He played Ivan correctly. Ivan was never supposed to be about high damage. He was utility, Ivan stopped the casting of Outer Space, the strongest attack of Fusion Dragon, by continually buffing the party with High Impact. This makes up for a lot of his loss of Damage Dealt Per Turn (DDPT) in summon damage from all three remaining players. He baited Fusion Dragon into a constant situation where he had to curb increased Damage Over Time/Turns or DOT vs DDPT or Damage Dealt Per Turn to the players. The additional damage dealt by the player, due to the strength buff from High Impact caused Fusion dragon to cast Break. Essentially Fusion Dragon was not programmed in a way that he could not reliably make a choice between the mechanic and going for the kill. He could only respond to the player's strategy, without advancing his own strategy. Static. It's the players fault if they lose against Fusion Dragon.
@@jon2kx I think he meant it as a joke. because ivan and sheba have such low stats in both games. it's obvious they'll die often when playing the game for the first time and/or if you're new with rpg turn based.

what?? i use djinns as often as I can, every fight, especially boss fights. I always thought they are pretty op because of the insane defensive buffs or big hits they can inflict
Thats all i use is djinns in boss fights. I hardly use pp attacks unless all the djinns are used up or healing. You have everything you need when you have 7 or more per element.
Isaac: ........... Garet: Seriously, nothing? Not even so much as a twitch from the eye? Isaac: .....*nonchalantly "oh my goooooooood" * Ivan: Alright jackass no reason to be sassy.

Try to secure a version of valkyrie profile lenneth (psp preferably) its on ios now. Not as good as GS but very close. Octopath is pretty good and xenoblade chronicles 2 is VERY GOOD.
I remember fighting the fusion dragon as a kid, I was lost by the story and all signs indicated I was at the halfway point of the story, so when I came back I reset my game. It wasn’t till I got halfway through my second play though that I realized the dragon was the final boss.
@@andreaswibowo6177 Oh man, i remember raging and being stuck for like a week with Dullahan. I had to grind levels so much to even be able to last more than a few rounds

Awesome job ! Epic Finisher ! I will never understand why Saturos and Menardi gained such a power boost in Venus Lighthouse while Isaac and Garet gained just... nothing... (Not even at least the loosy PP restore for Isaac like Mia had in Mercury Lighthouse)
If you pay attention, Isaac's PP is continually refilled every turn. But yeah, the lighthouses beacons should have had a bigger effect on the battles. Big boosts to the element and the opposite elements adapts should have struggled.
@@jonathanbradley4896 also the reason issac pp keeps coming back is cuz of a item that regenerates your pp each turn pretty sure everyone in the party can equip this item
I recall getting destroyed by the dragon at least six times...i snapepd...grinded two more levels in the tower and came back up for a rematch...took 3 more tries but beating this final double boss fight was insane to me 20 years ago
Being honest, this game is kind of absolute in terms of final bosses and dungeons, its just well made on all senses and the final bosses are not only dammage sponges but hurt you hard, forcing you to use EVERYTHING heck, I were moving from the light house to Vale because I wanted more dyjins and Farm EXP because the boss beated my ass hard even before defeating the phase 1
unfortunately, I cannot get past the Fusion Dragon unless I am at least level 34. It is that difficult for me. It's also the last time I take my brother's advice.
Cuando lo jugue por primera vez en aquel entonces la verdad me sorprendió demasiado y a estas alturas de la vida sigo pensando que el trabajo que hicieron en este juego y en el 2 es algo fuera de lo común.
I remember the first time I fought this dragon. The excitement I feel that they have more fight to give, and the panic I have after using all of my summons. Very precious memory.
I love how Saturos really suckers you in to think he might actually be planning a peaceful solution only for that, "well you see you guys arent leaving here alive....so yeah" such a great moment with the way that devious music drops.
@HunterRyosuke because Saturos and Menardi are the main villains of the game so its only natural that they gain a massive power boost but Isaac and Garet doesn't.
... i lost to the fusion dragon at level 59 since the have issac and garent do the heavy damage stopper at the begining while the other 2 start there summons then the other 2 follow u
Is this speed playthrough? Because when I beat this boss it so easy with well organize dejin (for job buff) and 2hit sword (a rare drop from monster before final boss room). Anyways, to beat him at this much hp is so awesome.
As a Kid me and my friends gave up in the doom dragon but later on when I already had a job I purchase a platform that can play goldensun and I had a rematch with the final boss
