Dear Rakesh ji, ideally tyre manufacturer should tell this based on rubber they have used and stock recommended tyre pressure. But let me try to answer it for you: I see in your other comment where you mentioned 90% of time you do offroad or drive in offroad conditions so it is advisable to drive with little lesser tire pressure (may be 1 or 2 point). When you drive on the highways, drive with stock recommendations. If you feel with least loads, it is bit stiffer on highways with stock pressure then reduce it with one point to make it bit comfortable. But if you are running with loads then you may increase it with 1-2 higher (not more than that). Do not increase the tire pressure in rainy, snowy and slippery conditions at all. In those conditions irrespective of loads reduce tire pressure by 3-4 points for safety perspective. Hope, this helps. 👍

Replaced stock tyres with Yoko Geolander AT 215/75/ R15 white marking thailand import ,immidiately on buying. What should be ideal tyre pressure for these ,front and back ? Stumbled upon your video , good content .
Thanks my friend! :-) Well, this is more a question for tyre manufacturer based on few factors, e.g. existing recommendation in stock, rubber type of new tire, and definitely size etc. Just to answer your question 1 point extra should work but not more than that because ATs normally have harder rubber than the H/L. Hope, this answer your question.
Am using 215, 75, R15 import yokohama geolander. AT tyre. And what about carrier? Use half carrier bimra too. Is it right sir? Am not facing any problem, in terms of pickup and others too. Wil it be good to install a working snorkel, will it help some of its performance sir?
My friend, Geo Thailand is a really good tyre with very aggressive treads, it must have bluish white letters embossed. It surely gives friction on highspeeds and a bit less avg. Good to hear you are enjoying the performance. I personally do not like half carrier because you can't distribute the weight all over. Otherwise, it is good, the main thing is the fitting. Working snorkeling is a good option, it will help a little not very significantly also you need to care at the car wash nobody is pushing water into. Hope, this helps! ☺️ Feel free to ask more questions! 👍
@mashofreaks - I got continental cross contact AT 215/75/R15 installed and i feel jimny really good on it. What are ur thoughts abt continental cross contact 215
One thing learned from engineers NA can run higher compression ratio than FI Turbo, but GDI Turbo can run higher & are very costly. I am glad Suzuki kept NA engine for Jimny. Also thanks for saving money on tires, will buy Red Jimny Alpha AT in Nov, will use stock tyre for few thousand kms before upgrading to 215s. I hope Suzuki keep selling Jimny by then. Obviously higher pricing of Thar Roxx has given Suzuki opportunity to not offer discount, Jimny have been Unique only 5door 4x4 AT Petrol currently
I love your sensible comment but few things to add here: NA's are more reliable. FI Turbos are good but outperform in many situations. GDI Turbos are better but missused in India, companies saving money putting that against 3 cylinder engine which is waste of money including 3XO. How this companies making fool of people selling 13-14 lakhs vehicle with 3 cylinder, very bad. Best to buy NA, error free, proven and no complexity - straight forward. I am working on this topic and video will be out soon. Most welcome about tyres, test stock tyres, these will not disappoint you and best Highway rides among all - my tried and tested experience. Well, I like Thar but I never compare it with Jimny, both different vehicles in more than 90% of things. And specially ROXX, it is now totally a different segment. Jimny is not going anywhere, take my words. Lastly, a question: Any specific reason to buy AT?
@@MashofreaksAuto I am from Navi Mumbai near Thane & its always an hour in traffic to get out and explore anywhere. This Jimny is going to my 1st car, I just want to explore India in it a little convenience of AT would be helpful. But still will be taking TD in Oct of both MT & AT.
@@MashofreaksAuto Oh yeah the simplicity of NA is the reason I love it also engine music of NA sounds great for me I know its subjective, but I like NA engines.
