You literally can’t hate Porsche. They’re extremely fun, they look good, they sound good, and have very good performance. People always compare everything to Porsche for a reason. And if you want to modify these, you can do whatever you want to it. Drag car yes, track yes, show car yes. You can even daily drive it. These cars are extremely simple as well. Plus, the racing heritage adds to the character.

Haha I test drove a carrera couple months ago and man you reacted the same exact way I did. It felt so powerful for just a 370 horsepower. I felt my stomach go back and it launched so fast. I can't wait to get a porsche.

12:14 min - There actually is kinda brand loyalty, but mostly among 911 and Cayman/Boxster drivers (and not everybody greets the other either). Panamera and Cayenne/Macan are often driven for the simple purpose to get from A to B and are often not driven by enthusiasts.
That being said, I really enjoyed this review. Thank you for not looking at it through fanboy glasses. Congrats to your Corvette and always drive safe. 👍
Fun to see you driving one of these for the first time! I recently had to get rid of my '17 Carrera S (have a child now!) and really miss it; the 911 is such a sweet driver's car and I daily drove it every day with no issues. The 991.2 is an awesome platform now that they all have the turbocharged motors, even though purists turn up their noses since it's no longer NA, but I say to hell with them since the car now has gobs of low end torque making it much faster when driving around town. Even the base Carrera is fast as you've found out. For comparison, I ran a 11.5@120 in mine bone stock, so they are no slouches.
The 911 is absolutely the best sports car out there!

If you are out of warranty and all you want to do is go fast in a straight line than I can see your point other than that, porsche( or anything german really) all day
Natural aspiration is better. I hated the 991.2's at first, but they're slowly growing on me though. I still prefer either a GT3 or the 981 series Cayman GTS/GT4. You don't really notice the lack of low end torque if you don't drive them back to back.

I enjoyed this review so much! I have 10 months left on my 2020 BMW 740 lease and my teens have their own car so I could care less about backseat leg room for the 1st time in my life. I want this car!!!! Loved the review and your genuine excitement 🫶🏾
Porsche, Audi, BMW, Benz they don't rely on these "UN-necessary features", their refined and driver focused. They just mean business over their domestic counterparts. Everything is refined, or tout, built to entice or create a total sense of comfort. Too bad the maintenance is a total nightmare once you're out of warranty.
The main point of the 911 to *not* have any of those gimmicks is that it's a driver's car. It does have a G force gauge but overall, the point is to have a usable interior made from the best materials and be usable to anyone that sits in the car and drives it. It feels like an old friend immediately. That's why it doesn't have the gimmicks. Hell, they made a big compromise and put cup holders in it, which is unusual.
How can you differentiate yourself in a Corvette ? There is a reason why Porsche is a benchmark in the industry for performance and handling and it is a Sports Car that you can use daily and cruise in comfort all day long.... That is a base model on the 911 side and it is a awesome machine it might cost 100g plus but it is worth every penny and will maintain its value way more than a Corvette will ever be. But nice job on the review Riley and great to see Ms. RP soon to be Mrs. RP Keep up the great work. BTW the rear seats fold down to provide a place for your clubs
Michael Smith I enjoyed driving a corvette more then a Porsche. Personally corvettes fit my lifestyle more. They sound and how aggressive and scary a Z06 can be makes me smile way more than a Porsche
fiance has no clue what a 911 is. Not a lot of technology, but a car you can take to the track stock and run 170 mph. Porsch-ah. All german words that end with an e are pronounced ah. The 991.2 on the track will eat your vette. Last longer and be worth more money. You get what you pay for. Not suede, rather Alcantera. You buy a 911 for performance and history not buttons and gadgets. I think you really appreciated the car. Good video.

I got a corvette C6 and a 911 4S and I love them both for different reasons. The 911 does everything and for me it's the ultimate city car that you can take to the track
The golf clubs do fit on the rear seats.

I have a 2017 911S cabriolet and my ankle starts to hurt also because of the foot position but I noticed if I drive barefoot it’s not an issue.When I wear shoes my ankles get sore after a while especially my right foot,otherwise the car is absolutely fantastic .I love it and being my 5th Porsche 911 it’s my favorite version of the 911

Gimmicky features are just that gimmicks. Porsches are refined and only equipped with what is needed. That said, the more expensive 911s has less interior features as the price goes up.

Interesting that the HP and torque are kind of low. Lincoln has a new 3.0 twin turbo with 400 hp and 400 lb ft and you can get it in an MKZ. Not to compare the two and these numbers do not reflect the performance of the car, but for that kind of money I would like bragging rights with the HP numbers.
Jim Svo Porsche and BMW have a history of underrating their horsepower and torque numbers, so it more than likely makes more than the advertised 370 hp
Ok, but how much does that MKZ weigh? The 911 weighs like 800 lbs less. It can do a lot more with a lot less power. Think about this: the Ariel Atom only had 205 hp.
Oh, I totally agree the 911 will perform better than cars with higher HP specs probably due to the efficient transmission as well as low weight. I was just thinking the Germans are very over engineered and expensive and thought the engine should outshine a run of the mill American engine.
Actually I just looked found, the 911 4S has 420HP with the same 3.0L due to larger turbos. However, the torque is only 368 lb ft so maybe the PDK transmission has a torque limit they need to maintain.

2017 Porsche and I still have to put a key fob in and turn it? Come on now
The "keyless entry" still requires you to turn it, but you don't stick the key in. Its a permanent fob in the dash. Personally, I prefer to stick it in and turn. I also prefer stick shift, so maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Driving position - I can understand and agree. But gimicky features at 17:50? Hell no. Go buy a muscle car or Nissan GT-R if all you car about are 0-60 times. No one who buys a 911 Carrera/Carrera T/GT3 Touring for their 0-60 times or G-force numbers - they buy it because its a fun, involving car to drive.
Also, I didn't know that even after 10 years of TH-cam videos, plenty of people especially these car vloggers still pronounce Porsche incorrectly.
It must be so hard for them to get the pronunciation properly, or laziness.

Nah. They are beautiful and timeless. Name another car that could last 50+ years with roughly the same design. There are none. Other cars would get boring and uninteresting whereas the Porsche 911 has evolved with time to create a modern classic.
