Thank you! Both this and the "LEGO Aliens!" video were so much fun to make, and I'm glad they've been so well-received! You all should let me know if there's another specific creature you'd like to see me do a video history on.
Just a tad disappointed that you didnt mention any of the Ninjago Movie sets in this little shark expedition! The Shark Army was such a fun thing to get in minifigures from the movie and my brother owns most of the shark mechs.
There was a lot I was unfortunately not able to fit into this video. I could almost make a part 2! I really wanted to buy some of those figs in particular but I blew all my money on that Forma skin xD All the LEGO Movie sets and figures are honestly so well done
I can't believe the Creator 3in1 Deep sea Creatures shark didn't make it into the video! That one (To me, at least.) is iconic, and one of a few select set's I've ever bought multiples of. It's also still on the market despite having come out like, six years ago or something.
A speed build I made of the Shark build from the 31088: Deep Sea Creatures 3-in-1 set became my most viewed video, so I'll always have a soft spot for it, even if I enjoy the classic shark design more.
I think LEGO 31088 - Deep Sea Creatures revolutionized not just sharks but animals in general. Since then LEGO keeps making awesome brick built animals in the 3in1 theme. And I think that shark is still the best looking one LEGO has ever designed, maybe the new Jaws one is better but is surely took inspiration from that Creator set. 🦈
I just love this style of video from you. Where most creators would just make a review of the set, you take the most interesting part and give us a history lesson and really break down how Lego has changed over the years. I always look forward to your reviews of new Lego products for this reason.
I'm so glad to hear that - thank you! As someone who only watched "Jaws" about a month ago, I hardly felt like an expert worthy of 'reviewing' the set. It gave me the opportunity to come up with this far more interesting approach, and it sure was a fun video to make, too.
Fun fact: this set was originally made by fellow lego youtuber, Hachiroku24. They made the set over 3 years ago, and im glad to see its finally out. They also made the lego ideas insects with the butterfly, beetle and praying mantis
For Lego, the sets I most wish never used stickers were water themed builds so that I could’ve played with them in the bath (this was when I was like 7 or 8)
Regardless though, it's such a cool set. I wish I had gotten into LEGO earlier though - I was about six when it really became a big part of my life. I had been distracted by other building toys beforehand!
3:57 And that's why mojang never add shark to Minecraft But hey.. That's just a theory.. A GAME THEORY.. (MatPat was never retired lol) - And as always, thanks for reading and noticing :[]
Ah, the long awaited and sneak-previewed shark video! It was fun to see every type and mix of shark or sharklike structure. I think nothing was better to conclude the video with than a good old fashioned sharkstack.
I'm a very big fan of these sort of videos that you make, they are very interesting and include a lot of awesome facts. I especially was quite intrigued by the last shark, really obscure and weird but still very awesome
Thank you! I'm really glad I went out of my way to get that Forma skin. It probably hasn't been featured a whole lot here on TH-cam! I'd definitely like to do more videos in this style.
The Atlantis hark takes me back, man. I remember when they give it to me for Christmas, Atlantis was one of the core collections of my childhood (I would love a revisit of it, just saying...). Fantastic video as always, thanks!.
The shark from Deep Sea Divers is my earliest LEGO Shark memory. Feel like I built it 100 times as a kid! Seeing the evolution over them over the years was awesome, I'm surprised at how few brick-built sharks there's been. That being said hands down the JAWS version is a tier above all others
The Jaws shark is insane. Definitely feels more like building a MOC than building a set! The way the designer even captured that inner mouth detailing is incredible.
One of the most recent iterations of the Larger Shark figure is my personal favorite. It’s got the dual molded colors to resemble a great white, and also has more realistic expressionless eyes. It looks very much like a properly realistic Great White for minifigures to interact with.
when i was in a store, i actually saw a creator shark set of lego, its like that one lego bricked shark that can turn into a red (i forgot the name of it😅) thing and a blue squid, basically it was a repaint tho
Love the Atlantis Shark, I have so much nostalgia for it, carrying it around disassembled in the box and trying to build something different out of it’s pieces, but always going back to the regular build
Some other less standard lego sharks are the takeya from 2002's bionicle rahi builder set, pridak who is allegedly a shark themed bionicle set and jawblade from hero factory breakout
A particularly memorable set for me was the early 2010s deep sea exploration vessel which came with a whopping 4 sharks of different varieties and an octopus
Personally, I love the shark from 31088. Its proportions are a bit funky but it's an amazing parts pack and is super popular for making custom alternate builds!
I love videos like this, talking about a very small topic(lego sharks in this case) that a lot of people wouldn't even think about. It's kind of like a short retrospective of one specific thing. Like I saw a video a couple of weeks ago just talking about the different types of lego dragon wings. Or a video ranking the different Big Figs made over the years.
Holy crap! I remember when i was like 9-10 years old and was so obsessed with lego sharks 😂 Edit: Bro i remeber the AGENTS shark so well, i wanted one so badly 😅
One of the first things I built custom on my own was a huge shark built from I think an AT-ST primarily. Tons of mobility and working jaws. I also had a boat that went with it.
