I appreciate your raw honesty. And yes, the trophy is that we get to experience life completely and have a chance that we didn't have while drinking. Alcohol use is a life and death matter for some of us. 6 months and onward. Thanks for the videos, Ron; your honesty and insights are helping people.

@SoundMindADV thank you very much! It certainly was a matter of life and death to this alcoholic. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. ODAAT!

Congratulations on the sobriety milestone. Good video, Ron. Glad you are feeling better. Your chip ought to be yer trophy.

One thing I've liked is "don't let the hard days win." I have been guilty of letting them win. Fuck, I've relapsed probably 10 times now since coming into the program. I have 4 days for probably the 10th time. But i desperately want sobriety. I got a sponsor yesterday which is something I haven't had since July. I have to be willing to do the work and the trophy is not holing up in my bedroom on really ugly benders for days on end. Not losing my keys to my pickup in a blackout and explaining to my boss why i cant get to work. Not going through withdrawals after binging in a relapse. The trophy is getting to experience life's ups and downs with a sober mind. Experiencing feelings instead of literally bottling them up. Thanks for the videos. Thats enough out of me.

@wild_idaho4666 yeah man. I've forgotten where I've parked my car and have had to call friends to help me find it. I've banged out of work because I was literally too sick to even get out of bed. I've been there my friend. I get it. But we don't have to do that if we don't want to anymore. Just takes some work. Thanks for watching! ODAAT!

Congratulations on your six month sobriety! It's just like you say, your reward is to be alive, that's the best reward anyone can get. Hallucinations of all kinds are terrible, in my case i could go with my dog, in the way of "he'd react when there is really something" and that calmed always down a little bit. He reacts very quickly as a guard dog when anyone comes to my property, so i can be sure there's nothing when he remains silent.

@jackwarren5883 Thank you! Where I am now as opposed to six months ago is nothing short of incredible. I love dogs. I should get one. Big dogs anyways, not like my exwifes chihuahua. Thanks for watching and thanks for the support!

@@Disappointingyourdemons Thanks! Glad you made it. Got a sivas kangal dog myself, but maybe, that's a little bit over the top, it's the strongest breed on earth, needs a lot of space, training and walks. Had german shepherds and other dogs like tunisian desert dogs before. The shepherds like a german- or belgian-shepherd are always a good choice.

I don’t think they should give kids trophies 🏆 for every little thing. It has really become ridiculous and it’s very misleading for them. Maybe it’s just a way to encourage them though but life isn’t that way.

@CMoore8539 I think it gives them false expectations. That through minimal effort and little talent they are good at everything. Not that I'm going to be winning any dad of the year awards any time soon though so take what I say with a grain of salt lol.
