Another good way is to go in with all Djinn on Standby and summon Eclipse twice, Charon, and depending on summons you can do left, maybe a third Eclipse. Until that team dies, you focus on using all summons you can, and using the strongest psynergy you can until that team is completely dead, then you repeat with the second team, he normally goes down after the 3rd Eclipse summon from the second team, or soon after that. Takes no more than maybe 6 or 7 turns at most. Note, my whole team is lvl 50
If you're lvl 99 you could probably just get away with having all the characters in their standard classes and have Mia spam Pure Wish every turn while Issac, Felix, and Garet/Piers just whale on him with attacks, or alternatively have Garet as a Ronin (iirc) and have him use the Ronin version of High Impact. Either way you don't need to use Djinn at all if you're lvl 99
CranberryLembi True that. I've gone through the game on one file so many times my characters are INSANELY overpowered. I've beaten Dullahan just using one character, Felix. I laugh at Dullahan's pathetic attempts to hurt me. It's just hilarious. He can't hurt me, no matter how many Djinn Storms he uses. XD
Actually Megiddo ALWAYS triples damage, it just doesn't have a flat damage bonus before the triple, but because it always works at full power, it's better than the others over a long battle
One pattern that you apparently had not discerned at the time you uploaded this video - and this is advise for everyone else as well - is that after using Condemn or Curse, Dullahan ALWAYS - I mean ALWAYS - uses either Djinn Storm or Charon. He may even use Djinn Storm and Charon in the same turn. If he uses Curse or Condemn at the end of one turn, use Petra or Ground to make him lose one action in the next turn or, better, use Lull to skip that next turn altogether. Of you can't do either of these, use Flash or another shielding Djinn. This will not protect you from Djinn Storm at all, but will reduce the damage done by Charon and Formina sage. Also, 'Haunt' is a precursor to Curse and Condemn. If you see him use Haunt, which is usually in one of his relaxed turns (the turns in which he doesn't bring utter disaster to your party), paralyse him or use Lull or a shielding Djinn.
Depends on the luck of your draw. I tried summoning hoards of Daedelus and then watching the missiles go boom as he kills my party. When I actually DID get around to attacking him without it, I got like 8000 Hp down before he offed my front team. Backup team being 10 levels lower did not stand a chance.
I beat him 4x in the arena (3x consecutively) with no summons and no losing my front row, he`s not 'easy' but you have to know what you're doing, then things become manageable.
well here's what i did i used elemental items like planet armor thats as +15 resist on each element. the thing is to set proper djinn for each character cuz trying to do hybrid element won't works against duhallan since he can drain them so u would eventually lose the advantage of the mixed classes. if u use garet all fire if isaac all earth etc. by doing this u get a decent att and def and gain the best elemental def and elemental att which increase ur psynergy and special weapon effectivity
eh, I find the best way to defeat him is to have one adept of each element on each team and use the most powerful summonses possible(aside from charon) and then just pray that your fire adept lives long enough for the full effect of daedalus to occur
ok it may not be called vorpal sword (but it was something like that) its a monster drop, du u remeber the island in which u get the summon catastrophy? (where there is wonder birds) there is a monster that llooks like a bblue demon (not sure if that is also its name) dops this sword (small sword) its unleash is called vengeance, and if lucky it hits 7 times (sometimes 2 or 4)
@WoWPlAyErn Dullahan is in the Anemos Inner Sanctum Golden Sun 2, go to Contigo were the teleport pad is use teleport (Get at Mars Lighthouse) And your in the Inner Sanctum. It's a optional dungeon and Dullahan is technically the hardest boss in the game (Super-boss)
Yeah. My Tactic was to remove refresh ball and guardian ball whenever they appeared. I never got excalibur (hard to get, really annoying), but is it better than the Sol Blade?
thank you for the info !) so this way the party can be upgraded beyond the first gameplay max. good to know... then if in the first GS2 gameplay you have transfered data from GS1, and then you start a second gameplay in GS2 using that same file you finished, you still need to transfer Hans data from GS1? or Hans level remains from The Lost Age file you finished? sorry if I didnt explain myself well... its kinda difficult, but thanks for sharing knowledge !)
