+John Gardner I had reoccurring dreams that i was stuck in a zombie apocalypse with a group and did normal apocalypse stuff like scavenge and kill zombies, though i was often running from them. The final one i remember was very weird, first it was like the others where i was fighting off zombies, but what was different is that there was an entire horde right on top of my group, so we ended up running but i was in the back holding them off and became a happy meal for the zombies, but it didn't end there... i became a zombie and had no problem that i was one, i also had no issues attacking the remaining survivors that i was originally with, after i had started tearing into one my mind was ripped from the moving corpse and into a living one relaxing on a pool chair playing my previous dreams as if they were games, and that was the end of it.

I am SO psyched for this. Basically I love experiencing dreams and I'm always disappointed when I can't remember them. This would be awesome.
I once dreamed the world was ending. The sky transformed into what looked like purple cotton candy and the ground shook really hard. Then these purple whirlwinds were swallowing humans then blasting them in air. Some guy was holding my hand ~I didn't know who he was, but apparently I really cared for him~ and then he was taken away. It was horrific, that feeling. Like my limbs were being ripped apart from me and then set on fire. When one of the whirlwinds came to me, I asked stupidly, "Am I going to die?" I was surprised when a voice replied no. Then the whirlwind swallowed me and, inside of it, it felt like the sensation of floating in water and my whole body being warmed. The whirlwind blasted me out towards the purple cotton candy. When I was out there it felt like there was no gravity. I started running and a road appeared. The feeling was joyous. I jumped and ran faster than I ever had. I let out a whoop of joy, but it sounded weird. Then my surroundings were changing. Going blacker. Then there was no noise and I couldn't feel myself ~if that makes sense~ then I was floating. Floating endlessly.
Anyways..
I thought the dream was real. It was so vivid that when I woke up, I ran outside to see if the sky was the familiar purple cotton candy. Lols, I know.
It was a cool "experience." Except, when it got all black and stuff. ._.
That "guy" was a spirit or "entity" that pretty much follows you around and helps you out (i mean if you believe in that stuff..i do...i have an entity)

I'd kill for a machine that can bring your full dreams to digital video format but I'd fear that by the time this machine comes out it won't be able to pull past dreams up so all of those awesome dreams from the past would be gone forever.

I remember my dreams as clearly as I remember moments from early childhood. I know what happened, I know what the people looked like and said, I remember everything to their voices, yet in another memory. They fit together yet I don't remember them 100% together. I remember my dreams clearly enough that they resemble real life, although with the physics engine of a bad video game. I have even dreamt creatures up and later drew them on paper. The dreams I have look better than what caused them.
you could record peoples thoughts that have alzheimer's in thier family and prepare to re live your thoughts to better help remember your life. that and the old music brings up memories could really do some cool things to studies .

when dream/memory recorders become a reality ill use it every day! i write my dreams down in a book i have almost 100 dreams in high detail since i was 4 years old. im now in my 20's. i know the brain some how remember every thing. so i hope one day google brain becomes a reality!
my dream was my old crush when i was grade school, i kept having dream of my crush would save me from the distaster, becoming my boyfriend, husband, ex husband, killer, stranger guy, etc always fall in love with me. I don't wanna believe those because of dream but i do hope they're real. because i think i still have left feelings for him... i havet seen him for 15 years after we got separate different school. i dont know how does he looks like now... i wish I could tell him how i feel......... shit i miss him terribly...
I saw this on House MD a couple of years ago. The images in the TV show pretty much looked like the ones shown here. Pretty cool technology.
I thought it was because at the last instance of being awake ALL of your muscle relax. Your brain then, because of the stress you mentioned, picks this up (the extra stress makes the brain more aware or something) and tells all your muscles to tighten and re-stabilize yourself.
Being able to record your own dreams would be SO. COOL. But there's another way how to remember certain stuff you dreamed and the settings, people etc. involved. Keeping a dream diary and reading stuff over again some time later. At least I can then vividly remember what happened... and stuff :D
Dreams are so nice. Recording dreams is even nicer. However, can you imagine what kind of thing would actually make people remember?

I’m looking more forward to dream audio in realistic surround sound. Seems it would be easier and probably requires a lot less bandwidth for processing than visual imagery. How about complete sensory reconstruction and transmission to relive the experience?
It sounds more like it's surface thoughts, like you'd have to actively be thinking about something you already remember or are imagining for it to get any reading.
I have this weird dream where I’m running around on mud then I slip on it. I feel a thump in my stomach and my head and jolt up after I make an impact to the ground, after it happens I can’t fall back to sleep until another hour
I find it kind of sad that humans have created smartphones, computers but still cannot create a dream recording gadget..

My brain is a weird thing if left to its own devices...
I may be wrong but I've heard it's to do with sleep paralysis. Your body goes through a few stages when you fall unconcious.Sometimes it forgets to do the first few steps.
It's so messed up, I'll scare the shit out of myself just from thinking I'm falling, I'll literally gasp and wake up instantly.
As far as i know it's your heart slowing down so greatly that your brain thinks you are dying, so it wakes you up immediately with a small amount of adrenaline i don't know if that is correct or not but i learned it from a science teacher of mine

your muscles begin to slack and go into a restful state just as you are falling asleep.your brain senses these relaxation signals and misinterprets them, thinking you are falling down. The brain then sends signals to the muscles in your arms and legs in an attempt to jerk you back upright. This misinterpretation that takes place in your brain may also be responsible for the “falling” dreams that come with the falling sensation.
A dream recorder could help people have lucid dreams. I hope we advance in this tech quickly.

