    This has to be the best camera work I've ever seen on one of these mechanic video's. Thank you for that. It's looking like my starter motor is done, I just get rapid clicking and no turning over when I try to start it. Thankfully it's dead in my driveway. Charging up the battery to make sure that's not the issue.

    • @richardcalderon1777

      Was it your batter or the starter? Mine just started doing that rapid clicking also with no turnover. Thanks in advance.

      Mine won't turn over its cold out it was struggling last few times I've started it anyways so I'm going to change the starter soon if the lights are coming up its not the battery from what I've heard so gonna change the starter

    This video is so amazing. 90% of the video I watch on how to repair stuff have an insane amount of rambling and not getting to the point. You do a great job sticking to pertinent information, your camera angles are great and you don't skip over any steps. I now feel confident enough to attempt to replace mine. 💪

    Your video is to the point, and detailed, thank you for that. I did continuity tests on every fuse and the starter was the last item on the list. Funny thing though the video made it look like there was more room than there actually is.

    This is an excellent video. This is exactly the symptom my '08 showed today. Gonna test it real quick and order the starter after confirming the original is dead (wouldn't be surprised, it's 15 years old/205,000 miles). Thanks!

    Just replaced my starter for the first time today with my dad. This video is amazing and did a great job explaining and showing the steps. Getting into the hood of an altima was a nightmare though because there's little room to work with.

    Thanks for the video. very helpful. How do I know if it is the starter or the brake switch? I have seen a number of videos and links saying the same symptoms could be from a brake switch issue. I replaced my brake switch same issue remains (lights on, no start). I think it may be the starter, or maybe a fuse? The battery is new.. Thank you again!

    For anyone who has already done this I have a big question. How did you get to the starter? I know where it’s at, but it’s in a tight area and my hand is way too big to get there comfortably or even at all to even begin to take the starter out. I can see in the video that he puts his hand in and is able to get in out with ease, but that has not been the case for me. Please and thank you

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just disconnected the battery so that the 12v starter wire wasnt live while removing starter in case it touched ground. Besides erasing saved radio station and possibly any obd2 codes stored if you have any, it did not affect anything else for me.

    I have a question and I'm hoping you have an answer. Im no mechanic by any means. I'm pretty sure my Nissan Altima 08 went into lockout mode. I took out the anti theft thing in the steering wheel, placed a while and am holding it down with a bolt. Before my car wouldn't even turn on, now it turns on but won't start. I then thought it was the starter, so I replaced that and my Nissan Altima 08 still will not start up. It turns on but won't start. What could it be?!?! Any help is appreciated.

    Is it easier to take drivers side wheel and dust cover off and go in from there or do you think it’s easy enough to go in from the top. Just looks so tight even getting a multimeter onto the posts to test it.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I like doing it from the top. I never did one on these by taking off the wheel well cover. I just take Air duct off, air filter cover off, push the radiator hose over. For The bottom 16mm starter bolt i just got a normal length 16mm wrench in there and broke it loose by just pushing down towards the floor, radiator is a little close but a wrech will fit. Do whats easiest for you my friend. And good luck, thank you for Subscribing!