I remember buying a lego set based on the ninjago movie, it had a minifigure with on of the garmadon soldiers with a shark helmet. It was Christmas and I was so happy, a very memorable day. And the minifigure itself was pretty cool too, I still have it )
Amazingly thorough! As I saw more and more obscure sharks pop up I was wondering if you'd include the Forma one--loved seeing it in motion! The eyes are so simple and clever.
Seeing comments like this make my Forma investment feel worthwhile! Really glad to know it's appreciated. It's such a strange set and it was great to be able to showcase it here!
To this day, I still have the iconic shark mold a year before it got discontinued from one of the small old lego city sets and since then I displayed in one of my mocs in a Sci fi aquarium
I love classic 2 piece sharks, just as much as I love the classic dragon! Btw, i believe that lego agents shark is meant to be a Laser Shark, the kind that evil villains love to put in death traps for secret agents to be killed in as they leave before the job is done. My latest is the Pirate Ship shark from the latest pirate themed set, a charming little brick built one with happy little eyes.
I would love to see a late 80s version of the Jaws set. Using the classic Shark and old building techniques. I think that would have a lot of charm to it
Nothing will ever beat that classic original shark, it's what feels the most like LEGO to me. While LEGO is supposed to be jovial, I've never really liked the more cartoony designs of prints that began cropping up in the 2010s era, it might just be my old man yelling at cloud energy, but there's something about a more neutral expression that makes things more versatile because you can have something be both realistic or goofy. I'm also fond of the Tiger Shark from Aqua Raiders because I just love that theme.
Wholeheartedly agree. Maybe it's because I'm just an old LEGO dude too now, but man, the classic dinosaurs, shark, dragon, etc... they're perfect. That IS the LEGO aesthetic
I love 31088 Deep Sea Creatures from a few years back, a great shark plus a cute lil crab. In addition to the three builds that come with instructions in the box, Lego released a fourth one online (a doofy whale fella), and people have gone absolutely CRAZY with this set on Rebrickable. If you can think of an aquatic creature, someone has probably built it from this set!
The Creator 3-in-1 Deep Sea Creatures shark is in my opinion the best LEGO shark ever. It's so perfectly realistically proportioned and the set itself is one of the best sea creatures parts packs ever! Like the Mighty Dinosaurs set, sometimes LEGO Creator just knocks it out of the park
I have still to this day a classic shark n.n I had much fun with it back in the day. I have also 31088 Creator 3-in-1 "Deep Sea Creatures" shark, and it's quite nice for a relatively easy built n.n
I thought that jaws shark was so beautiful sculpted and clear that there was much work put into it. Love the sharks, my favorite with always be that Atlantis one as I’ve got so many fond memories from it!
I came here specifically to make sure the Aquazone shark and Atlantis themes were included! Otherwise I’d be using my Atlantis trident as a pitchfork to riot! Good video! lol! Yeah, Forma is a weird one for sure, but the Koi looks awesome, and it's fun to see it in motion. Glad I was finally able to give my Koi some screen time!
My favourite sharks are the Agents one and the beautiful brick-built one from Deep Sea Predators. Agents shark is fun and silly, while Deep Sea Predators is probably the most lovely looking one they’ve made
I love the hammer head shark and classic basic shark but I never knew they had a skeletal one, now I hope for a all skeletal shark in the future for like a museum or sunken undersea thing!
2:50 Yooo Aqua Raiders tiger skark! I love that disproportionate looking dude. Wow the undead shark mold looks awesome and I like that Forma shark too.
There's been a surprising amount of variety over the years! So glad I was able to pick up the undead shark. No idea if I'll ever be able to use it in a MOC, but it's sure cool to have!
@@CheeseyStudios The Forbidden Island pirate set was one of my first lego sets when I was a kid (I was born in 1985), so I'm glad that it was mentioned
I would like to pick that one up at some point! Looks awesome. Wish I could have included more sharks - there's just so many! Here's another one of my favorites: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
There are even more! As I watch this I have two sharks here you didn’t cover in the video: the newest Creator sea creatures set with the big blue shark model, and the semi-recent gift with purchase Pirates shark island set where the cave itself is a shark’s head rather than a human skull. So fun.
There was a lot I was unfortunately not able to fit into this video. I could almost make a part 2! This is another really cool shark set: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
With the speed they are running out new molds with these explorer sets, it wouldn't surprise me to get one eventually. To be entirely fair, I have never even seen a baby shark, while this isn't the case for many other animals.
Definitely not a video I expected to do this year, but I ended up having a ton of fun with it. There's an impressive amount of sharks in the LEGO portfolio!
Regret not getting that Ultra Agents set. It has so many now valuable elements that I'm dying for. I want that mechanical shark for a Black Manta vs. Aquaman MOC!
There was also a LEGO brick-built shark in a LEGO Creator set, it was dark-blue, used a transparent light green bar for the eyes, and you could either make a shark, an anglerfish, or a third creature that I forgot 💀
Did you hear about the shark ghost?