Sure, this makes a lot of sense. Great, let me know any Jimny related questions you have or otherwise as well. Any automobile related stuff. Also, if you can, help to spread my content in the right audience. Thanks 😊 👍
Hi sir Very informative video ..Ian.from Kerala ,using. stock.tyres..Need to do snow ride on February for the mountaingoat..is the stock tyres enough..
Thanks Mathew! This is a bit complex to answer straigtforwardly. But let me try it at my best. Well, there are many aspects of snow rides. Snow is a bit we commonly refer to all kind of snow terrains but you will see many different varities and situations and hilly terrains add on to this. If it is lots of slush with snow then these skinny shoes give you a grip but also how you drive is main thing. It is not just shoes, vehicle but most of the cases who drive it. I am not saying tyres won't play a role here. But please keep in mind if you go for one of best snow tire still you may need snow chains. At steep gradiants with icy snow, it is very difficult for any tire go smoothly up or down. Never every apply brakes while you are down hill with Icy snow (fresh snow is different). In fresh snow, there is no issues up to 1 foot if you can handle this decently. You experience matters, it hardly matter if you have 215/75 R15 tyres to deal with unless you don't know how to use either of these. Hope, you understand this. But discussion does not end here, please ask a specific question so I will answer it more firmly. Short Answer: Yes, you can handle snow conditions with these tires decently, I did many times little more than a feet snow (but hill gradiants make a lots of difference). Simple rule is, harder the tire lesser is the grip and go slow and steady to win the race in snow. If you are serious about snow and planning few times then buying snow chains is a good option (never use snow chains in rocky or on tarmac conditions). Also, never think that bigger tyres won't need snow chains. Hope, this answers to some extent. Feel free to ask as many as questions you like to, I will be glad to answer all of them. I am waiting for winters to shoot a videos to answers similar questions in snow condition. Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting! :-)
Have done Sela pass with snow and ice on stock tyres.. no issues. All vehicles including fortuner and Innova on snow chain but jimny did it without the snow chains
One more thing, I did 15 different high passes mostly above 5000m and I must say this performed well in stock tyres except for a bit of reduced braking. If you like please help to spread the content in the right forum. Thanks 👍
Very infomative video Sir. but sir i am already late☺, changed my tyre a week back, anyways sir if you could kindly share some more information about the trye psi accoring to the tyre size. thank you !
My friend, it is just our brain play with us most in our life! So there is nothing like early and late in this context instead we use them as part of a dictionary. Just enjoy whatever you got. To answer your question, ideally, based on the percentage from the stock size change and kind of rubber manufacturer used in new tires it is more a responsibility of tire manufacturers to tell this. Call them on the helpline and ask them. Please revert if still you need help after talking to them my friend. I am here to support you! Hope, this makes sense. Thanks ☺️👍
Sir, another great video. Thorough analyzing of the issue from multiple view points. Can u explain us sprung and unsprung weight?(weight above and below suspension). I suppose a small increase in the unsprung weight ( tyres) will increase the over all load on the vehicle drastically. What is the maximum permissible weight of the tyre with out creating unwanted strain on multiple vehicle components? Also if possible something that does not cancel warranty on multiple components. Once having fixed the maximum permissible weight of the tyre, then we can consider the available options, whether AT or MT.
Thank you! Well, unsprung weight of heavier or bigger tyre as I explained in the video is more on the engine who provide the torque and the suspension well and spring struts are also part of that. As a thumb rule if 3% increase the tire size is the safest bid and it will not put much pressure on the suspension and engine because things are designed for that much of tolerance. MT vs AT is more a usage parameters than the maximum permissible weights.
Well, personally I experienced up to 5% won't give issues in most cases. But the recommended safest bid is within 3% because it is a high and high ground clearance vehicle.
Ok sir. Stock tyre weight is 9.5 kgs. 3 to 5 % weight increase means, we can go for a tyre that is maximum 10 kg. You said to keep the profile height the same in this video. What AT or MT tyre options (brands and size) will be available in that 10 kg range? How about AT and MT tyre options in 195 or 205 width?
