  • The tour of Idaho is a dirt bike event that consists of an unsupported, unassisted, 13 day, 2300 mile ride from Idaho's southern border with Utah to the northern border with Canada. Day three was 197 miles and took 17.0 hours to complete.
I started in Smokey Bar Store and ended at the Challis.

Thanks, buddy.. appreciate the comments. I'm just like all of you. Just make it happen. And that spot with the color of the sky and the trees. I absolutely love it. Wish I kept the camera on longer. The trip is hundreds of those moments, and they live on with you. It becomes addictive.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate all the great comments I am receiving. A quote from Martin. "Life is short. And you're dead a long time. "

It seemed more like a sprint than tour? Any camping at those nice mountain lakes? Cool trek

yes, it has turned into that. that is a disappointing side to the whole trip, you don't get to stop often and take it all in. you will never make it through the day. but thats part of the event and why it is such a challenge.

In 2022 I remember you had a lot of trouble with back tires. What did you do different this time? The going doesn't look any easier...

in 2023 i ran a more hybrid tire, the tires we used in 2022 were a much softer compound and didnt last. not being from the area, in 2022 i took recommendations from the locals and went with what other teams were doing, it didnt pan out..

I just noticed only one Garmin in this vid? What happened to the second one?

When I dropped it in the river on Day 5, my knee hit it and broke the Ram Ball mounting point.

Makes sense, honestly I found using one Garmin worked great. Did you miss the second one?

it was very helpful on Day 2 and the mystery days, to have that larger view. but i was good with one device after that. Ill stick with one for now. worst case you stop and take a break while you get your bearings..
