    ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In the time it's taken for the short term benefits of antibiotics, your dogs immune system has taken a massive hit to its good bacteria population. The numbers drop dramatically and your dog is now left ever more susceptible to other diseases while at the same time host to chronic skin, bowel and urinary tract infections from yeast overgrowth.
Because the good bacteria in your dogs gut that help produce vitamins and create nutrients vital to cellular health has been destroyed, your dogs gut is now depleted of vitamins such as B1, B2, B6, C, E and K.
This can lead to health problems such as:
    • Reduced immunity
    • Diabetes
    • Obesity
    • Diarrhea
    • Allergies
    • Asthma
    • Anemia
    • Nerve damage
    • Oxidative stress
    • Behavioral concerns
    • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
    • Reduced wound healing
    • Urinary tract infections
    • Ear infections
    • Outbreaks of skin problems such as demodectic mange
What Can You Do To Stop The Side Effects of Antibiotics in Dogs?
In today’s world of processed pet foods fortified with sub optimal synthetic vitamins and minerals, it’s essential to keep vitamin and mineral supplies unbroken because they’re not likely to be replaced by cheap kibbles.
If your dogs had antibiotics recently, it's best to follow with a course of probiotics to help restore the colony of beneficial bacteria and get your dogs body back into balance.
The looming problem with this recovery method is that recent research is finding that once dog antibiotics have done their work, killing off your dogs flora levels and leaving them susceptible to infection, in many instances, the flora levels simply cannot return to normal levels again.
    Dog Antibiotics Side Effects:
The more rounds of antibiotics your dogs had, the less likely they are to recover their gut health and so become exposed to greater health risks going forward.
This is where the natural alternative makes the difference. Oregano oil and Colloidal silver are two such natural antibiotics that have been shown repeatedly to be effective. They both have various therapeutic effects, reducing allergenic responses and stimulate the immune response to stop infection.
I'll leave links above to videos discussing both these wonder remedies and their power as antibiotics.
While dogs antibiotics cannot always be avoided and can save lives, given recent research, try your best to avoid them or as a last choice option.
Better still, if you can feed your dog a more natural diet such as my Healthier Kibble Diet, a home cooked food diet or raw food diet, dog antibiotics side effects are greatly reduced and vet visits for antibiotics are rarely needed.
For more on how you can feed your dog an improved kibble diet to reduce day to day chronic dog health problems and the need for antibiotics, click the link in the description above.

My puppy got fixed few weeks back. When they gave pain medication they also gave antibiotic and said she had rash probably from groomer. I didn’t see any rash but did t want to take a chance. So gave her the whole course (10 days) I wish I saw this video before. Recently she is always asking for food. She has never been like this before. So I am connecting to the antibiotics. Currently, I am giving her green vibrance( 1/3 scoop). She is 50 lbs. Should I add probiotics as well? Please advise.

Hello Dan, I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you for sharing, as always, much appreciated. Dan, my Yorkie, eho is 15, has a bit of puss like accumulating around the tear duct area of his eyes. It's been 3 days now. I started just by scooping it out gently with a cotton ball dipped in saline solution. Yesterday, I put 2 drops of Colloidal Silver in each eye. I am going to try this for 5-7 days to see if it clears up. Ugh, my other dog, 13 year old Havanese, woke up with a lil puss in the same area today. Going to do the same for him. What's your educated opinion on what I am doing, and would you do something different if it were your fur babies? Thank you sooo much for caring💞

Hello! your channel's videos have been a big health- recently, we took my two puppies to the vet to get vaccinated, but they have instead been prescribed with a probiotic (ener-g) and black armor because one of my puppies (nicnic) have just recently recovered from severe diarrhea, now for some reason, both puppies were prescribed to take the medicine even though only one of them got diarrhea, ever since I have been giving them their dosage, the other puppy (mucho) had started vomiting and refusing food- I would check his gums and ears and they seem just fine, but his condition has been getting so bad where he isnt as energetic as before, what should I do? this morning he ate alot but vomited 3 times today and refuses to eat, and we had to manually (gently) shoot water into his mouth with a clean dropper to keep him hydrated, thank you in advance for the advice

    • @DanScott1

I'm having trouble understanding what you have said. Below I replied, thinking I knew.. but now I'm not sure. For sick pup, rest half a day and start with some bone broth to recover health first before attempting to feed again: Bone Broth: amzn.to/3GNkLY2
Then its a healthier diet: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
Diet is key for pups, not vaccinations.
      -----------------------------------------
For starters, dont use the meds from the vet. Secondly, it's the vaccination causing the sickness. And third, the probiotics/black amor should be ok but start them real small the first week to get used to them.
My advice is diet. Feed a diet with fresh food in it. If feeding kibble use this one: Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
and add some egg, canned sardines and part cooked and blended veggies to it.

Hi Dan, Thank you so much for sharing your knowlegde in the video's. My senior dog had a serious surgery about 4 weeks ago and had antibiotics for 3 weeks. I will start for sure with probiotics asap! She has always been on a raw diet and supplements like CBD, muscle support (herbs).
She had surgery on a very large cholesteatoma in her middle ear and it has been removed. My dog is recovering very well, no diarrhia, good wound healing, etc. I would like to ask if you have any advise to prevent her from re-growing this cholesteatoma. I cannot find anything, eather regular or natural ways, to prevent this condition. Many thanks in advance!

@@DanScott1 Thank you so much for your answer. I really appreciate your reply. My dog didn't have chronic ear infections, she hasn't been vaccinated for about 5-6 years. In addition, she didn't have dewormers for about 3-4 (?) years. I do faeces research sometimes. She only had medication during the diagnostic procedures, rontgen, CT scan and surgery. Like anesteshia, antibiotics, NSAID's. She is a (foreign) rescue dog and might have had a bad start, perhaps food deficiencies? I got her when she was approximately 3 years old and she will be 9 in July. About 1,5 years ago, they found raised liver enzymes probarbly due to hepatic hyperplasy. The ultrasound and biopsy didn't give an answer at the time. Because I made some dietary changes, the liver enzymes dropped (raw food chicken low in fat, milkthistle and tumeric). Perhaps, these two could be related (liver and cholesteatoma)? But I cannot find any answers in regular medicine and just a little in alternative medicine. It is a quest in order to see how I really could support her to live a long and healthy life. And avoid re-growing of this condition. Many thanks again. If you have any suggestions, I am looking forward to your reply.

The meds are toxic or poison depending on if it's natural or synthetic. For early sign of any cough, cold, flu, infection, use Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T
It's neat so mix 1 part oregano oil to 4 parts carrier oil such as olive oil. Or add 1 drop to a tsp of olive oil and add to food once daily or wrap in treat and down the hatch.
It's a great natural antibiotic for us all.
I'd fast the dog 24hrs water only and some plain coconut water for electrolytes to clear the kidneys/liver out. Then usual meal and the oregano oil treatment once daily. Run a 7 day protocol then stop.

Stopped antibiotic immediately, 5 days later and he is still not himself 😥 Is there anything I can do to detox that out?*

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Please use silver in the future. This is the correct one:
      Silver spray: amzn.to/3gJ16i3
Please use dandelion tincture to flush the kidneys, a great remedy for this: amzn.to/3d2MqHY
The kidneys will have had to deal with the antibiotic.
It’s crucial to protect and support healthy kidneys to avoid kidney disease.
Feed a fresh, whole food diet. A balanced raw diet will give your dog the protein, vitamins and nutrients he needs to function well. Adding the following to your dog’s regular diet will also help support his system and protect kidney function:
      Eggs
Small fish like mackerel, anchovies and sardines
      Sprouts
Small seeds - flax or sesame are great
      Herbs - dandelion and parsley
Add some fresh chopped herbs to your dog’s food - a pinch per 10 lbs up to 1 Tbsp for a dog 100 lbs or larger. If you buy dried herbs, capsules or a tincture, assume the dose on the label is for a 150 lb human and adjust the dose for your dog’s weight.
Avoid or minimize vaccines - since they’re a major cause of inflammation and the toxic adjuvants and additives can compromise your dog’s system. Since the kidneys flush toxins from the body, vaccines force the kidneys to work overtime anytime there’s a new toxin unreduced. Your dog’s kidneys don’t like those toxins and will work hard to flush them out.
Avoid drugs and toxins - Antibiotics are really hard on the kidneys and drugs that suppress symptoms are not actually doing anything to heal the real issue.

Hi Dan I need some advice from you my dog was recently prescribed steroid s and antibiotics the vet said he had a hot spot due to flea bites . They prescribe 5mg of prednisone and cephalexin 250 mg . I am worried and would like to stop giving him this medication but I am of afraid of the side effects which I know include withdrawals. He is a 7 month old puppy what do you advice me to do ? Also he just started both medication on may 7 2022

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, I'd stop those medications today! I'm making a video on Prednisone (One of those slight of hand drugs that simply switches off the immune system response).
For infection, you can use silver but just for a 7, 10 or 14 day protocol then stop: amzn.to/2UXexmC
At the same time, give probiotics: amzn.to/3yoURqU
For the hot spot (this probiotic is good), use the silver on it. Also give live enzymes, important: amzn.to/37MrINq
Stop 24hrs before giving new remedies. Start small on the supplements and build up over several days. Even if waiting on an order stop the vet meds now.
      Whats the diet?

    • @MsJoselyn15
      @MsJoselyn15 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ok thanks for taking the time to reply and he eats a kibble diet Purina puppy chow. In regards to the prednisone I’m juts afraid he will have withdrawals from stopping it. I wish I would have know what he had and not spend all the money at the vet . Also is it ok if apply coconut oil on his hot spot ? Thanks for everything

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@MsJoselyn15 Yes he will have some withdrawal, but th longer you leave it, the worse it gets. Use the probiotics and live enzymes if feeding kibble only. Plus add some eggs, canned sardines (in water) and part cooked and blended veg in all meals to boost nutrition and help come of pred. Add the supplements I told you above too - important.
AND to replace the Pred, use Colostrum, it's for this and works well: amzn.to/3H79rad
If you do all of the above, your pup will be much better off. The vet drugs are NOT the way, they will destroy your dog. Have faith and do the above.

Our dog was on abx for a total of 31 days within 2 months. So other than probiotics, what else do we do during the recovery phase? We are feeding him a high protein diet? Should we prioritize a different macronutrient during this recovery phase?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  หลายเดือนก่อน

High protein diet is good. Dogs don't really need carbs so keep low. Lots of fresh foods in the diet is essential such as eggs, canned sardines: amzn.to/3vaXrj6, meats, part cooked and blended veggies, even green tripe: shrsl.com/3yxwk
A soil based probiotic is good for digestion: amzn.to/3yoURqU and freeze dried greens are a great idea too for vitamins, minerals and support greens: amzn.to/49w0bKR
Start any new foods/supplements small and slow the first week or two to help the gut build health.
Several protein options are a good idea.

Our dog DOB is 7/4/2010 is heavy breathing after meals, makes a whistling sound ONLY when drinking or eating (head down in his bowl) more sluggish and the other night got up from our room in the middle of the night to be courteous to go to the linoleum to vomit and urinate. He also for approximately 4 months now does this wrenching hack (no vomit) out of nowhere. He does that about 1-3 times per day almost every day. Sometimes skipping a day. He is a English bulldog 74 pounds. They did bloodwork, X-ray and said he had some small spots in his lung area (could be cancer) but considering his blood work they did not think so. They said from X-ray his heart looked good (we thought CHF and age accelerating). They told us he has a cold and a slight UTI. Gave us 100mg doxycycline and a “cough tab”. Brought him home around 5:30pm yesterday. He is also exactly where we are. He seems afraid, will not eat, is frothing(bubbles around his mouth like he’s nauseous) when by of us move about he is moving his head as though he hears the sounds of us but can’t see? So he seems frightened of what the sounds of US is. He is drinking but very little. He is going to the bathroom but almost falling down the deck stairs. I don’t think this dx or treatment plan is correct. Because of COVID he went in alone. This is is normal vet but it was not is normal Doctor. Someone we or he have never seen. He is breathing heavy and rapidly and moaning slightly while laying in one spot since we got home last night. This is what brought me here. Any help would be appreciated I have the labs I can show. Apppreciate the details, thank you.
He's congested, the system is blocked and he's at a threshold event. Meaning: his lifestyle has caught up with him... below average diet, vaccines and meds taking their toll.
Right away, he needs diet modification and some home remedies. I'm guessing kibble is the food source. He needs fresh food in the diet going forward to boost health and begin clearing the system. For this, there's my free guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide or better still my Ebook: Feed Your Dog Better (healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/).
For the digestive system, use Milk Thistle: amzn.to/3vA6gSx
This is to clear some of the congestion.
I advise stopping the vet meds they sold you as they will only make things worse. Give CBD instead: healthydogforlife.com/CBD
The diet is the key part. Start with the free guide or jump into the ebook and follow the Healthier Kibble Diet.
The diet will clear the health issues... slowly and the CBD will clear the fear/help with joints/any pain and the Milk Thistle will clear the digestive system.
Please stop any meds/vaccines/drugs as they do way more damage at this age than help.

Hi Liana, I won't lie, Lymes a tough one with no clear information and way too many drugs affecting other body processes.
I'd first set up my dogs life with a 100% raw food diet, specific supplements and immune boosters such as CBD oil and Beta glucan. Lots of exercise, zero vaccines, antibiotics and additives.
That's about it, ultra healthy lifestyle and fresh food diet. Hopefully that takes the edge off to live with dignity and health.
The Dox i'd change for CBD and a oregano oil mix, plus theres silver for internal bacteria. Dox makes dogs sick as you've stated.
I'm not keen on the other drugs either but don't know any case history to judge (for me it's home remedies only).
I have videos on everything mentioned.

Hello Dan, great video, my dog had bladder stone surgery to remove 3 stones 4 days ago. He was not given antibiotics only pain medecine, but now he is peeing and seconds after he strains and wants to go again but nothing comes out, should I be worried that is a Dog UTI? Or any infection, please help.

UTI or another stone left behind. If it's infection, you should know.. but.. to be sure, get some oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T and mix it 5:1 with olive oil, so that's 1 part oregano oil to 5 parts olive oil, mix well and add to food or deliver directly down the mouth so the dog has to swallow or wrapped in treat, and do this for 7 days once daily.
For the stones give some ACV in the water bowl and food daily, this helps to neutralize the acids. Med dog, 1 Tbsp in the water bowl or meals.
And start feeding a majority fresh food diet so the kibble is cut in half and the rest is eggs, canned sardines in water and part cooked and blended veg.. plus some meat proteins.
And start this freeze dried greens, 1/4 scoop 20lb dog 1/3rd scoop 40lb dog: Green Vibrance: amzn.to/3cOgzLu
Will help a lot with tons of anti oxidants, probiotics, beta glucans and much more. Your dog needs them.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Big question! Stop antibiotics first. Hard to tell without proper history here.
      Diet?
      Here's some general diet help:
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer)
No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
ONLY use the soil based probiotic option and start small, build up over a week to normal dose.

I have an intact 7 year old male dog currently on 2 antibiotics for a UTI, which the vet says is being caused by enlarged prostate & that he should be neutered. The 2 bacterium in his urine were strep & staph. He is on enrofloxacin & SMZ/TMP for 30 days. I want to focus on clearing the infection & getting good bacteria back in Jim & boosting his immune system. Are the probiotics you linked here the best/strongest to use after antibiotics? And would the beta glucans be another good supplement? He gets raw or freeze dried food once a day, and a high quality kibble mixed with canned the other feeding. Since he is halfway through these antibiotics I want to finish them but then need to boost his immune system and fix his gut. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  ปีที่แล้ว

For starters, keep the dog intact, it's an important sex hormone and he needs it. Enlargement come from poor diet/drugs/environment, so ignor the vet.
For UTI's going forward use oregano oil at 5:1 with olive oil ie 1 part oregano to 5 parts olive anadd to food or give direct in treat or in capsule you make and wrap in treat or direct to back of throat: Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T
Diet is the KEY here. I recommend you swap the good kibble with this kibble if you can afford it: Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
It's 5% carbs, 47% protein and 15% fat which is perfect ratios and natural additives. Your kibble will be 35-50% carbs and it's carbs that cause disease in dogs over time and rust their bodies up.. hence the need for beta glucans and tons of antioxidants (can't stress this enough).
Sacred 7 Mushroom Extract Powder - USDA Organic - Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Maitake, Shiitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga - amzn.to/3CLiI6y This will supply the beta glucans and a whole host of immune system support, very anti cancer too.
Use this soil based probiotic, it's the strongest, plus added extras good for the gut and he'll need it after all that vet antibiotics killing off gut flora: amzn.to/3yoURqU
If you feel he's fixed before the 30 days, stop the antibiotics too.
Also with that food, add some meat protein a few times a week ie chicken and or some raw green tripe which can be fed as is - it's a complete food.
Plus some canned sardines in water and a good freeze dried greens like this one: Green Immune + Super food - (GLM, phytoplankton, Microalgae and Spinach): healthydogforlife.com/GreenImmuneSuperfood
Oh and lots of eggs, raw. Organic is best.
Could even replace the kibble part with fresh food/canned. Keep carbs under 10%. No vaxx, no drugs.

I cannot thank you enough for all of this information! You are confirming most of what I have read & what I believe! I’m very grateful for this information and I’m going to get him started on all of these things now! I was kind of thinking I would do 14 days of the antibiotics because he seems like there’s nothing wrong with him now. Question: can I give him these probiotics while he’s on the antibiotics or should I wait until he’s done taking the antibiotics? And is Carna4 another kibble option for him? Thank you!!

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  ปีที่แล้ว

@@kimbastyr4174 Yes, usually I recommend no more than 14 days on antibiotics. Yes, start the probiotics, half dose to start, build up over several days. Always start new supplements/food small and slow to begin with just to ease in. Carna4 is good, it's just that it's around 35% carbs.. thay all are, while Ketona is just 5%.
You'll want to reduce the kibble portion of the meal whatever you use and replace with fresh food as discussed in previous reply.
      Your welcome.

Excellent natural antibiotics are: silver amzn.to/39i5mQW (Best deal ATM) used by doctors in the 30's before big pharma had their way. Fast acting, works well, short term use on the problem topically and internally - add to food, no taste/smell.
Oregano oil - natural antibiotic - amzn.to/2CZz1R4 It's pur and should be mixed at 4 parts olive oil to one part oregano oil and can be used topically and internally. Great long term solution.
Garlic - great antibiotic. Fine chop, allow to sit for 15 mins then serve in food. 1/2 tsp per 20lb dog weight.
      All the best

In need of advice PLEASE! I spent over $1000 on a foster puppy.. I originally got him and he wasn’t eating & I could tell he wasn’t feeling the best.. though he started to feel better as the days went on but I just wanted to get a wellness check to see if he was okay. Before I decided to go he had also consumed a bulky stick so I was worried that it could have been lodged somewhere. So that was another reason for going.. the evening before going to the vet the next day, he was sadly hit by a car. I called the emergency vet & they said he would be fine to get checked the following day. So I waited until the next morning to get home checked out. I took him into a walk-in, he got X-rays, blood work & an urine analysis. I think that was all. I came back and they said his blood levels were a little low but other than that he was fine. So I was relieved and took him home. Through out the day he developed a cough that got worse and worse, so I was really concerned because I wasn’t sure if was from the car or not. So I bring him back the next morning & they take some blood to see if his levels to compare them to the day before & they said they looked better. So they wanted to give him antibiotics to cure whatever was going on with him, they weren’t sure. So one they gave him fluids, a pain injection shot (which was a horrible idea), & antibiotics. They gave him doxycycline & clavamox… within the first day he started to feel better! I noticed he was very gassy but he was eating really good and his stool looked “great.” Just today, after 4 days he started to get loose stools that looks like he had like undigested food in it, and I was like is that like worms or something ? Idk! So I continued to monitor. And he continues to have accidents in the house & I just woke up at 2:00 am to clean it up and there was blood in his stool! Should I stop his antibiotics ??! Do I continue? Also, forgot to mention he has been very itchy too. I’m just so concerned… I’m wondering if it could be mold in the house or something? Or what if it’s parvo? Any advice on what to do? Sorry, I know that was a lot..
Thank you so much for everything you do! I love all of your videos.

Is there any alternative to treat mange other than antibiotics?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

YES! (don't use the vet option, very immune suppressing)
I'm shooting a video next week on this very subject and it works 100% and naturally.
      This is from the video:
If your dog has generalized demodectic mange, or has patches of sarcoptic mange mites or ringworm, use pure neem oil, but don't use it neat, especially if your dog has cracked or open skin, weeping sores etc. Neem oil is very concentrated and needs to be diluted with a carrier oil.
Dilute neem oil at a light starting regimen of 1:10 (1 part neem oil to 10 parts carrier oil) with a light carrier oil (e.g. grape seed oil / almond oil / olive oil / coconut oil). Mix well and then massage the oil mixture into the skin over the affected area. You can apply it daily on problem spots.
For dogs hot spots, infected bug bites or when treating demodectic and sarcoptic mange and ringworm, it's possible to increase the neem oil concentration to a 1:4 ratio (1 part neem oil to 4 parts carrier oil).
Also keep an eye on the skin for potential reactions or irritation and wash off with mild soapy water if any adverse reaction occurs. Generally though, neem oil is found to be an amazing skin and hair conditioner, promoting healthier skin repair and a more lustrous shiny coat.
One application should be effective at killing all sarcoptic mites over your dogs skin and re-application daily over a week will be needed to reach demodectic mites deeper in the skin.
      Neem oil: amzn.to/3iV0Igq
Also great for keeping ticks/fleas/mites away.
Re retreating demodectic daily over a week, if you use 1:4 should work the first time if left on for a few hours.
Wash off with this Oatmeal Pet Wash as it's gentle: amzn.to/3CYUBjw

It went well, now the big problem I am having is my dog keep chewing the healed scabs, causing himself even more harm. The vet has prescribed zeniquin but I am a bit hesitant to start another round of antibiotics. Is it safe? Is there another way to get my dog to stop chewing his own tail? I’ve tried many different cones he keeps removing them. People have told me to muzzle him but I can’t keep him muzzled all day. It’s so inhumane. Atropine is being given for the ulcer to stop acid production and the other is an antibiotic for the infection.
Is the dog in pain, any reactions?
For me, I'd focus on a natural antibiotic for the infection which is oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T 1 drop in a tsp olive oil in meal once daily for 5-7 days.
If there's eye cleaning just use a pinch of rock salt in a half cup of warm water and use a cotton ball to gently clean the eyes.
Diet woule be fresh food based for maximum immune system help, therefore eye support.
I'd also give tons of antioxidants: amzn.to/49w0bKR and use these greens to do that.
And for herbals I'd use Euphrasia Officinalis 30C: amzn.to/46Yb0EI - the Eyebright homeopathic remedy. Its safe and heals the eye. Give 1-2 pellets twice or three times a day.

I prefer hydrosol silver for a 7 or 14 day protocol over vet antibiotics. Yes I would give a good soil based probiotic before, during and after this protocol. The best silver I know of: amzn.to/2UXexmC
My personal fav antibiotic is oregano oil but may be difficult for the dog to take in this situation as it's a little acrid tasting: amzn.to/3ulnF1T Mix at 1 part oregano oil to 5 parts carrier oil ie olive oil, mix well and add to food or force down the throat once daily, or wrap into a treat.
I'd also use Milk thistle extract: amzn.to/3mjJlJM (2 drops per 10lb 1-4 times daily) Great for liver renewal over time. Four months on, one month off.
Apart from this, it's sticking to a strickly fresh food diet with no carbs or sugars or additives in the food. Here are some natural remedies that may help ease respiratory infections in dogs. Again, if you suspect pneumonia, don’t try to manage it at home without professional support.
Steam therapy: A steamy shower running can help clear the airways and ease congestion. They don’t need to be in the shower, just allow them to breathe the steam.
Manuka honey has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe a sore throat and cough. Mix a small amount of honey into your dog’s food or offer it on a spoon.
Echinacea: This herb can help boost the immune system and reduce inflammation. It can be given in the form of a tincture or supplement.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C can help support the immune system and reduce inflammation. You can feed foods rich in vitamin C such as strawberries and bell peppers, or give a vitamin C supplement, preferably naturally-sourced, not lab-made like ascorbic acid.
Fluids: It’s important to keep your dog hydrated, especially if he has a fever or isn’t eating as much as usual. You can also feed a low-sodium broth or homemade bone broth.

@@Justin-ib9bv Give him a couple tsp in his water bowl, change daily and add 1tsp to each meal for 7 days then stop.
Looking at diet, I recommend boosting diet with fresh food options to stop the ear infections going forward.
Here's some diet help: Use soil based probiotics, helps with yeast and very low carb use.

Has it been diagnosed to a specific tick born disease, there's around 7-8? Could be Lyme disease: includes fever, stiffness, lameness, joint pain and swelling, loss of appetite, and fatigue.
It’s best to consult an experienced homeopathic vet who can prescribe the correct remedy to treat a tick disease.
You can find a holistic vet at these sites. Many will do phone consults if you can’t find one locally.
The Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy (AVH): theavh.org/ lists homeopathic vets but many practice other holistic modalities too.
Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy (PIVH): pivh.org/sfd/ vets who’ve complete homeopathy training with Dr Richard Pitcairn. Like the AVH list, includes vets who practice other holistic methods.
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA):www.ahvma.org/ includes all types of holistic veterinarians.
I'd also transition the dog to a raw food or at least majority fresh food diet to aid the immune system.
Generally this takes a long time with various herbs and healthy diet to get better but can be done.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I'm just shooting a video on this later this week.
This needs two things to happen. 1, some healthier diet options incorporated and some Slippery Elm: amzn.to/2hVjYJ6
This to soothe the entire digestive tract and much needed.
Use the powder form, it's more economical and easier to sprinkle on food as dogs seem to like it and it's completely safe. Wonderful for cats too.
Feed 1/8 tsp for small dogs, twice daily
Feed 1/4 tsp for medium dogs, twice daily
Feed 1/2 tsp for large dogs, twice daily
Also get some probiotics and start at half dose and build up over several days: amzn.to/3xqa2i0
This will help improve digestion a lot. Add to every meal.
And start thinking about adding some fresh foods the the kibble meals like eggs, cooked and well crushed veg, canned sardines etc. If not then definitely some enzymes: amzn.to/2ksvlx1
Blood in the stool is serious and telling you that the gut wall is inflamed, delicate and leaking. My suggestions will fix this.

I was given antibiotic for my bichonpoodle that is suspected to have IBD... what made us go was a possible infection or something from dog park back in January... I gave him FORTIFLORA PURINA and it has liver in it. It’s suspected that my dog can’t tolerate proteins...after I gave him this he got extremely very very sick... I need help why this happened to him . His eosinophilic level was very high... could he have a lung worm or Heart worm? I have buenoside to give him but I’m scared too. I don’t even know but he can’t tolerate anything right now other than the HA purina vegetarian but I’m tipping it with the EN purina wet food. This is ok for him but he still licks his paws crazy and they want to start apoquil ... I’m scared please help if you could... God bless you

A dog with IBD which is essentially leaky gut needs fresh food in the diet and to stay away from vet drugs like Prednisone/Apoquell. You must lower the carbs in the diet and raise the fresh foods and helpful spplements over time he'll be less sensitive.
Also give a soil based probiotic: amzn.to/3yoURqU

Note: my friend brought a stray female cat in 12/25/2021 and she had giardia and we gave her all the meds the vet gave us to rid that but a probiotic Fortiflora purina and she and other at have smelly sulfur farts and very smelly runny poop. Why does the dog has bloody mucus in stool and lose appetite and sometimes vomit .

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

The gut lining is inflammed from unsuitable diet, probably too much carbs, synthetics and additives causing inflammation. Mucus is from this situation also. The vomit is food rejection, just does not feel right in there, so out it comes. And all this yucky feeling causes a dog to lose his appetite for more of the same, makes sence really.
The first thing is to settle the gut inflammation with some Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 feed when the dogs empty, just add a couple tsp's to some plain yoghurt or whatever else the dog will eat and this will soothe the entire digestive tract.
If the dogs not eating yet, start with bone broth to keep nutrients going in: amzn.to/38AZ3uX
What to do about the diet?
