Series 3 finalist here (Camping Adventure) - I can confirm that the Bricklink team is working a lot with me to make the set have improved stability to be closer to a normal Lego set experience, highlighting potential issues I wouldn't have noted on my own. It's been very helpful to improve the model, so it should, in my experience so far, hopefully prevent issues like this in the future, as you mentioned.
Just looked up your creation - INSTANT need! I set a reminder for October 8th! I owned a camper so similar that is near to my heart, many memories made. I HAVE TO HAVE IT! Well done! 👏
@@dansmith9569 awesome, glad to hear! Thanks for sharing that, it's always great to hear those kind of stories from others. I hope you enjoy it if you end up picking up a copy!
I think your set, besides being on the smaller side (meaning it will also be less expensive) is quite great and on a similar quality level in terms of looks as this very goodlooking Ocean House. It is good to hear you are still working with Bricklink to improve on the design. Often enough, I noticed from buying designs from Moc builders from rebrickable, or downloading free ones .. the vast majority of Moc builders are extremely talented when it comes to looks, but not everyone is building for strength and playability. Best of luck on your very fun and cool looking set, I will try to buy it for sure when it goes into crowdfunding in October.
@@pinobluevogel6458 thank you very much! Indeed, it's surprisingly hard to make a model strong, especially when designing digitally, so it's great that they help with that so that it can be up to more typical Lego set standards.
There are certainly faults with Lego as a company, but sending review copies is certainly done to the most critical of reviewers too. This isn't even an official Lego design. Also they take a risk when sending those copies out for review, but in my eyes it is a necessary one.
Sad because not everyone has hundreds of $$$ to spend on lego and a lot of people will miss out on these sets. I would have loved rivendell but it is soo expensive, and I made a model of it with mdf kits for much cheaper
I don't think it is brilliant in any way, except for having more cool looking designs available. Everything else about the process is extremely mediocre. The fact that the sets are not always up to lego's standards is a thing, but the most important factor is the extremely limited availability, both in number of total sets made and in the extremely short time window to buy them. (for popular sets) Even if you are in time and get to buy a set, you don't even get the set until half a year later. (which is a minor letdown too) If they want to make this a great thing, they should simply print to demand. Make sure everyone gets at least one e-mail notice that the sets are going up for pre-ordering, then give everyone 2 weeks or so to decide and order their copies, then one last e-mail as a final notice and then you close the sales process and start printing sets. It is not rocket science or anything. I'm extremely sure they will sell many more of the popular sets (possible twice as many or more) if this is done in a print-to-demand way.
What bothers me that the house doesn´t have a back wall. I have got same issue with the Lego manuals, sometimes it´s impossible to say what color the brick supposed to be.
I really like the look of this house. The colour really works. It’s a shame the roof is so frustrating but like you said I can probably fix this with ball joint connection. Will still pick this up as I want to pair it with my windmill and the next one in this theme.
I really love the aesthetic and vibe of this set, and for that reason it's the only one in its series that I preordered. I'm honestly surprised it didn't sell out, kind of wish I'd ordered two for resale. I can already guess there will be things I modify on it though...
Has to be one of the best looking sets in the last few years and it's not even official. I'll fix the structure of the roof. It will look great out there in the island water next to Barracuda Bay!
The roof is shockingly shoddy, and there is no reason why they didn't make an actually solid connection for the panels. Also there's a lot of gaps if you view it from above that don't really make sense to me.
the biggest problem i had with building this set was the "wooden" floor. there were so many little tiles on it that it started to bend and didn t connect properly with the pillars which resulted in a realy fragile build
I don’t know if you know this but a new bricks and minifigs is opening near fredricksburg! I’m hoping to go there opening day but I have a feeling it’s going to be packed 😂
Hello sir, you are my favourite Lego TH-camr! I was wondering if you have any recommendations for display cases and stands for Lego ships! Thanks for all the great, positive content!
SO do the designers have an opportunity now to improve the models before they produce them or is that all already set in stone? Gotta say I'll be picking up this set even with the roof issue. I's probably end up tweaking the set anyway. Good review!
Seems odd to me that the house doesn't have a bedroom. Also it is odd that the back of the house is open, and I think the water could have been done better, maybe some transparent blue tiles or something.
Good review but sadly not a set I'm willing to buy. It looks pretty great, at least from a distance, but apart from the structural integrity issues that you showed, I don't think it fits with any of my current settings and themes. Also, 200 dollars is just a bit too expensive for what it offers. If I can build a similar or close to similar design for far less by simply ordering pieces from Bricklink, or in this case even from Lego PAB itself, the set is simply overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful design .. and if it fit with anything I had, I'd certainly consider it. But as it is, I don't think this is worth it's pretty high asking price, considering how insanely many bricks you can buy for that to build your own Moc.
But why can't/didn't you push down on the reddish brown center section of the roof? Why would you even ever need to touch the side roof panels? To lift it up you'd put your hand underneath the entire roof (since it is open in the back) and lift up, and to put it back you'd press down on the center section which to me looks sturdy enough. Not that I disagree, the side panels should've been attached better, but I don't think it's such a massive dealbreaker as it's made out to be unless you're buying this as a play set for a child. Most who get this will build it, put it on display and never touch it.
I feel like you dwelled too harshly and too much on the aspect of the roof - like over half the review on this one point. When I get mine, I'll just modify it to be sturdier. I appreciate the side by side comparisons with other sets. That really helps understand the scale of the set
I don't like it. This is one of those things I look at and know I could moc up something I like a lot better for probably less cost and a better scale to display with other sets. Its just a giant beach house with not much going on. Reminds me of those Avatar sets that nobody bought but 3x the price with janky unfinished water.
I appreciate your pointing out an area of instability, although I don’t see it as quite the big deal breaker as you do. The attic is largely empty except for the rat and cheese, so I don’t see a reason to be taking it on and off all the time.
The water looks terrible. Not just the pastel color that doesn't look like any body of water anywhere, but the fact that it is a solid color through and through. At least the tiles could have been clear to mimick crystal clear shore water. But even that is just so blocky and repetitive with the same exact 2x4 tile over and over in straight lines. And then the unfortunate choice of putting the azure wedges into the boat. The old dark blue baseplate worked much better to fake water in an onlooker's mind.
Its okay, nothing that great. We could have had an Emerald Night with five carriages for that piece count. Instead we get this no wheels no carriages no rails thing.