3% is size, you can't do much with weight when you do an upsize. You probably will not see AT tire in 205 in India. There may be very few if at all available so the 195 next is only 215 with some constraints I talk about in video. Thanks 👍
Thank you Sir! It's my pleasure and glad you like it. 😊🎉 This Sat at 1 PM, please stay tuned to DEEP DIVE NVH LEVELs which are not limited to Jimny. Help to spread the words if you like. 😊🙏
Though you covered how weight matters. Rim size of Jimny is 5.5J and per European standards, 205 is maximum width of tyre that can be used on that RIM . Though I have seen people using 215/75 without any issues barring poor mileage . What’s your opinion about Bridgestone 215/75 AT . I can see they have this option available now on there website
Hmnn, Odometer and speedometer both. The entries are mapped in ECM to synch with many modern safety features which need to keep in mind before those calibrations.

@@MashofreaksAuto - what is ur preferred tyre choice for Jimny .😊
I love your sensible comment but few things to add here:
NA's are more reliable.
Sensible thought 👍
It's just because of its weight and small footprints which makes it one of the strongest off-roaders.
@@MashofreaksAuto Thank you very much sir..
Thanks ☺️👍
@@MashofreaksAuto thank u sir

Great sir. I assume you mean 3% increase in tyre weight and not size.
Thanks 👍
Brilliant
Thanks Kunal sahab! 👍
Sir, you are just awesome
Thank you Sir! It's my pleasure and glad you like it. 😊🎉
This Sat at 1 PM, please stay tuned to DEEP DIVE NVH LEVELs which are not limited to Jimny.
A good point, but it is very marginal so mostly works flawlessly. Thanks for your comment! 👍
Thx for the detail information 👍🏼
Thank you for watching and commenting 👍
Great review
Thank you Aditya ji. 😊👍
Everyone is under estimating the stock tyres..Its actually very good in all terrains..
Rightly said for the most of the applications, soft rubber gives advantage in gripping.
You need to adjust the odometer setting (i think its metres/revolution of a tyre), it can be adjusted by an experienced service man.
Hmnn, Odometer and speedometer both. The entries are mapped in ECM to synch with many modern safety features which need to keep in mind before those calibrations.
@@MashofreaksAuto yes, i saw a video about it somewhere in youtube long time ago...
Wonderful Sir 😊👍
I year ownership With 235/75/15 Yokohama geolander no problem
Now Preparations are underway to upgrade to 32 inch
You are a courageous person and only the people like you set the new benchmarks. As I said, not everyone has the same objectives and a very few like you.
Keep on going but avoid serious engine mods.
All the best! 👍
@@MashofreaksAuto Thx Sir
Sir Sir if I go with 285/75/16 then this 33 It will be approximately 15 inches if I try to go for 15 inch size best size will be 32/10.5/15 complete setup will be with 4 link 4 inch lift that too will be available soon last modification jimny I will have turbo sir, currently I am using it with snorkel steel pipe, the response to air is very good, I don't feel any lack of power
With no warranty and insurance of your car we both will travel to space 🚀. We will be late otherwise we could have brought SUNITA WILLIAMS back as well.
From jokes apart, feel free to ask any questions you have. And someday I would like to drive your little squirrel 🐿️ Jimny supercar if you will allow to. 😊👍🙏
Dear friend, the 235 has already eaten into your torque. The 32" is around as big as 275/75R15. Without re-gearing the vehicle, the torque will decrease heavily.
Please think about it.
Happy driving.
Mere hisaab sey insurance hai to aapko stock tyres par hee milega, kyonki jab nai car ka insurance hua tha tab wohi tyre tha jo company ne diya tha. Baaki kanhi likha to nahi hai par puchhne par Nexa Ney bataya tha ki aap 215 tyre tak ja sakte hain Bina warranty kay void hue.
sorry to say that, this video is not at all helpful for me because you are late ,i have already committed a big blunder by changing oem tyre to 235, have faced dangerous situation with in few days of changing the tyre ,now back to oem
