I wanted to ask, is it possible to do that with one or the arms of a pair of glasses?
I couldn't but notice that you cut the tip off of the tweezers to make them completely flat.
They search you after putting you in handcuffs. You won't have that Swiss Army knife.
Another option would probably be metal bristles you find along the gutters, which fall out of street sweepers. So it would have to be a city/town gutter.
@@glennmiller6759If they are thin enough, it should work. Or street sweeper bristles you commonly find along the gutter in a town/city.
Thank you for your video. For those who are unaware, Swiss Army Knife Tweezers can be purchased separately for around $4 each. They are very small and can be concealed more easily than trying to hide an entire Swiss Army Knife. Also small handcuff made of metal or plastic can be purchased separately for around $5. Furthermore a small plastic handcuff key would not be detected by a metal detector.
I have one in my belt loop on my pants
I have one in my belt loop on my pants
I have one in my belt loop on my pants
They will find it anyway you will be searched really good
@korstiaanakse1 That's an unexperienced wild assumption. I've gone trough 10 prisons and you'd be surprised the things officials fail to notice while searching. I've hidden illegal things between my fingers in searches designed to find anything illegal, no matter how small. A strip of metal like tweezers would only be found on de-metallised personal search with a designed metal-detector, very rare occurance in captivity.
Keep in mind that if you've been handcuffed, it's highly likely that someone is going to take everything you have away from you to prevent your easy escape. You will need to hide something on your person if you believe capture or arrest is likely.
Say you have the tweezers or metal shim hidden in your waistband, would like to see ranger dude get out of these handcuffs while hands cuffed behind his back.
Great way to add Resisting Arrest to your criminal record. 😉
Or in your person...#prisonpurse
Prison pocket
Do u mean the ol' prison wallet?? Ouch!!!!😂
As an escape artist back in the late 70's, I knew a number of ways to open cuffs. Had never seen the tweezers to defeat the double lock before. Thanks!
Can you share on your channel
Felix Immler The Swiss Army Knife Guy also showed how to pick a lock with the tweezers , paired with your video it makes Swiss Army Knife Tweezers an excellent S.E.R.E. Tool , Thanks sir .
My favorite SAKs don't have tweezers or toothpicks. These are the alox versions. As an armored courier, I had plastic handcuff keys sewn to the inside of my shirt tail. If cuffed, pull out my shirt tail and use the key.
Plastic key is the best method. So easy to hide on person and many different types are available! And they are undetectable.
The plastic keys I was referring to are from Imminent Threat Solutions (ITS Tactical). These are called skeleton keys. It's the ITS skull logo at the top of the key. The eyes of the skull go all the way through, giving an easy pass through for a needle and thread. Also, this key is so small (the smallest handcuff keys I have seen) that you could pat directly on the key and not feel it through a shirt.
Noted take clothse off of bank truck gaurds
@@todydn don't forget to take their swiss army knifes, too!
@@the_rover1 ohhh im putting on the gloves gettin wrist deep
Great video and a fantastic example of why, when you’re the one putting the cuffs on the “baddy”, you must ensure the keyholes are facing the baddy’s elbows, not his fingers.
Exactly.
@@RangerSurvivalandFieldCraft That's what I thought when you locked those cuffs. I will have to buy a pair and practice. Knowledge itself is great, but if you don't apply and practice it, don't have a hope you'll succeed under a stress conditions for the first time.
@@RangerSurvivalandFieldCraftand have the palms facing outward.
Couldnt use just use your other hand?
A person really needing this skill likely has to practice on S&W, Hiatt, Peerless and whatever enemy brands available in both hinge and chain. Practice behind your back, in the dark, cold, hungry, tired and maybe even sick and injured.
In the military where i serve we use TCH 810 and TCH 830 (hinged cuffs) propperly applied you wont be able to reach the keyway when cuffed
I shot myself in the eye just so I could practice in realistic conditions...
@@Superbus753 T Y
Thank you for your service @@billybunter3753
I was trained in security to always cuff someone with the keyhole facing up the arm. I dont believe this would be impossible, but likely much more difficult.
Thanks for the video!
My thoughts as well.
Allow me to confirm it would absolutely be impossible in that scenario.
shit now I gotta practice both ways should our paths meet one day
That explains the Swiss Army's nickname, "The Uncuffables".
Unlocking the double lock behind your back will be the most fun.