@nannabelli It's not easy to do summons on him cause Dullahan has this move called Djinn storm like the one at 3:48, which drains all of your Djinn of your whole party so you can't use them to summon. After that happens, your party will have trouble healing themselves to stay alive. And Dullahan can easily 1 hit KO the party with his Charon summon attack.
Issac's Attack Power stat was 999 WITHOUT Djinns! Without a weapon on he had somewhere in the 700's range. My Felix's HP was Maxed out too. The full (1999). you'd think that a game like this it would go higher too. :( Case: i was extremely powerful in the Lost Age. If i took on any human player with them it's a high chance that i'd win in 2 terns or less. Despite me wasting my life on Golden Sun though i never really did get to Level 99 in the first game. The training was wayyyyy too
true, dullahan does kick ass. i only beat him by summoning constantly. i've never really tried to fight him with other methods except for in battle mode after i've already fought the star magician, sentinel, or valukar a couple of times.
I beat Dullahan when I was around lvl 70... summon rushing never worked for me because I was always slower than Dullahan. EVERYtime he would use Djinn Storm and... GG
I know what Eclipse is... I even had fun getting it, because IMO, it's the easiest one to get. Simple Lucky Medal into the middle of the Lemuria Spring, and you get it. It's even easier than it sounds if you'd first read about it. Deadalus, on the other hand, is a nice summon that hits on 2 consecutive turns. But the name is harder for me to remember.
However... .... there is a slight problem with that as well. Despite transfering your levels & stats to a new game **Your Dinjins Don't Follow!** You don't need to play Golden Sun if you just want to max out your stats in the Lost Age, ***But if you want ALL the Dinjins (and any equipment obtained from Golden Sun) You WILL Need to Use The Code That you Got From Golden Sun Again, when you start your (Clear Data) new game on Lost Age.***
Let's just say were playing the Lost Age, and you saved the Clear Data file after beating it. From there iyou start a new game on the Lost Age. Now (after you've named any characters you wanted to name) it will ask you if you want to play Easy Mode. You say 'Yes'. Now when you begin your new game on Lost Age you'll have the EXACT same Stats & Levels as you did on your Clear Data. You can do this every single time you beat the Doom Dragon, and save Clear data.
One thing you should know that will please you: Issac's Party Level & stats from your clear game in Lost Age will be the attributes transfered Regardless of you using the Level & Stats code from Golden Sun. So no, you'll only have to use the code from the first game again if you wanna retain all Dinjins & Equipment. Your level from the first game won't be transfered too if you decided to use your Clear Data from Lost Age when starting a new game. :)
then it means in a game boy advance version you can start over the same file all over again to maximize the stats?? I mean I trained a lot in the first Golden Sun and transfered data, then trained both parties to lvl.99 in The Lost Age but as you say it is not possible to get the stats to maximun in a sole gameplay... then if you start a new game over a cleared data file with lvl.99 you can keep increasing power?? never knew such a thing... is it really possible? thanks for the info !)
@takaru15 Which items? I fought him at lvl 42 and I had all of these items...some are forge items and others are rare drops from different monsters. But using RNG methods none of them are killer hard/impossible to get.
He Djinn stormed the lot which was what crippled the party in the first place. At full power, my front party could survive Formina sage with a respectable amount of HP left. Really, scrambling to revive them was the problem but this was before I knew that Djinn recovered in the back party as well (since I never use summons, they would never need to be in recovery anyway)
I thought so. Megiddo duplicates to triplicates damage. Thats why I like to increase attack to the one who weilds it. Dosen't work so well with Dullahan tho.
I see thanks, so its *easy* for The Lost Age party to max stats... but difficult to Isaac's group to do that since you need the transfer code for each new game, in order to keep Djinn's and stuff, and keep their levels... is quite long indeed 0.0 thanks for the info Jennifer :D
Well, at least you didn't spam that one summon that attacks now AND later.... it's been a while, so I can't remember what it's called, but I know it's an ancient mecha thingie XD
if u heal at least every 2 roun u cant lose this fight, 1 thing to do is best equip and good tactic adapt urself fast to any siuations, like if u get hit by djin storm switch automatically ur main healer by the 2nd massive healer like jenna to get recovery time for mia. most important char are jenna and mia
I managed to defeat dullahan without summons (I did use ramses once, but just cause it was faster than setting the djinns back). My party was all lvl 60, except for jenna lvl 61. I just gave everyone items that increased criticals, and Petra/Ground so it had less attacks. (The time I used ramses was because I forgot to set it back).
