Although Dale Cooper is a fictional character, I have to say with pride that I have learnt so much from watching him, and I've even found imitating his enthusiasm and optimism immensely rewarding. The first few years of my life started out pretty rough, but having watched Twin Peaks in my childhood with my mum, I went through them with a resilience inspired by the design of his character. I survived it all thanks to this here man. Thank you David Lynch and Twin Peaks.
@@Animeality I have heard The Return called Anti-Nostalgia. Lynch is not very into the idea of paying fan-service as a given. But that being said, there were so many amazing moments to be had in the Return that were themselves of the heart of the original run, but just not from the characters we may have wanted it from.
@@michaelfathoms6152 basically Lynch wanted to tell the audience that it is far too late to go back. The story ended at session two when the mystery was solved. Lynch only wanted to have one mystery and continue on with the show forever.
One of my favorite characters Agent Cooper is absolutely brilliant ,deductive and inquisitive. His eccentricities allowed him to think outside the box as well as not jump to conclusions on the eccentric behavior of a lot of the people in Twin Peaks and let him relate to them. But I think at the end of the day the fact that he actually cared and had compassion about the people and didn’t let his ego get in his way was what allowed him to see where others couldn’t.
0:27 ones of my favorites scenes. It's a perfect demonstration of what I love about Lynch; you have Albert and Cooper talking in front; which is enough; both characters are unique and interesting enough in their own right, but then you always have the singing men in the background which puts another level of entertainment in the scene.
If I ever become a boss at work, I want to be like Cooper: focused, good at his job, but also with that typical weird Twin Peaks positive quirkiness :) Like his coffee scenes and blueberry pie, or the sandwiches from Mr Horne's brother. I love those little details.
Upon finishing season 2, I can't help but feel rather emotional while revisiting the heartfelt moments in previous episodes. This has brought me to reminisce the subtle yet complicated strings of emotions tied among the people of Twin Peaks. I know there are still a film and a season to go by, yet I can't help but sense that the warmth between these same people will not entirely return. Surely I expect to experience more of the magic and niche-ness, but I don't suppose such warmth can be recreated - not without these familiar characters who are dear to our hearts. I wish we had more time with them, if only things had worked out better. But I suppose I should get going, see what is to come in Twin Peaks and appreciate the wisdom I have gained from it. I shall apply them in my own life for as long as I find it appropriate. As a wise man once said, "There's a whole world out there, jump in."
Tell that to the lizardmen from Harry Turtledove's WorldWar novels. Seriously, members of "the Race" react to ginger as humans do to cocaine, in addition to it sending Race females into estrus. So basically, selling a gingerbread man to a member of the Race is like selling a cocaine cookie to a human. Though a cocaine cookie wouldn't taste anywhere near as good as a gingerbread man, since according to collective knowledge, cocaine has a bitter and "chemically" taste to it.
If something aired three decades ago, should you really have to warn about spoilers up front? A spoiler is when something just became public and people share crucial information, unsolicited. Twin Peaks has been available for anyone to catch up with for thirty years now. Coop would see this logic. Thanks for the good compilation.
Wish there was a way for uploaders to alter a video of varied clips so that the volume is the same all throughout-- without big jumps or drops in the audio/dialogue. This has some loud bits and soft ones.
An interesting character with a deep backstory written by Lynch... A blathering idiot whose character is basically an insult to anyone who watches the show without irony but they don't seem to get it... FUCK YOU!
Dale cooper is one of the greatest characters ever to grace fiction.
Amen
Easily
*The greatest
No no no you guys don’t get it. I’m OBSESSED with this man
That llama scene gets me every time.

I read this like Dale Cooper was speaking into his tape recoder

Cheers to that man, hope you're still on the good path.
You shouldn't think of yourself as "privileged." That's looking down on people who were born a certain way. I don't think coop would approve ;)
@@josephsekara3338 Why? Self-awareness is a great trait and it's ludicrous to believe we all start at same level of ease in different areas, in life.
Cooper is pure.
Which one?
This is the Dale Cooper we want back.
subkontrabasklarinet We got him back
For like 5 minutes. Then it turned into all of this Richard and Linda crap.

Snowman0147 Dale and Audrey, two of the audience‘s favourite chracters, were nearly ruined in return season

Dale Cooper is a personification of David Lynch's thought stream. Of course, he'd be one of the best characters to ever grace the screen.
0:49 I love watching Michael Ontkean trying to stop himself from laughing in this bit lmao
Gods, I loved that man... I'm so upset he retired from acting too soon to come back for the returned series! 😿
He is and always will be one of my biggest role models!
I wanna be like dale cooper
start with a good cup of joe a tuna sandwich on wheat and a slice of cherry pie.
I'm not sure anyone other than Kyle MacLachlan could do it to that perfection.
You can do it. Inspire, imitate and acquire the state of mind.
He is a brilliant man and also really goofy. It,s perfect.

For me, that is what TP and life in general are, those little details. That is what drew me to TP.
omg I'm in love
I'm in love with that joe and pie
I’m about to watch this show for the first time; this guy’s one of the main reasons I’m about to see it
Enjoy it - actually, savor it, you will be glad that you did!
The Art of Special Agent Dale Cooper
The crush I have on this man is insurmountable
Best character, ever!
Perfect meeting of character and actor
I love everything about Cooper, he my favourite tv character. I started crying watching the return and seeing him as Dougie, struggling to comprehend
Dale Cooper is my role model. I earnestly mean that.
"as long as you can keep the fear from your mind"

This makes me miss Dale Cooper - but who doesn't love Dougie Jones

I've heard I can't tell you how many words of wisdom in my life and these are some of the best :)

Agent Dale Cooper is like a god, wrapped in skin.
Play at .75 and you get to hear drunk, sentimental Coop.
Time for my daily watch.
It's Mr. Jackpots !
Damn this man is smart.
This guy is the fucking best man. Legitimately my favorite main character ever, god bless David lynch for giving us twin peaks

“Father, the sleeper has awakened!”
-Paul Atr- oh shit wrong character.

Some interesting affinities between them, though.
A ray of sunshine 🌞
Greatest fictional man ever written
Cooper is my favorite TV character ever, one of my favorite fictional characters in any medium, and basically my #1 model for how to be a man.
imagine this guy side by side with Fox Mulder in X files...pure dynamite! The FBI would have to put them on a leash.
Hello-ooo
His slot-jockey mating call in the casino will go down as one of his best lines.
Michael Snow Starting positions.

Kyle McLaughlin.
Damn fine actor.
❤️❤️❤️❤️Brilliant
Anyone know which episode the last clip is from - the one where Agent Cooper is speaking after coming out of meditation? Thanks!
This must be where pies go when they die
This is purely lynch speaking
0:40 lol
Someone should edit that with a "the more you know" added and make it a PSA.

Ahh! It's Donald Love from "Grand Theft Auto III" as Dale Cooper.
He's hot.
2:27 Cooper was just trolling him to get him to barf. That's my guess.
Kyle Tekaucic Well I mean biscuits in gravy would be pretty good during an hangover. Oysters though.. I’m not so sure
Kyle Tekaucic duh
King Cooper
I feel that Blue Velvet is unofficial prequel to Twin Peaks. There is so much thematic similarity.
