    I never saw Harry and Cooper's relationship as homosexual in nature. Honestly I just thought it was two dudes with big hearts that weren't afraid to express their mutual respect for each other. Isn't that how TRUE friendship should be?

    I think the moment where Cooper chooses not to get into bed with Audrey speaks miles about his moral fortitude. She may have been consenting, but she was NOT in a sound place mentally at that time. For Coop to sleep with her tuen and there would have been taking advantage and surely lead to some bitter or awkward discomfort later on. He did the right thing, even if Audrey Horne would be an incredible catch.

    • @michaelsnow1
      @michaelsnow1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      She was definitely in distress at that time and he probably sensed that. She was near tears when he walked in. It would, in retrospect, have been weird if they slept together right then and there.

      I think the best option would have been for Cooper to turn her down, so that they don't actually enter into a romance, _but_ instead of introducing Annie they should have had Audrey become Miss Twin Peaks in the final two episodes.

      Absolutely not that's bloody ridiculous they were simply natural best friends,would have gone on being best friends for life if not for being stuck in that damn black lodge tragic really,but absolutely not I dont know why anyone would have the idea of some underlying gay "tension/attraction" bs towards Cooper and Harry,and I'm glad Lynch didnt go that direction and I dont think it even crossed his mind either,as weird and"liberal"as he is not everyone has to go down those roadst hese days lol,nope Cooper and harrys budding friendship was just a classic good old fashionied Friendship of the highest variety mutual respect and admiration Brothers to put it simply.I so wish he didnt get trapped in the lodge for half of his life him and harry would have been and remained best friends to the end.Oh and Cooper is probably on a side note one of the like 5 straigtest" ladies men" on television the past 35 ish years or so.definately not even rmeotely close to an example of a "sexually confused' or"bi sexual" or"in the closet" guy,not even 1 single percent frankly.

    • @dannyhicks8653

      All that aside it sure is sad though,they really were such great friends,Truman spent what 3 days there not eating or sleeping waiting and hoping his friend would return from god knows where he went to which was already a bit much for harry or nayone to handle seeing someone literally go into a parallel world/dimension,only for him upon returnning to not even be himself at all and instead bebodujacked/posessed/by the same entity /murderer they had been hunting the past 2 seasons,I can only imagine Harrys confusion at wondering what happened to his friend it must have been very sad and unfortunate and frustrating for him to lose his best friend,Obviously they werent in contact after that because well he wasnt Cooper anymore it was Bob but there was no way for Truman to really know that or that it was even possible so he probably wondered all those years what happened to his best friend to make him have such a massive character change and lose his empathy and mind and personality and etc and why he seized contact with him after there budding friendship,I feel bad for harry and hes the character i missed the most in season 3,damn old age,as fantastic as it was overall season 3 it wasnt quite the same without Truman and Cooper the real Cooper together, they made so much of the oroginal show definately one of my favorite duos like ever on television.Arguably up there or better then even-to use a random ass reference/analogy-Christian Troy and Sean macnamara from Nip Tuck lol.

    I have mixed feelings about Cooper with Annie as a romantic interest . I think that if they developed her character more- and made her 3 dimensional she and Cooper would feel more realistic. I think that Annie was put in because the plot line called for him to have a romantic interest bc of Windom Earl? Annie had potential to become a good character but she just seemed unoriginal and underdeveloped. Aka a Mary-Sue character. I could see Cooper with a dynamic interest who’s a professional like him or a Scully-type character? Ugh, second season was a roller coaster.