I was referring to the Doom Dragon! Not the Fusion Dragon! You can't get a full 999 (1999 for HP) in all your stats even with the help of the original Golden Sun, on your first play! You might wanna re-read my previous replys again. I don't think you understood what i said.
To take down dullahan easily you have to stanby ALL your djinns, First team Felix, Isaac, Jenna and Garet, summon daedalus, and then keep attacking and summoning until it kills your first team, then Summon Eclipse and dullahan dies due to the daedalu's side dmg
Formina Sage hurts like hell... Couple that with Djinn Storm, and you have a lot of pain. A key to countering Djinn Storm (Ironically) lies in a Djinni. Put the mercury Djinni Eddy in your backup party and after Dullahan uses Djinn Storm, swap a person out for the person with Eddy and unleash, then carry on normally. As for Formina Sage, a high Defense?
hmmm you could have tried turnin every 1 into ronins, that class has the biggest attack bonuses, also you could have used excaliburs for 1000+ unleashes...
Maybe they forgot to encode that on the emulator or something. your supposed to be able to do it once you beat the Doom Dragon, (watch the credits.. >_> ), save clear data, and then start a new game right on the Lost Age. Once you've clicked on "new game" it will ask you if you wanna easy mode. Say "yes" to that, and then you start the game all over again at whatever level you beat the Doom Dragon. It lets you do this in the Gameboy Advance.
hmm...lv 50+? I beat him at lv 40... of course I did summon spam...but since that didnt kill him outright(he still had like 3000HP after all the summoning I did), I had to finish him off with regular attacks and some psynergy he still had like 3000HP after all the summoning I did
Star Magician is kinda hard, but just more annoying. I beat him on my first try, but it took three hours =P. The blasted Refresh ball and Guardian ball you should take out first. It took so long because I wanted everyone to get experience, so I had to constantly revive. After the battle I got like 54,700 experience...
im sry but im still not convinced. I have found that excaliber has a higher max damage and thats coming from my own golden sun expierence. It is true that it has a change of only hitting once but it also has the same chance to hit three times and when it does triple hit, again the max damage is higher. The tisiphone edge is the same way imo. Again the sol blade is very overrated and imo there are other wepons that are better.
You should probably use Mia, she gets Pure Wish which is just awesome, or something for the healing. If you have characters to the point of unleashing every turn or not unleashing only once every so often I'm fairly sure that the damage will be adequate. Also, see how you like the item Tomegathericon(sp?). The great thing about it is that the character who has it will always have access to revive. That and you get to watch Dullahan attack himself.
the best lucky type unleash is the one from the VORPAL SWORD (is lucky despite) the sword is strong itself, and u can have as many as u want (but requires some really anoying trick to obtain) that can surpass meggido, by usuallly 200, maybe 400 depedning on character and lvl (atk X7 if unleash is at best) if the unleash is not the best it will still do a lot of dmg, not exesive, sadley
@lilstephon9 I just told you those guys are not nearly as powerful as Dullahan, just because you can defeat them doesn't mean you'll even stand a chance against Dullahan. You won't understand what I mean until you fight him for your first time.
Yeah, I suggest Isaac is Ronin, while Felix is just his pure class. You only need one Ronin because with no Fire Djinn, Jenna can't do anything. Now that would be bad. Plus, if some bosses/monsters are weak against Earth, there you go =).
i used it so set the wind and the earthb adpets so they can summen charon then use the other summons team still keep using eclipse or ulysess then some normal att and he's is dead
yeah thanks!! I know it, this is how I trained the party in my gameplay, felling the wonderbirds with a Mercury Djinn gives a lot of exp... and if you fight two in a group and you're lucky enough, one can revive the other and increase the exp. gained a lot XDDD the only fast way to get to lvl.99 thanks :D
i dont believe it is, when excaliber hits 3 times the dmg is higher, the sol blades avg dmg may be higher but overall excaliber will do more in the long run
nice battle, but it's away more easier with summons. i know it's the cheapest way but in pure combat is really hard and you need to be a little lucky because of the djinn storms
Deadalus. If you want a really easy win, have Isaac, Felix, Garet and Jenna spam it until they're all dead, then have everyone else spam Ecclipse (The massive Yellow Dragon)
@BigOChunk Dude, i know what you mean......but i may have a slight chance in beating him....you just got to have the right stradegy, trust me....i have great experience in this game.
