Wow. An end of an era. As a random viewer of yours for the past several years, this is like saying good bye to a close friend. I loved seeing all your videos with this car. Maybe in the future, one of your kids will buy a BRZ and the family will be complete. Ha ha. Here's to Topher Jr growing up with excellent taste in cars!
@Barbwire710 as a car enthusiast and a father, I can say babies bring fulfilment in a different way. Babies aren't a hobby. No car enthusiasts would say no mess like that
I legit just got my VIN number and port date for my 24 BRZ today…. Feels like it’s a passing of the torch moment. Thank you for convincing me to get one!
Totally understand and it’s the one car of your collection that’s worth selling at this point. As a fellow Michigan native I really wanted a new BRZ/86 but bought a 2023 WRX VB as it was more practical and AWD which helps in the snow. My fun car is a 700whp 6MT Camaro so I wanted AWD as a daily driver. These new BRZ are such fun drivers cars for the $, but won’t hold the value that your type r & s2000 will in the long run. Always appreciate your content keep up the great work
i saw someone buy a 2013 version for 13,000 with 120,000 miles on it. theyre holding value pretty well. theres quite a few 2013 versions with 40k or lower miles selling for 20,000
@@itakenaps Tough to make that call in the current market, that's been in a bubble ever since Covid. The entire used car market has been way overpriced. That being said, Subaru's usually do hold their value better than other brands but still..
What a bitter sweet moment. Your videos with your BRZ is probably the single biggest contributor to why I bought one myself. A 24 WRB BRZ. My first manual too, again thanks to your videos. Thank you! Here’s to your growing family! An S2000 in the garage should definitely soften the loss a bit.
Like so many viewers here, I'm so thankful you've shared your ownership journey with us. You convinced me to get this car. 1 year and 12k miles in and I'm so happy.
Wow, end of an era. Sorry to see it go, but at least you still have the S2K. I still have mine, but have been kicking around the idea of an M2 or a 6MT Supra, among other cars. I just like being debt free for now I guess.
I bought my BRZ in 2014, and it has been an incredible daily driver. It has been a blast, and yet quite affordable to maintain. I saved up more than enough to pay for a new car outright, and I was obsessed with the idea of an M2... until I drove one, and I was incredibly disappointed. It was clearly a very capable car, and didn't feel as heavy as it was, but it notably lacked a lot of engagement, and the car didn't really feel like it was made for the manual to me. It's really difficult to move on from the BRZ, its an amazing daily, and quite practical for what it is.
Your original 2022 BRZ reviews are what introduced me to the car and sold me on picking one up - I ended up wanting something more practical and selling it for a VB WRX, which was also heavily influenced by your review. Needless to say, I'll miss the BRZ topher era.
I went to a GR86 from a 2020 performance pack BRZ and man I think about that car every day. I love my GR86 but I truly miss my BRZ, it just had some special sauce I don't quite get in the 2nd gen, which I think you refer to in an older video of yours when you drove both back-to-back at a press event. I'm nitpicking, but if you are on the fence down the road I would totally recommend that, plus you can find ones with the Brembos super easily and the infotainment from the 2020 is literally the best I've ever used. Hope to see you in another BRZ in the future!
Congratulations on the new family member and vehicles! Sounds like it's time for a new chapter without the BRZ. I just picked up my GR86 Trueno and am loving it. 😄
When I saw the title in the morning, my inner self shouted "Nooo!", but calmed down when I heard the possibility of getting a ND3 Miata in the future. I'm a CX-3 owner and I admit I'm drooling over the 2024 refresh of the ND2, but I don't have the cash to get a new car. So long BRZ.. All the best on your family, take care!
I was afraid this video would be coming after seeing the Ranger Raptor appear out of nowhere! But I'm looking forward to seeing what truck things the Ranger can do! Amazing quality videos as always!
Sad to see it go but I'm so happy for all the praise you've given this car to let everyone know how great these are. I bought mine around the same time as you as my daily and I plan to have it for 20-30 years.
I have always loved watching your BRZ videos, so it will be sad to see it go. I’m happy for you and congrats on the new addition to the family! I always enjoy your content and can’t wait to see what’s in store next. I bet the next person to own it is going to love it!
Congratulations on your growing family ! I’ve been following your channel for awhile now, funny enough specifically for your BRZ videos and now I’ve become a full time viewer. I’ve recently only gotten into cars and the idea of becoming an enthusiast, and your BRZ videos are the driving force for that. I’ve spent countless hours rewatching your BRZ videos because I knew one day I was going to buy one and start my car enthusiast journey. I’m just waiting on my Subaru VIP program eligibility to kick in and I’m going to be ordering my 2024 BRZ next month. Thank you Topher for all the great videos surrounding this platform. Now let’s see that Ranger Raptor in action !!
Long time viewer, but first time commenting (I think lol) Your gen1 and gen2 BRZ vids were a big part of my decision to get my own gen2. And it was a great decision! I've been loving my car, easily my favorite that I've owned. To be honest, I'm sadder than I thought I would be hearing that you're selling yours lol. But I kinda figured it was coming too, given the growing family and the rest of your garage. I mean, if one's gotta go, the BRZ makes the most sense. And congrats on the baby!
Your videos inspired me to get my BRZ and I really still want to lift it and do some rally cross. Grats on the family. Looking forward to what's to come.
Congrats on having another child! I enjoyed learning about the BRZ and all the mods you did to improve and rally the car. I came close to buying one on a couple occasions but I ended up purchasing a used GR Corolla.
