Thanks for that demonstration! I see where these cheap Chinese bayonets fail. Even though it has "full tang" (which is screw welded onto stub tang and thin metal rod which screw on to it and pommel) the plastic outer is too weak to withstand the pressure of abuse. I would simply replace most of the outer plastic handle with steel tube of same length and that would make this bayonet much stronger. After that it can probably take any abuse you throw at it. The handle is easily disassembled by removing the allen bolt on the pommel. You can see how it is constructed without destructive testing.

Unfortunately the M9 design doesn’t lend itself well to use as a throwing knife.
