% OF THE GAMES TURNBASED RPGS. I WAS SO HOPELESS THANK YOU !!! IM SO SICK OF BRAVELY DEFAULT UP AND FIRE EMBLEM DOWN... thank you !
Great video! Very concise, informative and enjoyable!! Respect ❤
I wish I was as excited about 3DS' 3D effect as you are. I didn't think it was that impressive and always ended turning it off to get better battery life. After the "new" consoles came out, I traded my original 3DS for a 2DS XL and never looked back.
Kid Icarus uprising is my favorite game of all time, my childhood game
I'm the only one in my friend group who liked Super Pokemon Rumble, it's so simple yet so fun
Woah a rare 3d slider user? Really cool to see what games were actually good with it, since I never really was a fan of that feature
Glad to see a different list instead of more of the same (besides a few exceptions).
I'd like to see more lists, preferably not "Top" lists.
There are way too many games that are solid fun experiences, which are eclipsed by the ones at the top.
Ikr, it's so refreshing to not see someone who gushes over JRPGs or something.
Good list. I’d also recommend Radiant Historia, a fantastic JRPG that you can’t find anywhere else but the DS & 3DS.
I’m trying to find a copy but it’s crazy expensive now 😭
@@RetroBreak I grabbed my copy for $100 CDN off PNP Games. Absolutely worth it, but you could also still download it before the 3DS store goes away.
Picross 3D Round 2: worthy sequel of the original from the ds
I'm hunting for mew in super pokemon rumble while watching this lol. super happy that it appeared on the list :)
Nintendo really need to get their act together (along with the other publishers) and port these games to the switch!
The editing on this video was top notch.
Thanks! I've been trying to improve my editing so glad it was noticed! :D
The fact that kid icarus is your number one I just subscribed
High five fellow Kid Icarus fan! :D
What phenomenal episode. ♡ I forgot that revelations has circle pad support so I'll have to try that out! Hope things are going well. So many titles that I missed. "To the game store!"
P.S. my partner is starting to tune in to more of your videos! As they have started their gaming journey it has deepened and enriched our connections. So glad that you had a part to play in that ♡♡ thanks boss.
That’s so amazing to read! Thank you both for watching my videos and getting something from them too! Wish you both lots of happy gaming memories together!
Aeesome, i got a new 3ds xl last year and i need games to play it when the winter comes
With the eshop closing soon, this is a helpful video.
Good video and the DS is still the nuts of a console but strangest way of saying "bros"
Wow your shelves looks amazing
