You mention Arctic breed dogs, but what about herding breeds with long coats. I have an Australian Shepherd - Border Collie mix and I think I read that you aren't supposed to shave them or trim their coats too much because they actually have an insulation layer that keeps them cool in the heat. Is this true?

I put my Yorkie in a tub and sat my water on rooms temperature and it work in 10 minutes.. I took him a bath and gave him some of my body armor and he came back to life.. he was riding on back of my trailer I look back he was lying down with his tongue hanging out his mouth.. I pull over check on him he shit it and throw up.. I didn't know what to do..

Glad to hear your pup is doing better. Thankfully you didn't put him in cold water as cooler temperatures actually restrict blood flow to areas of the body where dogs rely on releasing heat and you can actually make the condition worse. If possible, please have your Yorkie ride in the car with you to ensure he is cool and safe. All the best to you guys.
