For me, Kyle MacLachlan pulls off one of the best performances in the history of TV and even cinema. The way he plays both Coopers, completely different characters. Amazing.
I mean, he practically plays four characters: Cooper, Bad Cooper, Dougie Cooper and the guy of the last episode, who seems to be Cooper but acts in a totally different way.
Kyle said in the interview about his characters that he didn't quite understand how to play Dougie when he read the script. But I think he handled it excellently
really enjoyed how coopisms bled through dougies character. Right when you almost forgot coop was in there somewhere, he hits us with stuff like "hes lying" and "make sense of it". makes for really satisfying payoff with " i am the fbi" love it to bits.
I remember cracking up at Dougie Cooper's acts, and then feeling like a dick about it. I mean, the character is clearly dysfunctional (even though he did not really suffer that much through it, mainly thanks to MIKE), but the absurd situations he got himself into could not really evoke more than laughter from me at first. Have you guys been feeling the same about it?
I just realized the reason why Dougie/Cooper talks only in phrases and act Childish is because he was reborn remember in the last part in S2 when Dale was in the Black Lodge and he was stabbed by Windom he basically died in the Black Lodge where he got stuck in there for 25 years but hey that’s just my theory.
Dougie Jones speech reminds me of when you're in a dream and are trying to speak and it's hard to get the words out. These are the times you end up often talking in your sleep.
Not sure how many actors could sell this defragged characterization of a human as well as Kyle M. The seemingly simple can be actually quite complicated.
Just saw something where he says the Dougie/Cooper character was inspired by Peter Sellers in 'Being there' people just ignored that he was not all there.
You've completely missed that. Cooper's soul was never trapped in Dougie. Dougie and Cooper switched places. You clearly see the actual Dougie Jones die in The Lodge. The Dougie at the end is a Tulpa, not a doppelganger. So, technically, the last appearance is 'home'.
What is with the music? It didn't used to be here. It completely distracts. I don't know what kind of Adderall or drugs you're on, but take the music out. I'm going to seriously go online and post my own scene by scene recreation of this video sans background music

Ratchet Achenbach and don’t forget he also played the real Dougie Jones too
@@strawberryrhubarbs Exactly.
Dave Iden Yes, but that was for what, 1 minute?
And wasn't even nominated for an emmy...
I think it's really sweet how patient and accepting all the other characters are of Booper.
I kind of wish Albert had met Dougie.
"Dougie learn to say BAD THINGS,...Albert say BAD THINGS!"
"I'm tired,"
Dale hasn't slept in almost 30 years
Dougie saying 'badge' under his breath at 2:06 is priceless
Ethanol why was he obsessed with the badges ?
@@TheDreamer452 Because in season 2 he used one when he turned into a cop, and for the fact that his old friends all used badges, except lucy.
@@gustavodanielsantossilva5528 he also showed people his FBI badge when people asked about his identity.
Imagine Harry seeing Cooper like this and saying “Coop, did you lose your marbles?” 😂
He would definitely ask that
wow what a great joke you just said

Dougie Jones : Jade give two rides...
Janey-E : I BET SHE DID !
This video makes me so happy
same.
I lost it in the confession scene when he says “thank dougie” hahaha cooper really shines through
I lost it when I saw your username.
@@sundromos9456 What's funny about "@grieftick"?

Him asking one of the casino girls "wife?" had me dead.
This was such a treat.
Dougie’s story line is the best thing i ever saw in my life.
agreed.
Me and my husband keep quoting "Call for help." All the time lmao
lol! I tend to use 'case files' when at work lol
Call for help
what a wholesome character
"Love you" was one of the sweetest moments on the show.
So wholesome.
i agree
the line delivery on "Mr Jackpots" is priceless, Kyle MacLachlan is an amazing actor
I like how naomi proudly pats him
2:44
This character was the best thing to happen to this show. Hilarious.
Hellooo!
Hellooo-o-ooo!
A winner is dougie-cooper !
The fact that Dougie only has about 5 minutes of dialogue in probably 15 episodes (cant remember how many episodes hes in)
id watch a whole movie of this
Being There (1979) directly influenced Kyle's performance as Dougie
Kyle is genious
“Jade give 2 rides” is still crazy hilarious ❤😂
Initially, I didn't like Dougie; and just like the characters in the show, I grew to love him so, so, much. Brilliant acting.
classic
Nice touch with the ending
DOUGIE JONES DAMN GOOD
I remember cracking up at Dougie Cooper's acts, and then feeling like a dick about it. yes, but also reember the incredible force he desplay when needed
He was adorable and you knew he was the real cooper by how much he loved coffee. He was still genius but it was buried deep.
h0rseradish the ending with janey e and sonny Jim is one of the most emotional points in the entire series
He's a beacon of hope, good, and innocence in a world that's gotten much worse since Cooper left. It's okay to laugh, that's the point.
No. In no way. It’s meant to be funny. He’s one of the most hilarious characters I’ve ever seen. And I don’t feel bad about it at all.

Twin Peaks will always be a part of my life along with the film K-Pax.
They touch your very heart.
What's K-Pax?
@@HOTD108_ What pass, Carlos Paz???
Kpax touched more than that bro
I haven't thought of that film in a long time and now I need to find and watch it again. Great movie.
damn good acting

i wish this video was without underlying music:)
was thinking exactly the same, why, why, why
IDK maybe it's the brainrot talking, but the mind-numbingly repetitive music almost adds to the experience
Me in a nutshell

i enjoy this video about Dougie Cooper in season 3 of Twin peaks
CAWH-FEH
Dougie crushed me so hard dude. It took like 17 fucking episodes to see my boi coop mane

The worst of this season. Honestly.

dont talk shit about season 3 it was bad ass