    • @Wwcnwo3n498cn
      @Wwcnwo3n498cn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got the impression Annie was intentionally portrayed as 1 dimensional because that's the way Dale perceived her, and in some cases that's the way he was- ie not in touch with his darker doppelganger side.
      Windom Earle takes his lover into the other realm for Dale to rescue. It's the exact same dynamic in the new Sherlock Holmes movies- sherlock is the good magus and his opposite bad magus takes his lover

    I'm guessing and hoping that it took a long damn time, but Dale kicked Bob's ass and regained enough control to pull himself and Bob into a nightmare realm, after some kind of killing spree where Dale turned on his friends. He shed blood and tortured people while being controlled, but Dale used his inner focus sorrow and rage to reassert himself and lock himself away, coming out in the new series as himself again, desperate to kill Bob entirely after struggling for so long to be free.
    Either that, or I think that the whole town was consumed by the energies of Bob and Dale and the Lodges, locked in time due to the spiritual turmoil of a force of dedicated Order and Chaos locking the entire setting in time, reemerging in the present due to something changing the stalemate. But either way, as someone who isn't the biggest fan of Twin Peaks, you have certainly kindled a big interest, and I'm excited to hear what you have to say.
    I'm glad to see that a fan like yourself who waited for so long gets that payoff in the new series, I can only imagine how exciting it must be, and I hope that it delivers (y)

      @michaelsnow1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It would have been incredible to see the third season back in the day if it had been made. The town could have been torn apart by accusations and violence as evil Dale turned everyone against one another. I hope good Dale got out of the lodge soon. If he was trapped there for years I can't imagine him being sane afterward. Just a week left to find out!

    His coffee is a prop reference to the ashed oil pool outside the Black Lodge. This show is so good it is ridiculous. The spirits in the WL /BL are the remains of subgods and demigods. Their closest relatives are perhaps Mayan or Aztec they share a distant similarity. Agent Cooper and Briggs are good, but the show hinges on maybe good is not enough because modern society is producing too much garmonbozia (evil soul food, chaos). Cherry Pie is of course the stand in for GOOD SOUL FOOD, innocent order made into a Pie. Fire Walk with Me is a blatant reference to the Yellowstone cycle of fire death and land bridge culture.

  • @rachelbailey6469

    Did Annie even survive? The last we see her she's covered with blood. And is Laura in the Black Lodge really her doppelganger? I thought she was Laura's ghost that was trapped in there because of the way she died.

    • @michaelsnow1
      @michaelsnow1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A deleted scene from Fire Walk With Me shows Annie recovering in the hospital after getting out of the lodge. She is somehow communicating with Laura from the future so she does get out OK. There are two Laura's in the lodge I think. The evil one with no pupils in her eyes is some sort of Doppleganger for Laura. The eye thing is the same sign all of the other people explicitly called Dopplegangers have so that must be hers.

    I could see there is a deeply closeted aspect of Harry Truman, considering the way he seemed to be deeply wounded by the betrayal of Hank, lamenting about Hank that he "was the best of them". And the secret society? Bookhouse boys? Sounded very queer-coded. Also the fact that Harry never married nor have children, is a common code for homosexuality.
    On the other hand I think we were overlooking how similar Cooper AND Josie Packard is: They both have a fashion taste, slicked-back hair, an outsider of the town with dark, mysterious past where a former mentor figure is obsessed with destroying their lives... Cooper is Josie...in a way. And that makes Harry's attraction to Josie sort of like a projection of his repressed sexual orientation. Just my thought when I was watching the show.

    I've only watched about half of this so far and I have to say no. Just no. You say that Cooper and Truman may be gay. You also refer to something about agent Cooper as being adorable. I think Cooper and Truman have a genuine male friendship. Doesn't mean they have gay tendencies. I think you may have gay tendencies due to your usage of the word adorable in describing something about agent Cooper, and are projecting your tendencies onto them. Idc if you're gay. Have at it. Also you think that Cooper should have slept w/Audrey Horne cuz that would've been some fascinating story line or w/e nonsense you called it. That wouldn't have been an interesting story line. It would've been a typical soap opera story line and completely taken away from agent Cooper's charm and uniqueness. I appreciate that you're trying to do a break down of agent Cooper, but I just can't watch anymore. Thank God David Lynch doesn't take creative advice from you.
