- Chicken and Rice is one of my favorite classic MRE menus. This US Military Meal Ready to Eat was packed back in 1996 but has stood the test of time. They got it right with this vintage field ration, so simple but so good! I'm glad I got to review one in such great shape. I definitely think it would be worth bringing back, or at least something similar.

Im binge watching all your videos like i did when i found Steve. Well made, well spoken and a good sense of humour here and there. I will ask, how much can you buy your own US rations for? They cost around 20/35 USD here in the UK off ebay. Menu 1 chilli with beans for example.
Trick i learned to make frh work is to add the salt packet to it helps it get hot

The slightly wet because you licked it pinky finger to try the white creamer powder was great.

It is such a pleasant surprise when you get a fresh ration when everything is perfect. A literal time capsule. Thee are some meals that they need to return. My favorite was old pork patty from 1984. Everyone hated it but I figured a way to heat and reconstitute it and it was real tasty.
these ration reviews are so cool. it seems like magic that food can last like 30 years and still be edible somehow
The taped mre box indicates it was opened for inspection. Very rare to encounter this. I've only seen two in 25+ years of consuming MREs.

OMG! This and tuna and noodles! The two best MREs that disappeared at the same time
Is it just me or does anyone else feel an odd satisfaction when opening an MRE bag, it's like opening a Christmas present, except with a chance of diarrhea.
I've never gotten diarrhea from an MRE.
