    Despite the cries of purists, adding two turbochargers has not ruined the 911. Far from it, actually.

    This reviewer was good. He should do more reviews; honest and straightforward.

    1) Reviewer tells us how he is going to tell us about the emotions of driving the car and how stats are all bs. Next sentence out of his mouth are stats ("they now come with the turbos")
    2) Reviewer complains about fake noise, yet the noise entering the cabin is very real (air intake induction)
    3) I learned nothing new watching this review versus other 991.2 reviews.
    I am in the market for a 991.2 S and this is the absolute worst review I have seen. CNET at its finest.
    Next time, hand the keys to Cooley, kid.

      I totally get it, -dolphins101 - It does not make any sense. People get that way describing a car though. The 0 to 60 and so on matters very little in real life. A car is not the stats of performance. Just like a person is not described by his weight and height. It is all about the personality.

    Has this guy done a review for Roadshow/CNET on Cars before? I don't recall seeing him before, but I really enjoyed his take on the 911. He's had the courage to flat out tell you he isn't going to be a Jeremy Clarkson or Chris Harris with the track experience and celebrity confidence, and instead tell you about the everyday mortal experience of driving a 911. After Cooley, this is the guy I want to see testing cars on Roadshow.

    What I like about the (old) PCM Satnav already is that it is very precise - Google maps on a phone in comparison has caused me some real fuck ups... I don't use the PCM for anything else, as dashcam interference renders audio useless anyway...

      so agree!!! i had my zo6/zo7 for 2 years, just traded into a '17 NSX... the thing about "track" focused cars is that they are fun for the track but you canno't exploit the full potential on the street and if you do they try to kill you! Probably because you cannot get the tire temps high enough on the streeet to get the proper grip when flogging it hard on the street!

    • @JBsC6
      @JBsC6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lauren Moldowan best of luck with your new NSX...I've never found D the performance of my corvette which tops out at 190 MpH or accelerates to sixty MpH in 4 flat, pulls one lateral cornering GS...but that's what make the variety of sports cars we have available to us so great. enjoy that new sports car!

    Here is the thing: The reviewer has never driven another modern 911 and that's the key problem. I have driven both the new 2016 4S with turbo as well as the 2015 model without. The naturally aspirated engine is clearly slower, but it sounds so much better that I'd know in a heartbeat which one to get. If you have not driven the last model, how can you actually review the new one? That's what people will compare it to. Having said that is the new PCM great and the new steering wheel an even better upgrade. Love the button that switches to sport mode for 20 secs.

    I do not care about PCM. A 911 is not an iPhone, but I guess this is CNET, so I'll deal with it!

    • @Baerchenization
      @Baerchenization 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd be amazed... people are crazy for this kind of thing. When I configured my 981, the very first thing when I sat down with the sales rep was that he ticked the PCM; I didn't really want it, I haven't listened to the radio in +20 years, but he wouldn't even let me open my mouth, saying that EVERYBODY wants the PCM. Reading Porsche forums, I can tell you this is kinda true... personally, I literally haven't touched it during the year I had the car now... there are plenty Porsches out there so it does make a difference when selling it. Then again, PCM is not cheap to begin with.

      Porsche options will kill the budget and virtually everything is an option that is 4K apiece, sometimes 8K. That's why I bought my 911 used, you don't have to pay 30K for the options.

  • @grisa12345
    @grisa12345 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I stopped watching when he said "honestly, how many people actually take these to the track?" --Let me help you with that: a LOT of people do. I track my sports cars regularly, and Porsches (all models and years) are probably the most common car spotted. Their owners track them, and the cars are the real deal at the track. This hipster doesn't understand the demographic.

  • @easyeagle3730
    @easyeagle3730 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kinda sick of all the Porsche fan boys that have never owned a 911. Buy a used 2008 Carrara for $40k or even a used Cayman for $15K. These are affordable and wonderful machines. 90% of people will never be able to afford a new base 911 for $95K.