I'd watch that video. 😊
Even with a cuff key, it's difficult. Practice obviously helps.
@@mattmarzula Especially with palms out.
I love that little Swiss Army knife. It’s perfect for little medical kits or hygiene kits. It’s got the scissors and tweezers and toothpick a little blade and file. It’s a great design and size. Great video.
IMHO the Rambler model is the most useful of the small SAKs.
Also if you don't use the toothpick, you could put a second set of tweezers in the toothpick slot.
Plastic handcuff keys are available online for a nominal cost.
I've got 8 Swiss army knives (all different) and I love them all. There's nothing they can't do.
Drill for oil. Go.
@@silvermediastudio done it. I now own an oil company (and I'm gonna buy more Swiss army knives).
He who dies with the most swiss army knives wins.@@candyquahogmarshmallow8257
Another useful little tool to use them are a good thick safety pin and a paper clip.
I wish I knew that 40 years ago! I was at work and my son locked his self in the handcuffs and we didn’t know where the key was. I had to leave work and come home and cut the handcuffs off. I just wish I would’ve known that then. Thanks for another great video. I remember that if I ever get handcuffed, which I hope never and I hope they don’t take my Swiss army knife lol.😅
not sure why you didn't just stop by the police station and ask them to remove them for free
😯
Never thought of it or I would have. Thanks 😊
This was the best video demonstration of escaping handcuffs I have seen, bar none! Thank you for uploading.
Makes a good case to wear a belt with your pants. I keep shims and a key taped to the underside of my belt. (Also a razor blade, if traveling overseas a few gold coins to grease the skids.)
Ah, a very useful skill...and fun to boot! There was an escape artist in a variety show that I stage managed and he demonstrated this to me backstage so quickly that I couldn't really tell what he was doing. You just revealed the secret signs he looked for. Thanks, hope I never need to use this, but my SAK just became even more versatile, haha
I only hope I'm to old now to ever need this, but knowledge is power. An your right Andy, never saw anybody else do this. Thx for the vid Andy
You never dissapoint. Great videos. Thank you for sharing as always.
I'm pretty darn sure , they will be taking any knives , or other things off you , when you get cuffed . Just sayin .
Boot lace keys , belt loop keys , and sneaky stuff like that , may still be on you .
Jailhouse music: I Fought The Law, Ole Red, Smugglers’ Blues, Folsom Prison Blues, 30 Year Night, Chain Gang… You and I had a brief discussion over defeating swivel and hinged handcuffs a while back when you first introduced us to escaping handcuffs. One thing that could be added in the forward thinking process is to have some escape devices hidden away for either front or rear restraint. It wouldn’t do to have your escape tools hidden in the front and your hands end up cuffed behind your back. Also hope that whomever is detains you isn’t meticulous in patting you down. Oh, I wasn’t allowed to play any of that music for some reason in my last job.
"Breakin' the Law" by Judas Priest has to be on that playlist.
@@kj3n569"He's in the Jailhouse Now" & "Birmingham Jail" too!
Like to see you try that with a pair of rigid cuffs🤔. There aren’t many police services in the UK that use the older style of cuffs with a chain separating them anymore.
Is it possible to make a Swiss Army Knife even more useful than it already is? Ranger Survival says YES.
Great video sir, something different and very fun. Well done.
Nice way to carry a concealed shim!
Once again a good example for thinking outside the box! Thanks for sharing!
The idea that someone would handcuff you and leave you with your SAK is hilarious.
But if an ally had one, they could get the cuffs off.
lol....... You'd be hilariously surprized then. Police detectives and patrol officers and left me with a larger knife that that before and being cuffed, searched and transported.
I always carry a cuff key on my person. I was going through a metal detector in Arkansas, and the deputy sheriff told me it was illegal for civilian carry. Good G2 on the split racquet key. I'll have to look into purchasing a set of those cuffs. Great suggestion about manipulating the enemy by presenting a front cuff option. Finally, I don't know how flexible you are but I used to be able to reposition cuffs to the front.
Plastic keys are sold online.
Those may be illegal to carry as well, so you need to check before carrying one. I wouldn't advise anyone to do something illegal, but thought it was an interesting bit of info.
Most places it isn't actually illegal to have a cuff key unless you are placed in custody. If you are arrested, you have to tell the cop you have a key right away, or you will get charged if they find it.
