16 Pause-BLJs

for reference, normal running speed is 30 and long jump speed is 50.

when you press the A button, you jump, right? but you can't press the A button again until you let go of it first. So, jumping as much as possible looked like this
[A] [] [A]
New discovery is that you can let go of the button in the pause menu, so you can effectively press the A button every frame, making the input look like this
[A] [] [AS] [] [AS]
Apply this to BLJs, and now you can go much faster than previously thought. This is called a PBLJ.
TL;DR pressing pause lets us press A every gameplay frame, so you long jump every frame as opposed to every other frame.

1:55 140k speed isn't enough to reach those out of bounds areas (we now call them PUs, BTW), you need at least 196608. Did you mean to write 1.4M?
Also, about those PUs, they're copies of the level arranged in a grid, repeating every, get this, *65536* units. I think the significance of that number is enough info you need to figure out what they are.

2:33 i tried BLJing there in PC. After about a trillion tries, Mario managed to gain super speed (not hyper, he wasn't that fast) and get up the stairs. I already had 70 stars so it was not endless. The problem with BLJing in PC is Mario don't get stuck in a repeatedly jumping position. His jumps rarely get glitched but even when it happens, he returns to normal quickly.

BLJ's work because the programmers set a positive limit (such as an object like a wall having a greater limit than mario can achieve). However none was set on the negative and going backwards gives a negative value. I'm no programming expert but thats my understanding