It vanished into fin air
HAH that’s great!
The shrouded ghost from hit videogame sea of thieves?!
lol
the classic lego shark will always have a special place in my heart, imo the newer printed face animals fall a bit short of capturing the "Lego aestethic".

It's quite fun! Whoever decided to slap that on made a good call
I can't wait to see you so a video like this for Lego snakes
Ooh, that's a good idea too!
There was also the shark with the Lego Creator Pirate Ship and the recent Shark Island GWP.
There's so many sharks that I was unable to cover unfortunately in this video - LEGO has made so many! One of my favorites is the X-Pod shark
@@CheeseyStudios The Forbidden Island pirate set was one of my first lego sets when I was a kid (I was born in 1985), so I'm glad that it was mentioned
There's the creator 3-in-1 set with a Shark as a main build. It's more than just a shark but it's a cute little set.
The Creator 3-in-1's lately have been incredible
The coolest shark is definitely the zombie one from Pirates of the Caribbean
So glad I was able to pick that one up! It's seriously awesome
Sand blue is a really nice shark color. I hope we get the big shark in it soon!
That would be so cool!
Needed a mention of 31088 Deep Sea Creatures but other than that, FINtastic!
heheh :)
Alas you missed the best shark, the relatively recent creator 3 in 1 shark. That set is so good, with so many different ways to create new creatures.
I would like to pick that one up at some point! Looks awesome. Wish I could have included more sharks - there's just so many! Here's another one of my favorites: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
Set 31109 has a brickbuilt shark too, its a fun one!
I've gotta get that at some point! Here's another one of my favorites: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
@@CheeseyStudios oh my thats a cute one! Never heard this before :D
I think my favorite brick-built shark is the on e from the Deep Sea Creatures set. it's affordable and it's one of the first Lego sets I was gifted.
I do need to pick that up at some point - it looks like an awesome set!
I really liked the 3 in 1 shark set. It’s so cheap too so it’s a great gift, it’s often on 2 for £15 here in the uk too.
That's an epic deal. I've really gotta pick that set up!
If they can make Jaws, they can do Godzilla as long as Toho allows it.
That would be so epic
I can't believe Lego is making Jaws, day 1 for me! Thx for the Shark overview! I have a few older sharks but this brick built actually works ! 💕
The new Jaws shark looks fantastic. It has almost no poseability/playability, but it's certainly incredibly well sculpted
Everyone talks about how LEGO is obsessed with frogs, but never how they’re obsessed with sharks.
Right??? Sharks have been around way longer than LEGO frogs 👀
There are even more! As I watch this I have two sharks here you didn’t cover in the video: the newest Creator sea creatures set with the big blue shark model, and the semi-recent gift with purchase Pirates shark island set where the cave itself is a shark’s head rather than a human skull. So fun.
Here's one of my favorites that I wasn't able to include: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
Awesome video
Great to see Ultra Agents mentioned
That theme sure looks a lot cooler than I remember. The villains look awesome
Great Video! You did forget about the LEGO Creator 3 In 1 Shark and the LEGO Ninjago Movie Shark Army though!
There was a lot I was unfortunately not able to fit into this video. I could almost make a part 2! This is another really cool shark set: brickset.com/sets/4339-1/Aqua-Pod
Maybe it’s autism but I like biological things to not be brick built. But I get how a giant shark figure isn’t as fun as building one
LEGO is definitely able to capture a lot smoother shapes that way, so I get where you're coming from!
Quite surprised to see that LEGO never produced a baby shark
With the speed they are running out new molds with these explorer sets, it wouldn't surprise me to get one eventually. To be entirely fair, I have never even seen a baby shark, while this isn't the case for many other animals.
Or at least a mould for those little sharks they always let you pet at the aquarium!
You forgot the recent shark-ship from Lego Dreamzzz! Truly an epic video, I appreciated the shark deep-dive.
Definitely not a video I expected to do this year, but I ended up having a ton of fun with it. There's an impressive amount of sharks in the LEGO portfolio!
Now that we have Jaws, can we get a Sharknado set?
the dream
imagine, there's a crank at the bottom and it spins
basically a money printing machine for lego
I still think that the old sharks are really good I always use them for water MOCs
They're kinda perfect! I'll always love that classic design
with all those sharks you should do a Zoo Tycoon Marine Mania moc!
I could have the CRAZIEST aquarium ever lol
Regret not getting that Ultra Agents set. It has so many now valuable elements that I'm dying for. I want that mechanical shark for a Black Manta vs. Aquaman MOC!
Ultra Agents set prices continually shock me. There's some cool ones for sure though
My big brother trying to look serious 0:36
My big brother when I accidently step on his slipper 2:51
so true
There was also a LEGO brick-built shark in a LEGO Creator set, it was dark-blue, used a transparent light green bar for the eyes, and you could either make a shark, an anglerfish, or a third creature that I forgot 💀
Squid, can also make a sperm whale.
I've gotta pick that set up at some point - a lot of people have been talking about it! I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than the Forma one too 🤣