thats normal in battle mode the monsters are stonger than the 1st time u faced them, also it depends on which round u fought him cuz the further u are in battle mode the stronger the monsters become every rounds
k, gees, sry, its been hard to remeber all unleashes and good swords, especially cus i havent played in months, but thx for clearing up the name anyway
@wolfspirit9 go to coolrom.com, go to emulators, download Visualboy advanced emulator, then go to ROMS and u can download any gba or gbc game and play it on the emulator
nah i never used summon against him anyway cuz u had to many chance to get ur djinn drained. i beat him with melee and psynergy thats all i was lvl 50 isaac's party and lvl 39 felix's party. finished the fight with all members alive. u simply have to set right ietms and djinn for better elemental resistance
it's hard for me though..even though my team lvl is 99...and yet still he still beat me... Maybe b'coz jenna's djinn kept recovery b'cos of his Djinn Storm...And mia's too...
I agree with Force of Nature. Worst strat to do when facing dullahan. My party consisting of lvl 53-54 defeated dullahan with ease. With 2 attacker and 1 flash shield and granite shield /heal.
That's right! you can keep restarting it over as many times as you like. Now, I'm sure your aware the max Level a character can go is 99 right? However, it IS possible to continue on increasing their stats. Do you remember what an Apple does? Or Lucky Pepper? It's suppose to perminantly increase an attribute. You can find them in the same locations again once you've started a new game with your Clear Data. Now do you see where I'm getting at? That's how you max out a character.
long for me! It got so boring battling the same monsters over and over again at the Venus Lighthouse. i swear i even started to notice the pattern in which monsters were gonna randomly spawn first. YEAH! That Bored! Point: these stats are laughable. Though i already said that. lmao. But i rated the video a 5 anyways because it broght me back good memories. Maybe i should buy my Golden Sun games back and play them again. Or maybe i'll just move onto the Third game of Golden Sun for the
Actually, It possible to beat this guy in two turns, using the Djinn Lull. Search it up, I've watched it. I think It's called "Dullahan - Total ownage" or something.
Golden Sun is considered one of the best RPG's out there.
To this day this holds up :)
XD

golden sun was one of the best games I've ever played ^-^
It's called the Tisiphone Edge, and although it looks like its hitting 7x, its only 3x. However, it is the strongest light blade in the entire game.
One pattern that you apparently had not discerned at the time you uploaded this video - and this is advise for everyone else as well - is that after using Condemn or Curse, Dullahan ALWAYS - I mean ALWAYS - uses either Djinn Storm or Charon. Even though hes level 99 I still found it more impressive than just summon rushing/defensive djinn.

I've gotten the Rune Blade there. It was a very useful weapon for most of the game.
@shuangxing66 You're slightly mistaken too :P Easy mode doesn't make monsters weaker, it's the fact that YOU are stronger due to keeping your levels.
important try to anticipate duhallan movement like planify a mass heal before a deadly strike and boost ur party with psynergy or somm djinn
@WoWPlAyErn
Dullahan is in the Anemos Inner Sanctum Golden Sun 2, go to Contigo were the teleport pad is use teleport (Get at Mars Lighthouse) And your in the Inner Sanctum. It's a optional dungeon and Dullahan is technically the hardest boss in the game (Super-boss)

If I were a programmer, I would not call this boss "Dullahan", more like "Mega Fucker two thousand".
i cant remember this boss but i finished the game as i were like 7 years old lawl D:
i dont understand why so many people found him hard
i forget... what summon do u get from this... Iris?
Star Magician is kinda hard, but just more annoying. I beat him on my first try, but it took three hours =P. The blasted Refresh ball and Guardian ball you should take out first. Also, see how you like the item Tomegathericon(sp?). The great thing about it is that the character who has it will always have access to revive. That and you get to watch Dullahan attack himself.
the best lucky type unleash is the one from the VORPAL SWORD (is lucky despite) the sword is strong itself, and u can have as many as u want (but requires some really anoying trick to obtain) that can surpass meggido, by usuallly 200, maybe 400 depedning on character and lvl (atk X7 if unleash is at best) if the unleash is not the best it will still do a lot of dmg, not exesive, sadley
where can u get the darksword?
