i was about to post a comment like this one, and also add "please create a serie for the next Le Mans 2023, and give this guys a raise!" Great prodution, and absolutely fantactic team!! Congrats to Porsche!
Clear, only one thing to improve, the sound volume balance between some parts (example, interview, real live records and commentators need some volume tune to be "equals") but yes what a masterpiece !!
Richard is a massive figure in terms of the calm he brings and his wealth of experience in racing. What a great guy, and I miss seeing him racing in this series. Please Porsche do a series on Richard and other race teams, this is so well produced it will be a hit.
I'm huge fan of endurance racing and especially the 24 hours of Le Mans. I've been attending to this race for the last 44 years (I only missed 2002 edition and I'm still regretting it). When you know this race like me and you watch a film/documentary about it, it's very difficult and rare to feel the real "spirit" of Le Mans. And with this serie, I clearly felt it. People filming/assembling the episodes understood what is Le Mans and have been successfull in reproducing the "Le Mans spirit" and it's a great great performance. Some filming shots are very rare compared to many other films about Le Mans I already watched. It's probably one of the greatest films I ever saw about this so fantastic race.
Having only attended once (2016) as a guest of Ford I can attest to the utter chaos that is Le Mans. These drivers, especially the pros, have so much on their shoulders when they are on track that I don’t think any movie can capture. That doesn’t even speak to the crowds, parties and traffic around la Sarthe. I’m a combat veteran and consider myself calm under pressure, and I weekend race a Cayman S with 20-30 cars, and there is absolutely nothing you could offer me to get into a car in modern endurance racing. Thank you for this series and thank you Porsche for your passion you pass onto us.
Following this series from series 1, episode one. No forced f1 drama of other racing series can match this docuseries of progress that Michael showed. Props to the racing team, production team and guys that decided to create this.
Life really is amazing, to see someone like Michael nervous, 2nd guessing himself, unsure and frankly scared too, you realise its normal for me to feel like that. Its not because i am weak or an idiot, life really is like that for everyone.
Life is like a big roller coaster, throwing you about, ups and downs, highs and lows -- that's normal. We all feel weak and we all feel like idiots when we screw things up, but we're all just humans, we're not super machines with super computer brains, we're not infallible. We experience high and low energy levels and we're often overwhelmed by all the stuff we have to do. Life is a difficult place to be, so just accept that this is normal -- everyone is going through it.
Netflix should learn how to do racing documentaries by watching this series. Brilliant efforts from the racing team, production team, and the company. Brilliant.
I don't want to even THINK about how much $$$$$ it costs to go racing, but I hope this series can continue for YEARS to come. It's really SO great, and it's clear that Michael is putting 100% of himself into this effort. Cheers all around.
Since season 1 this series has been nothing short of phenomenal. Watching Michael on his journey it’s like we’re all right there with him he’s done remarkably well, even the greats make mistakes and he’s learning relatively later on career wise. I for one am hoping there will be another season because it is quite simply the best motorsport documentary/series I’ve ever seen. Thank you Porsche and Michael don’t stop now 🙌🏻
The problem with getting into a negative headspace is that you can dwell in it and get sucked further and further down -- and get stuck there. Then kind of give up -- because giving up is often easier than trying to repair and work through and regain your momentum. Meditation always seems to help me, or sometimes an event that pulls you out of it but, left to your own devices, it is only you who can start pulling yourself up and onwards again. It's a difficult place to be.
That’s kind of the beauty of this series. Or terror. Porsche and FASTBENDER have spent the last two episodes focused on his head games and negative psychology. That is nearly an hour of video and screen time. In a typical movie the hero brushes it off and 5 minutes later the world is saved. This is why this is the best miniseries on TH-cam.
@@8020Alive Strong point. I hope some of the people who have been making disparaging comments about Fassbender read your comment. Also, I think a lot of the disparagers have intimate experience with not shaking something off in a “timely” manner, and can’t handle seeing it. Mirror reflections can be uncomfortable. I can definitely say that there were moments that I felt like I was looking in a mirror. Also, I think showing all that vulnerability was intentional and a bit brave of Fassbender and the team behind this series. They could have edited it very differently. Yeah, this series is about so much more than just racing. It’s great.
The quality of the series is supperb but pace of this episode is out of this world. You can feel the Le Mans atmosphere and the tension that is present before the race.
Michael, working in an industry which seeks perfection but with the massive benefit of multiple takes or attempts I can totally understand the pressure he's putting himself under.
I´m a big fn of motorsport and didn´t watch LeMans live because of you guys, I wanted to feel that emotions watching this mastepiece. Thank you Porsche, we are with you Michael.
Seeing the whole Porsche team coming together to keep encouraging Fassbender to keep at it. God I am just rooting for Michael to make some headway. Every time theres another episode uploaded I am praying Michael has conquered the beast.
Amazing as always and entertaining at the same time....love the play between knowledge and experience...and hope one day will flourish to driving wisdom
Best documentary ever, imho… Baiting that Aston to the outside to pass on the in was a great job by Matt, he’s fast as hell. He’s like a monster in hiding😈🤘🏻 was hoping things played out well for the team and that preview clip of the next episode just made my heart sink😳🥺…. Cannot wait too see what is next.
Enjoying these videos. Brings back a 22 year old memory.... I am no race car driver...but I did go to a Panoz 4 day Racing School late 2000. I was slow ( but not the slowest) and the more experienced driver ended up long gone at the 10 lap end of school ' driving session' I gave me a feel what it was like to be on a road course race track.
Great ep as always, the soundtracks were next level. Also, was great to see Patrick Dempsey in the garage, being one of the most famous stars to successfully tackle Le Mans.
@@adriancorse13 Yeah, I hear ya. I don't know why Porsche is so closed off about the music they use. I get that they paid for licensing but no credit given to the track artists otherwise.
Mesmerising. This just seems to get better with every episode if that’s possible. Everyone involved should be hugely proud of themselves. One thing that springs to mind is why have Fassbender and/or Porsche not employed a Psychologist to help with the mental aspect? We all know that racing is very much a mind game and especially endurance racing where you are part of a group. A good example is Sky/Ineos in pro cycling who started employing someone to help their riders with negative energy and to help give them their ‘marginal gains’
It’s tough, and real, to see how much Michael punishes himself for what happened. One must move on, but it’s not as simple as just flipping a switch. Much respect for anyone navigating that kind of mental storm. ✊🏽
This is the best video series on TH-cam, and I eagerly await each episode, then immediately devour it. I’ll really be sad when the series is complete, and hopefully Porsche will continue, but with a series for the LMDh development and initially Le Mans run.
It's so nuts to me. I've been told this lesson so many times as I suffer the same affliction. But somehow it is still surprising to physically see it in someone else. Despite him having a successful acting carrier, ridiculously fit, a smoking hot, intelligent wife, this opportunity. BUT, he is still riddled with self-doubt! Needing constant, external support/validation. Painting himself as some helpless victim that is being thrown to the wolves as a amateur driver when he's been in the program with a huge budget for years now. It's not meant as a negative review of him. It just rams home that lesson once again. You can have literally everything. And still be searching for what will bring you happiness = but it can only ever be found where it's completely free. Inside yourself!
I feel for Michael. He was definitely performing really well in earlier seasons and when he’s on he can really deliver. There’s just a ton of pressure and so many spectators and the cost of mistakes are so high. Doesn’t help that the two teammates he became closest with for 2+ years suddenly had to leave. Pros are interchangeable but for a rookie it’s probably nicer to have people you can confide in
