    As a fellowship-trained rhinologist, I came across this and wanted to add that while it's great if this works for people, it's unlikely or impossible that its success is due to sinus drainage. There are multiple causes of facial pain, most which are not from mucus buildup in sinuses. Again, it's great if this massage technique helps people, but if you're having bothersome facial pain, it might be prudent to see a facial pain specialist rather than focus only on your sinuses as the cause. That said, it may also be important to seek out an ENT specialist or rhinologist to determine if your pain is from sinusitis.

    • @nitas1473
      @nitas1473 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      if it is that! how do you fix this problem if you have sinusitis?

    • @JohnCraigNose
      @JohnCraigNose 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It requires evaluation by an ENT surgeon, and if no sinusitis is found, then a neurologist, perhaps a fellowship-trained headache specialist. Again, if facial pain/pressure is the main concern. If you have allergies too, may need an allergist's opinion as well.

    • @nitas1473
      @nitas1473 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a CT scan booked this month. I did ask my GP to send me to get tested & to see a allergist ... I would think a allergy test would be done before a CT scan, put what would I know. just seems to make sense to me. what's your opinion?

    • @JohnCraigNose
      @JohnCraigNose 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree in general that CT comes later unless a physician detected a symptom concerning for some type of pain unrelated to sinusitis. The problem is the CT is very misleading bc around 1/3 of the population has something abnormal on CT but is not necessarily pathologic. Additionally studies have shown the location of CT findings do not correlate well with the pain. Not the end of the world to get the CT, but can be tricky to know what to do with whatever it finds.

    • @nitas1473

    Dr. Blue eyes:) How about to relieve pressure on the bones right in front of the ears, guess somehow related to the jaws? I feel pain there too! Also, I want to know of permanent natural remedies to treat allergies/sinus problems once and for all!! It seems like meds, massages, saline rinses are temporary fixes... but honestly I wanted to be cured for good,am sick and tired of having these symptoms many months of the year!! Thanks a lot:):)

    My friend has just found this video as I’m having severe sinus issues since having covid six weeks ago, doing what you’ve suggested I can feel the pain in my right side which is the side I’m having problems with so am guessing that side is infected and blocked. Antibiotics haven’t cleared it so I will be doing this along with steam treatment for the next few days to see how I go, thank you for the tip!
