- Time for the first major modification to my 2019 Mini JCW Clubman...new wheels and tyres.
There is a lot to consider when changing or upgrading your wheels and tyres. Size, offset, wheel spacing, PCD, ET numbers, tyre fitment, TMPS to name but a few. In this video I explain some of the basics but I would always suggest working with a specialist that knows your type of car.

Totally agree, and if your going to change the wheels then why spec the optional wheels only to replace them.
Plus although they new wheels are nice, i hate all black wheels.

I am not a fan of the 19 inch factory wheels, the 18's look better. Finding aftermarket was a challenge for me for the F54 JCW and I ended up custom ordering 3-piece wheels to clear the BBK.
Those OZ wheels are awesome though I must admit when I saw them on I was liking the originals slightly more. Would be nice to see a mock up of white and red alloys on your clubman to compare. Great vid as usual

It'd be great if Lohen had an app/website whereby they load in a pic of the car, like the mini configurator which shows the model you've chosen with your extras on including wheels and you can turn the car to see it from different angles, and then be able to 'virtually' add each type of wheel to the car. My priority for my mini, 'The black panther' is to change the tyres from whatever was on at purchase. I'm not bothered about changing my wheels tho.
Nice to see someone actually explain the wheel sizes/options. This was useful. There is a lot of choice but it is a massive cost to change all wheels, tyres, valves etc.

Agree on tyre choice but not the wheels.. never been a fan of these types ... think it cheapens the look of the car... just my opinion.. great informative video though and love all the other lockdown mods you’ve done!

Good choice !. My son fitted those exact wheels to his old Saab 9000 a few weeks back. They do look good. Very light too !.
When I had my 330d Coupé it had runflats on. I changed them to non run flat Michelins and it made a world of difference. The ride became super smooth. I also purchased some "gunk in a can" if ever I had a flat though, thankfully, I never used it.
I have to admit that your new wheels do look really smart. The black and red go really well. And to think I thought you might have gotten white wheels ;-))...

I bought Oz racing superleggera a few years ago for my Westfield Seight.. They were 15" and only 4.9kg each. Massive benefit with regards unsprung weight. Also the look great. Another great video, very informative, thanks for creating and sharing.

I know this is a channel with honest views , but the originals for me , I personally think all black wheels look to small on any Mini because of the black wheel arches , they tend to lose them selves . If you get what I mean , the originals look bigger being two colours . Please don’t shoot me down 🙈

A flatter black looks better than a gloss black as the contrast is better to show detail.

Great Video, wheels look fantastic. It is probably worth mentioning the need to also check your spigot bore when choosing new or different wheels, many don't realise this. If they are smaller obviously they won't fit on to the hubs, but if they are too larger bore the wheel won't be held concentionally. This will put addiction load and stress on the studs/wheel bolts and maybe failure☹
I'm sure this is something Lohen would check and be aware of, for sure, but something others buying aftermarket wheels may overlook👍

At first I thought... Oh noooo not black wheels. Then the centre caps went on and I thought, that's bloody spot on. I'd suggest a slight drop on suspension. Don't slam it.

Nice ones Ped! Was looking at the same for my Mini F57 JCW Convertible. Now i'm convinced i need to get them too! I put some lowering springs on myself last month, made a huge difference in look and its hardly any stiffer, just a tad, which i actually prefer. Still comfy. I used Cobra's, real nice quality and only 140 euro's for the set.

I believe I enjoy your videos so much because you take such absolute joy in your car. It is refreshing as well while still providing a bit of useful information. So if you have a second, do let me know whether you would get the summer or all weather tires if you were ordering a new mini clubman S with manual transmission. Both are run flats as that was the only two options available on the other side of the pond. I did go for the largest size option. (While I wait I am looking at a second set for the remainder of the year and thus happened upon your videos, to which I am now a subscriber....of course NoW I shall look at wheels and tires so you have cost me a bit!)

Tyre choice would depend on your climate and driving. For most people there wouldn’t be much difference between them unless your climate gets really cold. All seasons will work much better below 8 degree C. The best thing you can do is ditch the run flats, get a can of emergency foam and buy some Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or 4S tyres. They are superb 👌

Of course you can adjust the offset with spacers as well. Something I have done previously when putting second hand alloys on a different manufacturers vehicle. That is a much cheaper option than buying off the shelf bespoke wheels, although care is needed.

Nice rims! Lowering indeed, but please do not only springs but go for a good coilover set, preferable adjustable. It gives more options to specify your preferred setting. Also springs give more stress on the factory damper, which can cause leakage afterall.

Depends how many speed bumps you have to negotiate where you live I suppose we have loads of bumps around here so would be inadvisable to lower I feel.

I've read and watched a few people trying to explain rim sizes and offset! This one I actually understood! FINALLY! Thanks! As you mentioned... you need to lower it, maybe explain the difference between lowering springs and coilers?

Everyone commenting that it will have to be lowered now may not realize that the suspension needs to settle back in properly after being on the lift. That will happen naturally with just a couple minutes out on the road and truly the difference will be substantial. As for the wheel/tire choice here a huge 👍👍 from me and I am ultra particular on wheel preference. Those new wheels suit the Clubman perfectly! I will add that you'll now want to make extra sure to use a tire finish (I use VRP) to keep em as clean/black as possible or the deep gloss black of the wheels will always overpower and make the tires look brown/gray. Personally I love the 19 inch wheels that come stock but these black multi-spokes are an excellent choice for aftermarket. I saw the title of the video and was worried you were gonna go and mount some really weird looking wheels but I fully approve of these. 😁 Nicely done.
