I've never understood the obsession with the dashboard materials... Do people go around caressing their dashboards on a daily basis? Who cares if it is hard?!

Boy... It's 2020 and little did you know your toilet paper comment would become needed for some people. XD 13:35

The lift gate button on the fob just unlocks the lift gate, nothing else. You can have all the doors locked and press the button and just have it unlock the gate.

13:37... you can fit "a year supply of toilet paper"...anyone watching this in 2020 would find this statement eerily predictive lmao

One thing I really hate about CRV that they didn’t have side mirror lights for even the high EX-L trim
That could have looked so good

On 2015-2016 they didn’t have side mirror lights at all

I just bought a 2015 Cr-V Ex-L and LOVE it! I traded in my 2009 LX Cr-V and am amazed at the difference in feel, drive, turning capacity, and comfort. Obviously - basic model to Ex-L would be different/better. But I'm very please with most everything. You pointed out about the power hatch that does not work on my key fob. That was one of the reasons why I wanted to see if it was part of my package. Guess not! But you showed some things that I didn't know - the driver seat thigh adjustment, the console moves forward and back which I didn't know. thank YOU!

I know exactly what you mean at 15:50 when you say the engine doesn't feel direct when you accelerate. Our 2013 Accord with the 4 cylinder and CVT is almost the same way, in that it feels disconnected from the car. I think it has to do with the fact that they basically use speakers to produce artificial engine sound...that and the drive by wire system. Also when you're trying to drive the car spiritedly you can definitely feel the rubber band type of acceleration with the CVT. You punch the gas and you have to wait 3-4 seconds for the revs to go up and the power to kick in, but by that point you're greeted with almost too much power and it lurches you back.
Although in some ways it's good because when you're going 50-60 mph without realizing, it tells you that the car is very compliant and sure-footed. I still love the feel of Honda's, regardless of the CVT.

Easily one of the very best TH-cam vehicle reviews I have seen ! Good balance and coverage of features, spot on & common sense commentary. This really assisted me in my own assessment of the '15 CRV EX-L model. Great work :-)

    Great review/overview.
I just bought one exactly like this one you showed here 3 weeks ago. It is replacing my 2012 CRV. I am happy to report that (I guess) Honda must have straighten out the vibration problem because mine does not vibrate at all.
When I bought the car I knew about the new Earth Dream engine & that they put a different transmission in the car. But I was surprised to learn Honda stuck a CVT transmission in there. I The CVT was something I thought I'd never want in a car but this engine AND CVT transmission honestly work together beautifully. In fact they work much better then the transmission in my 2012 CRV.
    Here is an example:
My 2012 CRV was the most annoying thing to drive in Econ mode, I hated the shift points and the constant shifting and loss of power on off the line starts (in Econ mode), so I always had Econ OFF. and I never used Econ all the time I had the car. But this 2015 Honda is TOTALLY IMPROVED. If you actually have to drive one I am sure you'll agree. As good as the previous CRV's were, Honda did a very good job of refining everything on this car down to every detail.
I my case, I climb a 3,500 ft grade almost ever day, and unlike my 2012 CRV that struggled to find the right gear, my new 2015 CRV, finds the sweet spot in the gearing and it take me over the top with plenty of power and no struggles, and even if the CVT transmission resets the gearing, it is totally unnoticeable unless you look at the tack and you can see it readjusted the gear ratio - smoothly and unnoticeably. So I'm loving it, and I have no complaints at all about this new CRV refresh (except I kinda miss my right arm rest my 2012 CRV had, but I'm getting uses the using the center council as my arm rest on the new car. Since Honda had to redesign the council to run heater/AC ducts through it to the back seat, I am OK with the trade off). But it is still very comfortable and enjoyable to drive. So in my opinion and experience as a former owner of a 2012 CRV (that was a wonderful car overall), this car is in everyday an improvement over the previous CRV.
One more thing important thing. 2015 CRV owners are going to love having nice bright headlights in your CRV for a change. The headlights in the previous CRV's were just awful. I am glad Honda finally put decent headlights in the CRV.

Thanks for sharing! I’m looking to buy one and am curious, how’s everything maintenance wise? I’m nervous about everything breaking with the new engine + transmission. Also how many miles do u have on it if u don’t mind telling?

I wish Honda could share this Lane Watch system with all other manufacturers. Subaru's Forester is still at the top of my list, maybe just below or tied with the Ford Escape.

No mention of the notorious vibration problem in this review - an inexcusable omission. It's all over the internet, but not in "reviews" that have a relationship with dealers.

I still don't like the back end of this car. They've got something going with the front facia, but those horizontal tail lights along with the bulbous stance makes it look really kinda weird and outdated. I have the same complaint with Volvo designs...almost reminds me of a chevy lumina van. I hope when they redesign this car they can make the back end look something like the new Pilot or the HR-V.
