I was not able to do it too many times because my daughter would be embarrassed. KarenBritChick Hi Karen, Re puffa trousers- I spent my childhood in them up until about the age of ten ( we are talking early to mid- 80’s). They were cut like jeans and you could get them shiny or matt, lined with coloured flannel. I had one in burnt red with tartan lining. I absolutely hated it. And these were for every day not for sports.
I love looking at NYC through your POV. It’s easy to be jaded if you’re a native New Yorker. This is a reminder of how lucky we are to be here. Variety abounds! Ox

I’m watching this at the time of my fathers passing.....I’m so touched to experience this visual slice of life moving, life flowing, color, lightness, warmth and chill, all dancing on in celebration as others fall from earth. He was an artist and would have loved your portrayal of not just fashion inspiration but artfully diverse expressions of humanity.
As Bill Cunningham once said, “ fashion/ style is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life “ It definitely gives me joy seeing how people express themselves through their clothing.

Every time i watch WHAT EVERYONE IS WEARING IN NEW YORK brings me tears in the end. I would say it have almost spiritual touch because of your approuch to people, your respectfulness, gentleness and sensibility . Wish you all the best and to people all around the world
the guy in the black and white Rick Owens coat, i dont know what,but something about him radiated a good energy that came through on camera. But maybe i am biased as Rick Owens fan too :)
I have a pair of puffer pants very similar, but in black. It gets cold in the winter where I live too---near Prescott, AZ. Even below zero temps sometimes. I love all the different styles people exhibit in these videos, but I'm glad I live out in the country, and don't have to deal with big city life. (Jan Griffiths).
The thing that jumped out at me was how everyone was really happy to stop and talk about what they were wearing and share their style secrets. So many unique looks and gorgeous colour combinations! You can spend all the money in the world on fashion but a sense of style can't be bought.
I really love how everyone brightens up when you talk to them about their style: they are safe, seen and celebrated - they really do smile deeply back at you. It's so nice that you interview everyone. I am learning so much about our culture. Thank you.
Karen consider writing a book... please. You capture the essence of people and the beauty I see in a city I was born in and find hard to return to somehow manages to give me hope, encouragement and renewed faith that LOVE is what created us. This series is just incredible.

I like these videos because of the relaxed and free atmosphere of the city. Where I live, all people dress the same, and if you wear something outrageous, everyone will stare at you. I'd like to wear whatever I feel reflects my personal style and originality....
Thank you for including the Australian wildlife rescue needs in this video. As an Aussie, I can’t tell you how heartbreaking these past two months have been for our vulnerable native animals and of course those who have lost loved ones and their homes.
This series is getting better and better... it feels more like a crossover between journalism with short interviews on the street and mini documentary with a personal voiceover. Result: it feels like this could become contemporary classic series (lol, that’s a bit of a juxtaposition but you know what I mean 🤪). Cheers Karen! Carry on the series!

I am a 71 year old woman who loves clothing and I live in a small town in Virginia. After watching one of your videos for the first time last year I finally realized that everything we wear does not have to match - how wonderful they look these lovely New Yorkers that you interview and how dull the rest of us are in the way we dress! I adore New York City and always look forward to a visit. Please keep these videos coming as well as your regular videos - so much fun to watch.

