      Every word..... Gospel. This woman..... .. My Father loved that if there was a female artist his Daughter was to admire.. follow... absolute WORSHIP. .... IT WAS - HER.
      I was reminded there's no one to worship other than God..... only..... but he could totally be Blessed in his little girl being influenced by such a talent. He rejoiced in her talent.. he rejoiced in his daughter knowing it. ❤ Amen.

      So, I am a very young 68 yr old father of seven and now have 5 grandchildren, all with one stunning and beautiful wife. We are closer than ever. Wow, we like each too!. My adoring wife and I have been very happily married for 40 years now. How is that, we chose too!!!
      I just surprised her with a beautiful exotic machine. It's Italian just like her. Why did I, while for no other reason than I like her. We also make sure we bless our adult children in many ways, too!. I am very grateful to be able to do these things.

I hadn’t realized until years later what the subject matter was. when I say that Pat had her eye on the ball, it had to do with sexual injustice. Every time I hear this song, I cry for the kids.

    • @sykojay
      @sykojay 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Robert Whitcomb we know his name and to answer your other question: He's underrated because if you talked to most people during the 80s about guitarists, the name Neil Giraldo probably wouldn't have been brought up. Names like Eddie, Randy, Satriani, Slash, Yngwie, George Lynch, Steve Vai, and many others would have been said way before him. And except for a few standouts, his name should be right up there because he's just as good, but really didn't get the same credit as those guys.

    Here's a little story that you've probably never heard anything about: sometime in the 1970s, before Pat became a rocker and got a label deal, she was living in Richmond, Va. (my hometown) with her military-member 1st husband. At that time she was singing sedate cocktail-lounge music with a small jazz combo. So, one day, she and her band did a performance on the local public t.v. station, and I saw it. I remembered it later because it wasn't long after that she re-emerged as a leotard-wearing, chopped-hair hard rocker, which was a shocking, 180° change from the frilly-blouse-demure-skirt-wearing, soft-jazz-singing woman I had seen on t.v. not that long before. I swear that's a true story, and that I still remember it all these years later. I'm probably one of the few people who remembers the pre-rocker Pat Benatar crooner.

      @@sl4983 Pat Benetar had so many excellently written songs it was almost unbelievable back then, I'd listen to this entire cassette tape back then and every song was a winner in all ways.
      Yes...I said "cassette tape". There were no cds or dvds back then. It was an acquired skill (only mastered after putting in too many hours of practice) to be able to land exactly on the beginning of any particular song on any cassette. No auto search or any other offers of assistance came from those mindless cassette players of the 70's & 80's. lol. People born after 1985 will never know the horrors of my / our #MisspentYouth . ha. She and her band gave every all male group a real run for their money.

    I just read about 50 comments and I would pretty much echo all the sentiments. When you have such a gift as Patty and this band, words can’t really describe it. I guess one might say it’s miraculous almost.

    Pat Benatar ruled the 80's and blew the doors off any and all competition. Yet it's her relationship, marriage and famiy values that makes her a class act and a cut above the rest. Kudos.