Cops tell folks all sorts of behavior is illegal when it is not. Check the law for your jurisdiction.
It’s not illegal to have a cuff key on any state except Florida.
I think the Bill of Rights affirms that it is legal to carry anywhere anytime. Btw....... Unless you are a official government military soldier of some kind then you are a civilian. A cop is also a civilian. A cop has no more rights than anyone else. In fact, it is the rights of the citizen that are extended to the police. We can arrest, we can carry arms and that's why the police can. We do not "take the law into our own hands" as they say. The law is already in our hands. We are Americans. Not serfs.
Specials Ops don't call on Siri, they call on SERE like "SERE how do i escape this room with the ceiling coming down?" 😂
Love it mate.!
Don't call on anyone born post 1990s they will not truly know wat to do hell they don't know if they male or female or even wat race or the difference between nationality n race is or wat bath room to use!!
I'm not sure I'll ever be able to (or ever need to) use this info but i wanted to compliment you on your teaching style in your videos- clear voice and audio, concise, easy to follow along, great camera work, production never hinders the information.
There is another type of hand cuff you see a lot in Europe in the uk there called speed cuffs which don’t have a chain but are solid between each side making them more difficult if not impossible to pick depending on what way the keyhole is and if the double lock active.
I don’t remember seeing these in the US but worth knowing there out there.
You are point on with those solid cuff over here in Blighty and I've seen them in use.
Some police call those cuffs ridgids
Hinge cuffs? I love those!
@@user-kl5zd2oe3e I know the style you’re talking about and there kind of a compromise between the two main styles.
Personally I still prefer the non hinged style
Question. Do you think that after being handcuffed, they would let you keep your swiss army knife?
I had the same thought I’m guessing you need to hide it in your belt line or sock
Good to know for "date night" too! Love your videos Andrew!
😂😂😂
Awesome!! Thanks, Andrew!!
Can't wait for that book Major 🇺🇲💪
Most of us wouldn't be able to do that if our own hands were cuffed😂 but it's still interesting.
Thank you😺
The latter half of this was demonstrated in the Christian Bale movie RESCUE DAWN -- based on the real-life story of Dieter Dengler -- one of the only known American POWs to successfully escape during the Vietnam Conflict.
Been picking locks for years and carrying a SAK and never thought about that or seen that..brilliant!!
Very cool! Anatomy of a cuff new to me. Thanks for the demo!
Let's get this guy over 200k subs he's well over due ✊🏿
Hear, hear.
Thank you very cool! Practice this for sure.
Thanks Andrew. Much appreciated
I know a friend whose been handcuffed before (don't judge me) and this would be very useful.
You're right !! I've never seen anyone talk about this either !! Good info to know !!!
If you believe that you’re gonna do all of that by feel and behind your back you are sadly mistaken. This will require many repetitions to be able to do it. Never mind that more than likely all of your stuff will be taken. So good luck with that. Good that you showed the technique so that if you want you can begin your practice.
That’s great!!! Do it cuffed from behind your back! 😂 Just giving you a hard time. Great basic knowledge to start. 20 year veteran working in Federal Prison at the USP. Any restraint CAN be defeated. I’ve seen convicts get out of restraints with belly chain and black box. The added layers of security and supervision by someone guarding a prisoner make it progressively more difficult but not impossible. Practice Practice Practice until you can defeat the restraints no matter how they’re applied.
Semper Fi!
Yup, Black Box easy.

Nice, hi from Wisconsin.
You gotta watch Felix Himilier. (Last name might be spelled wrong). But he's the guy to watch when it comes time for swiss army knives.
Great Hack! Keep the awesome Ninja stuff coming.
I feel like I'm on a list or something having watched this 😂😂😂. I always carry a SAK, have for decades, I don't have any that don't have the toothpick and tweezers. If I'm in handcuffs I've made SO many bad decisions...
Great video, thanks for sharing, stay safe!!!
Great job and a very important knowledge tool for the mental toolbox!!!! Hope I never get in cuffs but if I do I will try it or I might just dislocate my thumb … lol not!!! Again good vid bro
Thank you for teaching us!
Great vid Andrew! I’ve had a Swiss classic hanging on a titanium ball chain around my neck for years, along with a handcuff key!
Unlawful detention is a thing… always be ready!