I do have to respect Lego for always sending stuff to you with how honest your reviews are.

This set is way bigger than it looked to me in the pictures. This set is beautiful.
Your honesty in reviews pushed me to pull the trigger on the series 1 Mountain Fortress!
Gotta hand it to Lego, selling MOCs at real set prices without having to do the QA work was a brilliant move.
And also slap the "very limited" on the sets so everyone who is remotely interested gets the fear of missing out. Fantastic.
Sad because not everyone has hundreds of $$$ to spend on lego and a lot of people will miss out on these sets. I would have loved rivendell but it is soo expensive, and I made a model of it with mdf kits for much cheaper

The brilliant move by LEGO was done in 2019 when they purchased Bricklink & now control all the markets. Sad really...
@@pinobluevogel6458 I think that was OP's point. Brilliant for Lego, not for fans.
Love these sets. Lots of creativity going into the design. All of them have been super fun to build
They should have added clear pieces in the water it would have looked better. The plain blue looks outdated. Otherwise the set looks good
Also mixed tiles with plates with studs, not aligned to one plane, really bad for that price
Riverside Scholars looks so good
What bothers me that the house doesn´t have a back wall.
I have got same issue with the Lego manuals, sometimes it´s impossible to say what color the brick supposed to be.
Will you also put out a review of the ominous isle? That is the one I am most looking forward to for series 2.
pretty sure Lego splits them up among reviewers...each gets one...I think it is Brickfanatics that i just saw out with the Ominous Isle review
Ah that’s why
This set looks gorgeous. Reminds me of Lurelin Village from Breath of the Wild
I really like the look of this house. The colour really works. It’s a shame the roof is so frustrating but like you said I can probably fix this with ball joint connection. Will still pick this up as I want to pair it with my windmill and the next one in this theme.

my dad also has dual molded legs
Darn! Didn’t realize the connection to the Windmill, which I do have, so now I feel like I need to get this one as well. 🤦♀
I'm really hoping I can get this one. I just wish that it had the back wall.
In the Serie 2 the worst Set. The others Sets form the Serie 2... I love it😍😍😍
Really like this one. Will look great near an old fishing store set.
Beautiful

Definitely grabbing a train station 😊
Cant wait to see it on your IG mate! :)
@@DarthJuraBricks 😁🫶, I just preordered it this afternoon 😊😊
Looks amazing great detail great review 👍
Hi David i wanted to ask you have you ever bought off brands beside lego for your star wars army. If so do you recomend them.
I think the crane may be a shark reel? I may be wrong though
It looks so nice i think im willing to overlook the flaws
This one’s *awesome* O.O Dam

i need to make a lego hammock
They should of done the roof with technic hinges. The 1x2 b looking one not the 1x2 brick.
is that not a handle on the top to take the roof off?
Question, where is the geonosis Finale
When reviewing these, can you actually pick which set you'll recieve or is it at random?
Excellent.
Not worth the price. Seems to lack substance too.
What are you talking about? This is literally the most vibrant set ever and not to mention. It’s a full display piece. Go kick rocks.
@@tmandoesgamesv2.018most vibrant set ever? Okay
@@tmandoesgamesv2.018like splatterfrog said, have you not seen Rivendell?
It's gonna be fine sitting in my display case...
Wiw 🙌
Can't you glue the roof somehow?
It looks very nice, but after you mentioned the problems, I'm not sure anymore. 🥺
it's called lego. the roof can be modified.
Do you have a mullet? I can't tell
Sucks the only really affordable one is in series 1. Nothing in the next 2 comes close to a smaller/more manageable set
Mushroom House seems very reasonable to me
Hocus Pocus next to this looked way better.
I will say, the floor (water) on this looks really bad, just with the random tiles holding the plates together

Хороший домик, но дорого стоит
This is a $140 set all day

Even at 120$ I wouldn’t be comfortable with the price, 200$ is outrageous. It’s plastic pieces at the end of the day…
weirdly asian build with the whitest looking minifig family hahaha
