- 4 Months Later… My Black Friday Order from Fanatec was finally delivered. Watch me exchange all major components on my Alpine TRX rig… ClubSport DD+ for the Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL Elite V2 Pedals for CSL Pedals with Load Cell Kit, & Formula V2.5X wheel with Podium Advanced Paddle Module & QR2 Pro for McLaren GT3 V2 & QR1 Lite. MAJOR UPGRADES!

At least you're getting your gear together properly, when you get the dedicated PC, you going to want it to have it's own router, of course at that point, you'll be discussing Triples vs VR. It looks as though you have a supportive family. Good Luck!!
That F1 wheel and paddle shifters are the best. The gold QR2 is so smooth going on and coming off. I’ve tried all three QR2 and the gold one is definitely the best. I have a CS DD and v3 pedals and the entire setup is a dream to use. Since your gear is four months old now you already know that.

Yeah, I've ordered a few thing's from them since they switched to the texas warehouse. Previously i wad waiting minimum 2 weeks for parts and accessories. Last 2 times i ordered, used same old regular shipping, and they both got here in less than 2 days after the order.

@DarkKentX yeah but alot of people are reading into it wrong. They also just released yesterday a new cockpit. Also jack isn't leaving he had to step down for image reasons due to customers freaking about about the delays. It's called saving face. Yet they also announced his position will be sales/product development. He's to good at marketing to get off the team. So the whole team is still together lol.

Hell Yeah, Bro!!! I bet you are ecstatic that you waited for your Fanatec Delivery. I am actually happy that you chose to have faith and wait. Cause a lot of people chose not to wait. A lot of people do not understand that the world does not revolve around them and that there are other people. Fanatec Employees roughly 350 vs the WORLD of Motorsports/Sim Racers. Anyway, I love the Trak Racer Alpine TRX. I have the TR8 PRO with the 20Nm Fanatec Podium F1 PC/PlayStation and Fanatec V3 pedals. I raced on iRacing, ACC for PC/PS5, GT7, F1 22/23. I haven't been on in a few months due to health issues with lower leg swelling. Enjoy bro!
I’m so glad that I waited! I wouldn’t classify myself as a “Fan boy,” but I have thoroughly enjoyed my Fanatec experience. & I agree, many of us view ourselves as the main character in a world full of NPCs 😅 I do believe I knocked it out the park with the TRX. I love it. Sorry to hear about your health issues. Hope you get well soon & back in the driver’s seat!

@@DarkKentX 👍Yeah it's crazy how addictive our little hobby is. I started out in a foldable Playseat Challenge and Logitech G923 in 2021. Now my rig has morphed into half of a bedroom😂The ActivePedals are totally *not* a necessity. But they say the pedals are arguably the most important part of your setup, in terms of your driving consistency. So I took the plunge! (And I have no regrets.) And, I've re-sold enough equipment on eBay in the last 3 years, that now I'm in the process of building my "end game" setup. Buy once, cry once!😭

I ordered the same setup and it should be arriving today. I moved up 3 times in a year and a half from the T300 ( over heated ) then the Tgt 2 which was way better. Both with the tlcm pedal set. That made me not want to short myself when I went to DD. Hope you do a follow up. Also nice rig.

Yup I did set them up through the pc Fanatec app. There’s still no way I can run any higher than 20 to 25 percent. I can handle a harder lc pedal after using thrustmaster tlcm with stiffer upgraded springs.

I got the pedals fairly quickly as well. I ordered them separately. It was the preordered DD+ & Formula v2.5X that were the reason for my wait. I didn’t realize how I’d worded it at the time. I waited to install them at the same time as everything else.

Thank you! I’m loving it. I wasn’t sure how much of a difference I’d actually feel moving up from 8nm, but I can tell you now (as a casual driver myself), it’s substantial. & the QR2 is incredible.

So I’ve heard. My only problem is that I’m primarily XBOX (at the moment). I like the PSVR2, but the Oculus would work with PC (which I plan to transition to eventually). Still weighing the options…

Ps5 gamer here. Great rig you have!! Enjoy your DD+. I have it also, coming from the DD Pro 8nm.. I use the DD+ on a reinforced Playseat Challenge and it works good 😊 in game I have it around 50% as that is enough power for me. You?

