Ironically, competing for mobs, even if it's a negative, is one of the only immersive things the game has lol. Great video, subscribed. I wish the devs see this video, you should make a Reddit post.
I think it should not be viewed as a "MMORPG", but more like a "Idle RPG" with an online world. I consider it mainly like a 2nd screen "chill out" and "zone out" game whilst watching television, with the potential of having more MMO feature later on. The "clunkiness" is - imho - on purpose, they obviously position this game as a very chill/idle RPG.
I gotta disagree with most of this tbh. I love the game and am very immersed. It's early access and really well done. Curious to see what combat becomes. I'm excited for more to release and am loving the whole game
@LynxDev-IO fair point. I was more alluding to how RSC was rough. But good groundwork. I played rsc when it was still hosted. Nothin in it I would enjoy compared to rs2. Was neat historical stroll tho. Would major overhauls be needed for brighter shores? Yes. Could they happen in this era of internet? Probably not. Rs was given the keys to be a dominate lifeform it used them well until 2010. There just isnt the gaming void to allow a weird underdog to grow anymore.
yeah the hit system seems similar to classic rs like back in 2000's where u hit the enemy 3 times before you were allowed to flee and because there was no run system u were basicly f...ed if u fought a wizard but the fishing makes semi sense because the shark fishing spot is in the same spot as big net spot or something
1. this game would feel much better without the weird instancing system separating places 2. I thought we would have three classes, not just 3 types of damage. 3. This game's combat looks like I'm playing an oversimplified turn-based ARPG. 4. There's no right-click, which makes it soooo difficult to take items under npcs. --- Btw, thanks for the video, @FishyWizard5, because I won't spend time nor money on this game (which I was betting high on) :s
Tbh 9 hours isnt enough to review the game. The fundamental flaw of the game design peak around 30 hours in when u fully explore most of the profession and realize, there's no depth to any of it. U will notice it's a reskin of the same activity with a mindless goal...
Yeah I don't get why the Gowers made Runescape, sold Runescape and then decided they wanted to make another Runescape... I could understand if it was like a remake of Classic or an older version, but we have RS3 and OSRS so idk about that. This game just seems to be targeted at the high score grinders who go for the highest levels within the least amount of time. Prolly why they released early access and so many people will buy the membership so they can figure out the most optimal grinds before full release lol.
Large progression ? No, it's literally copy and paste the same stuff after lvl 50 you're making the same stuff. You are also fighting the same 12 mobs till lvl 500.
I agree with your points but not with your delivery of those points. Consider writing a simple script for your videos (these can be bullet points, or full on scripts. Whatever you're comfortable with) to help organize your thoughts. Sometimes you come off into a ramble.
I appreciate the feedback! I recorded this video after a 9 hour stream, and wanted to get it out ASAP, so I apologize if I communicated things unclearly. My future reviews and guides for the game should be more coherent!

Only 9 minutes in atm but you've communicated really well the issues with the game. Liked.

My short time on it, It feels like RSC, heart, but archaic basic interface and input. A future perhaps, but not a draw at the start.
imo it's not like RSC neither OSRS... it's a weird kinda of game... i honestly did not enjoy it :s the fun aint comin!

The fact anyone would expect someone that hit it once to make a great game after is beyond me

Looking forward to what's next.
Who's your pfp?
@ADstoic Rem from How Not To Summon A Demon Lord.
It's alright.
Tough luck unless they create new game with original and new genre. Maybe roblox kids will like this though.