Handcuffed and your swiss army knife is in your pocket...
Hopefully the back pocket. Lol
Great video buddy
Always useful. Thanks!
Great video, well laid out and explained.
I was taught this (& paper clip) in MP School in 1986. I have no idea if it’s still taught. It was part of our “learn to search…for real” class there since a healthy sense of paranoia keeps MPs & cops alive. My daughter just selected MP as her branch when she graduates, & I was able to forward this along. Thanks!
Hey Andrew I really enjoy all your videos I've been subscribed with several accounts your knowledge is great to pass on to others. I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do and have done including our country. Thank you for your service sir . Keep up the great work
That is slick my friend. I'll definitely be putting that in my memory bank filed under just in case. Awsome video my friend as always. Thanks and rangers lead the way!
Hi Andrew. Really brilliant. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Good demo
Awesome info!
Superb tutorial/hack. Hats off to you, sir!
Good tutorial Col. I learned how to defeat cuffs 50 plus yrs ago.
When did he get promoted? Andrew was just promoted to Major in the last 2 years.
Jailhouse music , Lol ! Good video
Great video, Andrew! Thank you for sacrificing your SA tweezers for our benefit! All the best...
Peace and blessings to you. Thank you for another great video. Thank you for posting helpful and useful content, thank you. Keep up the great work brother man.
Good job! Saw this done long ago with a bobby pin. Yours was faster!
Excellent video, thanks Andrew.
An excellent kernel of knowledge; thank you!!
Man, I hope I never have to escape from handcuffs, BUT THAT WAS AMAZING! Very simple ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND THE MECHANISM, and you showed that as well! Outstanding video training in these troubled times.
Got love Swiss army knives.
Good to know, thanks, Andrew👌👍
Great video Andrew. I teach Use Of Force and handcuff training. I’ve been in law enforcement for 21 years now. If you’re cuffed in the front you can continuously bang the cuffs multiple times on a hard surface and the inner cuff springs will dis engage. The only thing stopping someone from escaping is direct intense supervision. Great video again. Very impressive knowledge.
Bravo Andrew I have always wanted to know how this was done oh and I had a laugh at your jail house music comment lol good one mate it's always good to add some humor.
Excellent tip Andrew!!
Another great video. I think I learn more from this channel than any other to be honest. Thank you and keep it up!
Andrew your the best. Just watched your battle belt video-outstanding info. Always appreciate it. I hope the wife takes it easy on you for painting the table up lol. Stay safe and stay well
Thanks for sharing. Perhpas come in handy when Marshall Law begins .
There's no-one there to compare with Your channel Sir. Cheers from Poland.🫵🏻
Major Andrew very nice use of a SAK👍🇺🇸
When in doubt....shim out.! We always learn something from your show. Cheers Major from Australia.
Nice. The Foreign Legion knows a similar trick with a toothpick. For a padlock you have the same option if you want to open it. Cut a piece of Coke can and push it into the gap where the latch holds the bracket. Maybe cut the sheet a little diagonally.
What about the s&w cuffs ? I have those...
Try!
That's a "serious" hack by a "serious" man! Have not seen this before!!! I keep a S&W key in my back...just in case!
Brilliant hack 👍🏻💪🏻💯thx Andrew
Good knowledge to have, though this is why, as a corrections officer, I was trained to have the key holes away from the fingers and always cuff behind the back thumbs out. Much harder to defeat via picking.
I AM glad U showed IN detail this way save yourself!
Great demonstration! Swiss Army Knife for the win!
You need to change your channel to "Dancing hands that will save your life " lol All love, followed for years. Just wanted to make a suggestion haha
Outstanding Andrew!
Sew a pocket in the center of your waist band in the back and keep a key and a shim in, also do the front maybe behind the belt in on the inside of the pants opposite side of the loops. And practice doing it when its not a lot at risk and hoping it works.
Smart vid, thanks. Gotta say, I would love more info on your SAKs. I’ve carried a full sized and a classic most of my life.
Thank You Ranger I love tricks of the trade.
Thanks Andrew for sacrificing your tweezers for us!
Good job!
Very instructive!
Dude plays jailhouse music with the shim.
Priceless.
Then I guess that's how you've done on other videos with bobby pins and hair barrets . Cool . Now Imma gonna practice on that with all three for a might .
This is a great tutorial thank you so much, this may come in handy some day you know