We got the same setup except I got the DD, Black Alpine TRX, but I did not get the podium shifters. Also had about the same wait time for my Black Friday order.😂😂

How are you enjoying the CSL elite v2? When I use mine, I only get to use about 15 to 25% of the brake force. On your brake pedal what percentage are you comfortable with because I believe that I should be getting a lot more out of it.
I like em. They’re much better than my previous pedals. Did you make the adjustment thru the Fanatec app (on PC)? I don’t like a super stiff pedal, so I believe I set mine to 40%. I can achieve 100% brake force easily in-game at that setting. I hope this helps.
Running a similar setup for f123 on Xbox myself works great once you get settings down

Thank you! Having started with the Logitech G923, I would not recommend starting with any non-direct drive wheel base. The McLaren GT3 wheel I spoke of in this video is arguably one of the best budget-friendly wheels available (in the Fanatec ecosystem). Pedals are extremely important, & I’d suggest something with a load cell brake, bare minimum. A rig, while not mandatory, does increase the fun, stability, & immersion IMO. & there are far cheaper, but just as sturdy ones than the one I started with & have here. Lastly, playing on PC seems to be “the wave,” I’m even aspiring to it, but haven’t yet bc playing on console was cheaper (unless you already have a strong PC). These are just my opinions, I’m no Guru, but I hope it helped.
Just subbed bruh. I was about to order the DD Extreme for PS5, but all the Fanatec news got me a little Shakey. I ended up going Simagic Alpha 15nm, P1000 pedals and GTS wheel with the Cortex converter box. I got a rig I built, but this Alpine rig looks tough.
I appreciate the sub! I understand the concern with Fanatec, but hopefully it all smooths out. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Simagic. It’s the way I may have gone if I’d began on PC 1st.
I love this Alpine TRX! I didn’t wanna go meta like everyone else with the boxy looking rigs, & the adjustability sold me. I’m the 21st F1 driver on the grid in my mind lol, & this rig allowed me to drive seated like the real F1 drivers… Where do I sign? 😂

Nice, i've been running the CSLDD since last November. I still love the crap out of it, thinking of just upgrading to Qr2 for the easier releases. I mainly run iracing and AMS2 on PC, and i seap between two wheels depending on the car, lol.
Gets super annoying. i have to tug hard to release it, and i just upgraded the collar because it was giving out 😅
Let us know how that wheel base is after setting up the FFB, noticed more detail ?
The QR2 release is so much better! No play in either of my wheels now, & it’s actually a “quick” release in comparison to the QR1 Lite I had.
Even without completely dialed in settings, the 15nm of the DD+ is far superior to the CSL DD (8nm) in every way. The detail is great. I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I heard popular TH-camrs talking about “greater detail,” but I know now. You feel every minor slip of the tires even quicker than before, & can respond faster. Long story less long, it’s amazing. Worth the upgrade.

Was really excited for that v2.5x at $200 black friday price but unfortunately it feels just too narrow for me. A bit crazy you still on console with all that super expensive gear lol PC VR is the way to go for sim racing.
I’m really enjoying the v2.5X (for F1). I Frankensteined another wheel that I use for everything else. Everyone I game with is on console, but I’m starting to venture out onto PC slowly.

Buy cheap , know next time it will be a consequence why is it this way.
Bit like learning an instrument. You're not going to buy top of the range if you not sure how far you will take it.
The "buy once, cry once" sentiment doesn't really work for a hobby that people don't even know if they'll be doing in a year or two, so it doesn't make sense to, for instance, spend $1.5k+ on a dd2 podium wheel base. Although resale value is damn near 100%, so no harm no foul if one did but didn't stick with it. I've even seen fanatec gear on eBay sell for more than new prices because they know they'll receive the order within a week.

Your opinion is fair… But aside from the preorder delay/logistics with this order this time, Fanatec has been awesome to me. & as a console-only player (currently), I had limited options initially.

If you have a micro center near you go check them out they have all kinds of sim racing equipment there and you don’t gotta wait for it to be shipped to you bro I’m out in so cal so we only got one and it’s like a hour n half drive for me but worth the trip … make sure you take money cause you’ll always walk out with something for your rig or a pc build lol

Ummm… thanks for your opinions, but I spent My money how I wanted to as a console player. Fanatec has been great to Me (this shipping time being the only exception). The QR2 admittedly was unnecessary, but what I wanted. I mentioned that I liked the aesthetic with the upgraded paddle shifters. With that said, shouldn’t I have done what I wanted to do?