@shuangxing66 how did you get on lvl 99
oh Felix! Arther wants his sword back or he's gona make you chop a tree down with a herring!
@lilstephon9
I just told you those guys are not nearly as powerful as Dullahan, just because you can defeat them doesn't mean you'll even stand a chance against Dullahan. You won't understand what I mean until you fight him for your first time.
Excalibur, Sol Edge, Aura, Wish Well, Level 40. That is all you need to beat Dullahan. Flash is also reccomended.
Erm, since this is recorded I presume you used a ROM to play it, please tell me where you got the rom! I've always wanted to play this game again!
Why arent u using the sword that shoots arrows, dont remember the name of it. But i had it only when im lvl 74, then i lost the game dam shit
yeah thanks!! I know it, this is how I trained the party in my gameplay, felling the wonderbirds with a Mercury Djinn gives a lot of exp... and if you fight two in a group and you're lucky enough, one can revive the other and increase the exp. gained a lot XDDD the only fast way to get to lvl.99
thanks :D
6:13 Sheba: "pussies! let the babes take over now!"
medjai89 and Ivan is there too.
i dont believe it is, when excaliber hits 3 times the dmg is higher, the sol blades avg dmg may be higher but overall excaliber will do more in the long run
nice battle, but it's away more easier with summons. i know it's the cheapest way but in pure combat is really hard and you need to be a little lucky because of the djinn storms
dude...you had the firebrand on PIERS when GARET was in your party? you do know that firebrand raises your mars power, right?
where did you get that excalibur weapon btw?
Deadalus. If you want a really easy win, have Isaac, Felix, Garet and Jenna spam it until they're all dead, then have everyone else spam Ecclipse (The massive Yellow Dragon)
Aweful player.
How mach days did it take you to go to leve 99?
Are you playing on the Gameboy advance? or the Emulator?
After you tell me which one i need to know if it's the American version or Japaneese version.
@BigOChunk I beat Star Magician, Sentinel, and Valukar....so i think i could be prepared for him.
@BigOChunk Dude, i know what you mean......but i may have a slight chance in beating him....you just got to have the right stradegy, trust me....i have great experience in this game.
thats normal in battle mode the monsters are stonger than the 1st time u faced them, also it depends on which round u fought him cuz the further u are in battle mode the stronger the monsters become every rounds
nice mod
Holy shit, where is this guy? I don't remember fighting him when I had my turn with Golden Sun.
who was your healer?
k, gees, sry, its been hard to remeber all unleashes and good swords, especially cus i havent played in months, but thx for clearing up the name anyway
You know, Tonic or Salt can remove those annoying spirits, and Restore removes those candles.
How do you get your levels so high???
I wish I had my chars lvl 99 before this epic battle, but it's too late now =(
Omega MK VII?
I agree with Force of Nature. Worst strat to do when facing dullahan. My party consisting of lvl 53-54 defeated dullahan with ease. With 2 attacker and 1 flash shield and granite shield /heal.
what is highest lvl in game lv.99?
i don't remeber this guy is he in lost age or gs 1?
I noticed that at 1:29 Dullahan's Charon takes 257 damage on Piers, and yet he is killed even if he has 1349 HP. Glitch?
That's right! you can keep restarting it over as many times as you like. Now, I'm sure your aware the max Level a character can go is 99 right? However, it IS possible to continue on increasing their stats.
Do you remember what an Apple does? Or Lucky Pepper? It's suppose to perminantly increase an attribute. You can find them in the same locations again once you've started a new game with your Clear Data. Now do you see where I'm getting at? That's how you max out a character.
It is a very long process, but that's how you do it. That's how you max out a character.
If your going to do normal attacks which is fine... if you have the right djinn and item setup..
Overall no. But the triple sword unleash is stronger than Megiddo. Except that Sol Blade unleashes EVERY TURN.
long for me!
How do you get on such high levels?!?!?! D:
