  • As this movement modality is touch and sensation based, I came up with the term Tactile Experiencing. However, as this might sound old-fashioned to to the TikTok generation I also titled it Ultra Embodiment.
    In this lesson I teach Tactile Experiencing with the example of rolling the leg. After doing so, your right leg felt might feel quite different to your left one. The right might feel more stable, smoother, lighter, stronger. You might be standing more on top if it and may find to think of it differently than your left leg.

    After a year of following your videos this was such an interesting experience. It really gets to the heart of the kind of learning you are trying to create in people. I’ve done it twice in a week, and I feel so much more ‘contained’ in my body and connected to it. This particular sequence, which is often taught as ‘rotate the leg’ or ‘point the foot inward’ never created much of an experience for me, but focusing on the sensations like you do in this video has created a three dimensional mental picture of my legs and hips like I’ve never had before (still weak, but developing). And it released tension up and down different connect parts of my body. Likely the experience wouldn’t have been the same without a year of grounding in your method, but with that, it was really something special.

    Alfonse! That was nuts! I had a very bad spell of carsickness yesterday and nothing I did helped very much. After the right leg I went in to do the left leg. And as soon as I finished I felt incredibly grounded. I could feel how my whole body gently expanding and contractions with my breath, and even feel or see it with my mind’s eyes. Much appreciation of your curiosity and sharing of knowledge ❤

    It seems that if I do this on my whole body I'll be floating somewhere!

    Very effective, but I felt my leg felt heavy while bending knee and sliding the foot up slowly ., felt a light cramp in the area of the leg ( lower leg and the IT band area

      Have you already worked through my beginner series “Getting Better Day By Day” yet? Maybe this will answer the challenge of your leg

    This was a very good lesson for me. But I end up wondering « how can it work so well ? ». Is it suggestion ? And after I did the right leg one day, I tried the left leg the next day. Did it seem to work less because I had to adapt to the fact that your voice was still saying « Think about your right leg… ». Power of langage ? Power of suggestion ? All in all I prefer to think you are making me do things with my body that I never thought about before. I never experienced my body this way and it seems to indeed have some effects.

    I go straight to it : do you consider you are using some kind of hypnosis ?

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🤣🙈 Contrariwise, I try my best to up the dial on being aware and conscious.. however, I chose feeling comfortable, safe and at ease as conditions for learning, maybe that’s what you are referring to? 😁

      I am getting confused with what is today referred to as « hypnosis ». It seems as if just listening to someone’s voice, giving instructions, guiding someone, is hypnosis. Then, somehow, so many ways of teaching could be taken for hypnosis. As far as I am concerned, I never thought about hypnosis while following yr lessons. But some friend of mine confused me about it so I thought I will just ask you. Especially after this peculiar lesson, in which at some point you do say something like (sorry I didn’t relisten) « let my voice guide you ». Anyway, it doesn’t change much for me. Just some intellectual wanderings.

      😄 Good argument. I’m amazed how well you (and I guess many others listen). Maybe your friend picked up on that line which in the original version says “My voice will go with you” by Milton Erickson. I said my sentence half tongue in cheek, but also seriously, how else to phrase it?… “Don’t visually copy my moves but consider what I say and make your own moves… therefore don’t look at me on the screen too much but listen to my voice”… also, I’ve not studied Milton Erickson’s work but also never heard anything bad about it… Interesting question nevertheless, but in the end, as I said, I don’t want to hypnotise anyone but contrariwise, to raise (self-)awareness and (self-)consciousness, to help my students feel and observe in more depth and detail about what is happening when they learn and move
