The 3DS was actually one of the better new Nintendo consoles, but some of the side things you get like Swapnote and AR Cards were stupid. The games were awesome though.

I have had my "NEW" 3ds xl for 7 years, (since it came out) and the circle pad is still in great shape.
My 3ds broke last year but the circle pad wasn't damaged at all, had it since 2015. I'd also prefer ps vita over psp

4:13 I'm probably not the first person to point this out, but there actually is. The box on the top screen with the game's icon slowly fills up with orange. If you opt to Download Later and try to launch the game from the homescreen before it's done, you get an honest to goodness progress bar.
5:16 there's no way as far as I know for a device to distinguish automatically between a full size SD card and a microSD card in a microSD to full size adapter.

3:16 that's because the nes games had a feature where you could swap players with L+R+Y. Since Snes games used L and R already, they had to change to ZL+ZR+Y
The circle pad is basically an improvement over the original move buttons. Usually, the only thing that triggered me about the 3DS is the battery. It literally keeps dying on me even when I was about to complete a game.

Actually, you can tell how long it's going to take to download stuff from the eShop because the icon on the top screen shows how much of the download is done, and downloading it from the HOME Menu shows a progress bar and a percentage.
at the age of 8, after discovering my 3DS has AR cards hidden in the manuel, I could not stop playing the AR games. I would search on TH-cam for all of the AR card tricks like putting an AR card on a red surface during the fishing game (You catch Cheep Cheeps). It would be super nostalgic to go back and play those mini games! The times!

That happened to my New 3ds and I lost the piece so I had to take the rubber piece from my broken 3ds and put it on, as well as use double sided tape to hold it in place because it's slightly too small.

5:13 it's actually asking if you are using a mini SD (in an adapter) which is one of the three types of SD cards but is no longer being made or a regular SD card and it's telling you to select no if you are using a micro SD card in an adapter

I have a new 3DS XL and I love it. Although I didn’t already have an XL and my hands are huge so that probably played a big part in it.
(Also the face tracking 3D actually got me to use 3D more)
The only things you can't play are Xenoblade 3D and (perpetually, as it runs at 10 FPS on an old 3DS) Hyrule Warriors Legends.
Still would get one but don't replace an old one with a new one.

4:12, haha, if you actually payed attention for a minute you would notice that a bar behind the game icon slowly goes up as it downloads, so you actually CAN tell how far the download is in.
@nathaniel bandy, there is a progress bar. Its on the top screen not the one below. It shows the app icon and surrounding that icon is a loading bar

With the turning off bit, you can just press and hold the power button. You dont have to press the button on the screen.

Can't think of anything else to comment so I'm just going to post a waffle recipe.
Ingredients
250g Flour (plain)
7g Baking powder
20g Caster sugar
5g Salt
475ml Milk
2 Eggs
30ml Vegetable oil
Method
•Weigh all the dry ingredients, place in a large mixing bowl. Break the eggs into the milk and beat the mixture.
•Add the egg and milk mixture to the dry ingredients. Add the oil and mix all ingredients together until all the large lumps have been broken up. Do not over mix otherwise the waffles will be heavy when cooked.
•Pre heat the waffle maker and spray with oil (1 cal spray works well).
•Pour 3/4 of a cup of batter into the waffle maker and cook for 3-4 mins or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
•Serve hot with maple syrup. Also good served with sliced banana or blueberries.
•Cooked waffles can be frozen and heated up in the toaster. Unused batter mixture can be kept in a container in the fridge for up to 2 days

No really, especially if you hack it and have a R4 around...
If you hack it, you can play almost (if not any):

- SNES
-PS1
-GB
-GBC
- Virtual Boy
-GBA (either natively or actually emulated)
- DS
- DSi
- Master System
- Sega Genesis/Mega Drive
- Neo Geo
- And even FREAKING Windows 98!
The 3DS also has a camera, that supports 3D, if used right, any photo can look very beautiful and detailed.
And don´t make me start with Nintendo 3DS Sound and the Web Browser, they definitely upgraded the DSi versions a lot.

Why? Hacking it unleashes its true potential, the baterry lasts longer, enhanced debugger, can soft-reset at anytime, and much more!
If you get banned, you can literally just unban it, the method depends on the case, but it´s always possible if it´s hacked.

Unlike the Switch, the 3DS actually supports GBA, DS and DSi natively.
I´m glad there has never been a 3DS game that uses these processors too.
By the way, I have both, the 3DS and the Switch, but I personally prefer that 3DS more.

A much simpler way to transfer SD Card Data from a OG 3DS to a New 3DS:
1. Remove the SD Card from the original 3DS
2. Plug it into a laptop (Most laptops contain an SD Card Port)
3. Get the New 3DS's MicroSD and put it into a full size SD Card chip (MicroSD Adapter)
4. Once you have the old 3DS Card inside the laptop, copy all the files onto your desktop and remove it.
5. Put the new SD Card in and paste the files.
Done.
This bypasses the whole send from this system recieve from 3ds transfer crap.
It also takes like 5 minutes or most of the time far less compared to the built in transfer feature.
I still play Smash 3DS. More than the Wii U version actually.

NB the reason that Super Nintendo Entertainment System games weren’t available on older 3DS models is because the CPU in the 3DS 3DS XL and 2DS apparently couldn’t handle SNES games which adds more reason to upgrade to the 3 “new” 3DS systems.
