Someday these videos are going to be studied because they aren't just about fashion. They are a archive of this moment in time in New York during a historic period. Cataloging the social, economic and artistic challenges faced by people and how they survived this dark time with style and grace. Keep up the great work.
Right? If they were simply just a montage of clips and backing music, only showing the clothes, they wouldn’t have half the appeal. It’s the conversations and stories behind the clothing choices as well as the personality of wearer that add so much depth... these videos are like mini documentaries. They capture so much more than fashion.
NYC is an ageless, gender jumping, ethnically diverse style attracter. Thanks for your keen eye on what makes this city a feast for the lovers of the unique.
I just love these videos so much , not only for the fashion insite but just the sociology , seing the interconnection between people , hearing everyone’s unique words and seing their smiles . I also just love how warm Karen is she seems to attract the kindest hearts who immediately warm to her , it’s a perfect illustration of how none of us are truly strangers . Spot on. These mini documentaries blur the lines between art, culture, sociology, psychology, freedom, politics, ethnicity, creativity... I could go on! Incredible
Beautiful words, and you are definitely right about people warming up to her, you can see it in their eyes, I'm sure no matter what type of day they have they go with a smile because a women on the street just shared their passion for fashion and appreciated their particular style, specially for the older ladies and gentleman, who are not generally appreciated in these modern days.
"Used to be a style icon now I'm an apparition". I find myself smiling constantly for a full 30 minutes, this series and you, are a true mood booster Karen!
Do you realize the joy you are bringing to people When you are asking someone what they are wearing and telling them how wonderful everything is makes them and us smile and feel great. Love the ripple effect thank you ❤️.
Karen. Netflix, Amazon or Apple should snap you up for this series alone! You should franchIse it in every city in the world starting with your home city. It’s phenomenal. The people have used ingenious ways of putting their outfits together & the stories behind them are charming. All this, together with the beautiful backdrop of New York City, makes for totally engrossing viewing. Just the tonic we need for these troubled COVID times!
Every time I watch I find out about a new designer I never heard of and immediately Google them. And I love how folks express themselves through style.