I am a NYer who moved abroad and this series makes me feel wonderful. NY style is a really unique thing, a really unique experience. It isn't the shallow pursuit that style is often accused of being. NYers take style by the horns and make it their own, and a simple self expression. A simple joy. When I'm feeling a bit homesick these 'What everyone is wearing' videos makes me smile and reminds ME of my own take on fashion, even if those around me in my new city don't really understand. What I find interesting is I noticed what a different perception of money New Yorkers have. For them a 200$ jacket is a "find" or a "steal" while for me and most people I know that would be quite an expensive jacket 😊
You do a good job. You can spot good style. It only takes a minute to compliment someone - and they will talk forever . Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
I love these episodes of "what everyone is wearing in New York" so much that every time I watch a new one I don't want it to end. Seriously this is my favorite serie on youtude regarding fashion.
I am rewatching this video today, having watched it for the first time last night. I have gone back and re-watched portions of your old videos from this series if something or someone was particularly inspirational and I needed to absorb more of it. People here in the comments are right. It's not just the fashion. It's not just the magic of NYC. It's you. There is no network or commercially produced fashion series that holds a candle to this....and I have been watching, reading, and absorbing fashion journalism and TV since I was about 12 years old. I'm 50.
There's something soothing about these videos. Your tone, the people that we are meeting and the music just makes your videos one of a kind. You are also spreading the message that it's OK to be yourself.
The brilliance of your production is how along with all the fashion statements you also include the setting and environment ... all those lovely shots of the city ... keep doing what you do ... be well dear Karen. Thank you for sharing your passion.
This New York Fashion Documentary will remain in time, and I bet I am speaking for more people when I say we appreciate the work you do. I want to applaud your effort and dedication. Hi Karen. I get so excited every time you upload a video and when you do the street style I can barely contain my emotion. I treat the video like I’m eating a delicious dessert that I want to last a long time. I watch a little and then I put it away and then I watch a little and I put it away. I savor the last minutes of it and feel sad when you’re doing your closing speech but absolutely grateful that you share such an amazing series with us. You do an excellent job that draws the audience in and inspires us to create. Thank you for all you do. 😊
I wish I could just jump right into the video! I'm a Chicagoan and I love the level of diversity and creativity in fashion, regardless of budget. Even being in a big city, it seems there's so much more inspiration in NY.
Karen, I suffer from fairly debilitating depression and your videos are one of the last things that genuinely bring a smile to my face. NYC is my favorite city! It showcases how beautiful and colourful not only the people are but the city itself. I got goosebumps at the end with your commentary. Keep doing these. They are a gift. ❤️
Firstly, your ability to connect with everyone is impressive! Also, these episodes truly document NYC Fashion in movement-- it's the perfect example of what seeing photos of people in NY and London in the 1960s and 80s felt like to me growing up -- but even better. We see how the colours change in the different lights, how the textures work in movement on the individual and in the context of their surroundings, and then how the people themselves feel about what they're wearing and why they wear it, and THEN you get your reaction to it--you've displayed fashion at its core: moving, cultural, intra and inter personal expressive art. I'm amazed.
Karen I was so excited all week anticipating seeing Episode 8. You definitely did not disappoint. I love this series so much. It was also so nice that you took time to recognize the Koalas.
Karen I absolutely love all your videos. I live in a smaller town in upper Ohio and it is wonderful to see what styles and designs people are wearing. There are always a few people in your videos that you seem to capture that special something, whether you call it their essence or aura it doesn't matter because it makes your videos all the more special. Your love of fashion and what you do shines through and that is just one of the reasons why you are one of my favorites on You Tube.
Love this series. Thankyou NYC for your support of Australian wildlife. I am from Australia and have driven through the devastation this weekend and contemplating the destruction of our wildlife- amongst other things is traumatic. Many of us in Australia want to apologise to the world for our intransigent government and lack of action on climate change and the impact on the world of these fires. This support brings tears to my eyes.
maryrose Thanks my husband who is a volunteer fire fighter was on the fire ground yesterday blacking out- hoping to be getting to the other side as we are expecting good falls of rain this weekend. People here are very tired and frayed around the edges. We have just come through our peak holiday season ( like your August) but no-one is refreshed and reenergised- unless they were OS during this saga. Please pray for our politicians that they take strong action on climate change- the climate wars are alive and kicking in this country. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers it means a lot to us. It has been an horrific start to the year.

I am a NYer who moved abroad and this series makes me feel wonderful. NY style is a really unique thing, a really unique experience. It isn't the shallow pursuit that style is often accused of being. NYers take style by the horns and make it their own, and a simple self expression. A simple joy. When I'm feeling a bit homesick these 'What everyone is wearing' videos makes me smile and reminds ME of my own take on fashion, even if those around me in my new city don't really understand. Thanks Karen, I love these :)

What I find interesting is I noticed what a different perception of money New Yorkers have. For them a 200$ jacket is a "find" or a "steal" while for me and most people I know that would be quite an expensive jacket 😊
You do a good job. You can spot good style. It only takes a minute to compliment someone - and they will talk forever . Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
I love these episodes of "what everyone is wearing in New York" so much that every time I watch a new one I don't want it to end. Seriously this is my favorite serie on youtude regarding fashion.