The feeling of falling out of bed is because your heart rate down and your brain interprets this as the death of the body and sends an impulse to revive you.
Hey, while we're on the topic of dreams, you you should explain why people get a falling sensation sometimes before they go to sleep.
I think I might see one of the problems holding back the accuracy of the image decryption...the algorithm they used for learning, I think the subjects were given too many images of people for it to work with, making it recognize people, less exposure to other things.
Like, for example, 1:47 is conceivably a person standing in a field. I think the computer was given too many samples of human figures to learn from, also explaining why it recognizes them more easily
Can we record the Lucid dreams or benjavu memories, or prophetic dreams, or the dreams of claiming to incarnated?
What about night terrors? I had one when I was little and on a medicine, needless to say I stopped taking that medicine ASAP. But still, what happens to the brain during a night terror? I know that people who have night terrors often act like they're awake, they're eyes are open, the scream and run around, but are still asleep and cannot be woken up by anyone. And when they finally wake up on their own, they don't remember anything. What could be so horrifying that the brain literally wipes it from the conscious mind but still causes those sleep-induced reactions?
Do you remember what medicine it was? I want to research it now.

I once had a dream that an alien I saw in a movie that night was chasing me and my whole class and we could hide from him by standing still because when we weren't moving he thought we were cucumbers. And than suddenly all of my clothes disappeared.

If I could record my thoughts, I'd go into one of these silence-rooms to record all the music I hear when I fall asleep. Some nights it comes with whole orchestras or a cappella.
Btw: Most people can remember what they dreamed just after waking up. So if you don't let the dream dwindle by thinking "What do I have to do today?!" but take a few minutes to write it down, you will learn to remember your dreams. They tell you surprisingly much about yourself if you listen. Some are just weird though

Can your brain make people older? I mean like I had a dream the other night that I went back to my old school after I moved to another one, but I left it a year and a half ago and I saw a friend and he looked older and I don't remember him like that so please answer my question.
Not sure if we'll get through this idea in which we expect. The computers will just manage the data and try to output the source in a way we can hopefully understand. The imagery just may never be enough.

What happens is you doze off into the hypnagogic state. This is a state where your body falls asleep, but your conscious brain remains awake. Using this you can enter what is called a wake-induced lucid dream (or WILD).
Or, if you're sitting on your couch trying to fight sleep to watch those last 10 minutes of Mad Men, your brain will notice your posture, and think "I'm relaxed but not asleep. I must be falling!", which is where it freaks out and jolts all your muscles, waking you up.
If I'm too obsessive about a certain thing I've been wanting for a long time like a new phone, I'll dream about getting it and it's kind of weird. Then actually get one later on

Once my friend and I had the exact smae drem, we said all of it at the same time to eachother, but we figured to keep it to our selfs even though we(or at least I) remember it perfectly. Explain this please.

That's when all the muscles in your body relax at once from what I've heard.
Technology can achieve a lot but how would these recorders ever be able to see new creations and outworldly happenings and things, new words? They will also not be able to record smells, deeper thoughts you have during your dreams, reflections you have on what is happening, feelings in general. They will forever be limited. Dreams are not.
This type of technology with our "common sense" should be impossible, it's still early give it at least 15 - 20 years.

I think dreams are confidential. Everything would be used for a dark use just like drones, that's our nature.

I would love to record my own dreams. I actually tried one time to teach myself to lucid dream. And for that, I had to write down what my dream was about if I had one the moment I woke up. It's a part of the steps. I didn't continue it due to forgetfulness in the mornings so.... yeah.

i draw , and because its not possible to really happen i think about my characters in "episodes" moving talking doing stuff. and somtimes like today i have dreams about those episodes. so if i could record my dreams i would make a little anime c: with some of my dream episodes, and ask people what they think about my anime :D

Also, what I really want to know about my dreams is why I will have dreams (during naps or at night) where I am literally dreaming that I'm doing exactly what I would be doing if I was awake. Such as sitting on the train that I'm currently taking a nap on. Or I'll have a dream that I'm sleeping on the train that I am currently taking a nap on.

Me and my boy were debating on whether or not recording dreams into video is ethical and would it even be interesting. he basically said it was unethical and he had no interest in other peoples dreams. i completely disagree with him in every way. i think its cool if you have knowledge of the recordings and i would even spend money to watch other peoples dreams.. might learn something new or trigger new brain connections and paths in my own mind. idk what do u guys think ?

If I could review my dreams, I'd probably become a writer. I have several worlds inside my head, but I can really only fully remember them when I'm dreaming, and then I'll picked up where I last left off or change things in the past if I want to. Well, I'd write about that when I wasn't rewatching dreams about my fears.
I feel that my dreams would be drug trips. I've been in a Star Wars mood lately so the images would probably should a lot of Darth Vader and other characters.

Solid good dream recorders will probably not come out to common public use until I am about 70 & at that point I will just be pissed off that I didn't have that option when I was younger & had some INSANE fuckin dreams I never got to record.