I am rewatching this video today, having watched it for the first time last night. I have gone back and re-watched portions of your old videos from this series if something or someone was particularly inspirational and I needed to absorb more of it. People here in the comments are right. It's not just the fashion. It's not just the magic of NYC. It's you. There is no network or commercially produced fashion series that holds a candle to this....and I have been watching, reading, and absorbing fashion journalism and TV since I was about 12 years old. I'm 50.
Karen, apparently you are blessed with the spiritual gift to bring out the best in people.
The people you interview have such great dispositions.
There's something soothing about these videos. Your tone, the people that we are meeting and the music just makes your videos one of a kind. You are also spreading the message that it's OK to be yourself.
The brilliance of your production is how along with all the fashion statements you also include the setting and environment ... all those lovely shots of the city ... keep doing what you do ... be well dear Karen. Thank you for sharing your passion.
This New York Fashion Documentary will remain in time, and I bet I am speaking for more people when I say we appreciate the work you do.

Hi Karen. I get so excited every time you upload a video and when you do the street style I can barely contain my emotion. I treat the video like I’m eating a delicious dessert that I want to last a long time. I watch a little and then I put it away and then I watch a little and I put it away. I savor the last minutes of it and feel sad when you’re doing your closing speech but absolutely grateful that you share such an amazing series with us. You do an excellent job that draws the audience in and inspires us to create. Thank you for all you do. 😊
I wish I could just jump right into the video! I'm a Chicagoan and I love the level of diversity and creativity in fashion, regardless of budget. Even being in a big city, it seems there's so much more inspiration in NY.

Karen, I suffer from fairly debilitating depression and your videos are one of the last things that genuinely bring a smile to my face. NYC is my favorite city! Firstly, your ability to connect with everyone is impressive! Also, these episodes truly document NYC Fashion in movement-- it's the perfect example of what seeing photos of people in NY and London in the 1960s and 80s felt like to me growing up -- but even better. We see how the colours change in the different lights, how the textures work in movement on the individual and in the context of their surroundings, and then how the people themselves feel about what they're wearing and why they wear it, and THEN you get your reaction to it--you've displayed fashion at its core: moving, cultural, intra and inter personal expressive art. I'm amazed.
Karen I was so excited all week anticipating seeing Episode 8. You definitely did not disappoint. I love this series so much. It was also so nice that you took time to recognize the Koalas.
Karen I absolutely love all your videos. I live in a smaller town in upper Ohio and it is wonderful to see what styles and designs people are wearing. There are always a few people in your videos that you seem to capture that special something, whether you call it their essence or aura it doesn't matter because it makes your videos all the more special. Your love of fashion and what you do shines through and that is just one of the reasons why you are one of my favorites on You Tube.
Love this series. Thankyou NYC for your support of Australian wildlife. I am from Australia and have driven through the devastation this weekend and contemplating the destruction of our wildlife- amongst other things is traumatic. Many of us in Australia want to apologise to the world for our intransigent government and lack of action on climate change and the impact on the world of these fires. This support brings tears to my eyes.

maryrose Thanks my husband who is a volunteer fire fighter was on the fire ground yesterday blacking out- hoping to be getting to the other side as we are expecting good falls of rain this weekend. People here are very tired and frayed around the edges. We have just come through our peak holiday season ( like your August) but no-one is refreshed and reenergised- unless they were OS during this saga. Please pray for our politicians that they take strong action on climate change- the climate wars are alive and kicking in this country. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers it means a lot to us. It has been an horrific start to the year.

I am in Southwest Florida so practically nothing here is relatable, but I love the inspiration of the styles and the people in these New York City videos. Maybe Karen can collaborate with other TH-camrs.