Sad to see it go but not too surprising given all your recent acquisitions haha. Thank you for all the ownership content you've made with this car as I"m actually on the fence about buying one myself. Really appreciate your insight
Congrats on your growing family! As a fellow BRZ/GR86 from Michigan, i resonate with this because I'm selling my 2023 GR86 soon. Used it as my only car for nearly 2 years. Your BRZ content helped me make my mind up on getting into this platform. Such fun cars, perfect as an only car for a single person. I now have an ND3 on the way, and since we have my partner's Civic, the GR86 isn't needed for practical only-car duties!
You took this in an interesting direction and as a 2022 owner I appreciate it. It was your original BRZ content that put this car on my radar. Like you, I still enjoy looking at this car and love it as my daily.
Sad to see the BRZ go, I love these cars; your original reviews of the 2nd Gen GR86 inspired me to get mine in 2023. Best of luck in the future though!
Was in a similar situation as you car-wise a few years ago with a '13 FR-S and an '01 S2000. Having both the BRZ and S2000 doesn't make sense, especially considering you have a Type R, Raptor, and baby on the way! I always felt the S2000 was a more special driving experience than the FR-S. Congrats on the growing family! :)
Congratulations on the baby! You still have a great lineup of cars anyways. It still feels like this gen just came out since I don’t see much on the road
Congrats on the mini me! Being a dad is great, my little guy is 16 months but he’s already shown some interest in cars. One of his first words was “car.” Task failed successfully. 🤣 I’ve owned a 2014 FIST, 2015 BRZ, 19 SS 1LE, 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road, and now a 2020 ND2 Club Recaro/bbs pack soft top The Miata is by far my favorite car overall. With a GWR SSST exhaust, sound tube mod (gives an awesome induction sound), lowering springs, front subframe braces, and an alignment and it’s an absolute blast to daily. Pretty minor mods but it transforms the car. Stock car is a bit bland and way too much body roll. But man is it great with a few parts…. The 1LE was the best car and is a riot…but it’s way too much car for the street and the running costs are brutal for a daily driver. I do miss it though…Fun single man’s car with no responsibilities lol. The Miata is the first car I’ve owned I want to keep forever. I find excuses to drive it, even on a bad day it still brings a smile. It’s pretty guilt free to own, people don’t hate you for giving it the beans, it gets great fuel economy even when flogging it and the running costs are low. And most importantly…you can drive it hard and row some gears without worrying about handcuffs. I’m not much of a “cruiser” and even that is enjoyable if the weather is nice. It has some drawbacks for sure, it’s really noisy top up on the highway but I just wear ear plugs. Transmissions tend to be fragile as well. Overall though, it’s a future classic for sure. It’s basically a modern S2000. Not as visceral, but a better all rounder. The ND3 seems like the best version of an already amazing car. I’d trade up if I was in the position to without hesitation. If you find yourself in AZ holler, we’ve got some great Miata worthy roads 🤙
This is great seeing other people’s cars. I sold my 2013 BRZ at the start of the year. Kind of regret it. Collecting my 2016 Audi RS3 in the next 2 weeks. I was looking at an Elantra N (i30 sedan N in Australia) but the Audi came up with factory warranty and free servicing. Looking forward to your next cars.
Those wheels appear to be identical to the wheels on my '17 BRZ with Performance Pack. (Performance pack was only available on the Limited, and was a bargain at $ 1200 for the wheels, which are maybe half an inch wider than standard, Brembo brakes, and SACHS dampers.) Congratulations on the pending addition to the family! Enjoy them, because one day you will look back and it will be a blur.
Bummed to hear you're parting with the brz platform again. But it's definitely an understandable reason to do so; congrats on the growth of your family! I've always appreciated your modification list in the video description. I've been using your old 2013 brz modifications, and this one as a baseline for how to modify my own 2020 BRZ while trying to find my own happy medium between track and daily duty.
I ended up selling 22' BRZ for the same reasons and ended up making 1k on it after owning it for a year. I got a 2022 Nissan Frontier pro4x. Don't regret it at all. I had fun with the car while I had but I love the truck even more.
@@dakotaagran6964 EverydayDriver, Zygrene, Savagegeese, Jubbal. They probably saw a drop in views on the car so they're on to the next hype car. At least Topher's got a better reason to let go of it.

Thank you so much for the videos. Started watching with the gr86 press release and fell in love with the car. You’re part of the reason why I bought one. Became my first big boy purchase and have loved your videos since. Congrats and can’t wait to see what’s next. Also when’s the next stream?
@@JasonISF Once my 86 is supercharged, I may sell the Corolla. Don’t care for it all that much like I thought I would. In my opinion the 86 is a better car in every regard. By the way, Im way more of a Muscle car guy, and I even like It more than my Modified C5 Corvette.
@@camarogoskrrrt3534 interesting, I used to own a gen 1 BRZ but now looking at a GR Yaris. I know the Corolla is heavier but essentially the same car, drivetrain wise. I haven't had a chance to test drive the GRY yet, but hope I'm not disappointed given the BRZ was such a fun car, despite its lack of power.
@@JasonISF I just like sports cars, and out of all the ones I have driven, the 86 is the best to live with. I bought the Corolla out of sheer need for something with backseats. It snows very much here during the Winter months, and I used my 86 all winter long no problems. Had a blast of a time snow drifting it everyday. My concern was other drivers, so I also wanted AWD. Everyone and their mother has a WRX here, there is one at every traffic light. So I refused to buy one. That left me with one choice. I do like the Corolla, I just don’t feel attached to it like my 86. Im keeping the 86 as long as we are able to drive internal combustion cars on the road.
Short term totally makes sense to sell it. And congrats on your growing family. But if one of your kids becomes a sports car lover and there's nothing like this produced in 15 years (or 5 years) you may have some 'splaining to do someday. Imagine if granddad had sold a new Hemi Cuda two years after he bought it. Dad would be crying for years.
Have good taste in a car and also watches (talking about the last video with speedy!) what else you can ask for?! Good luck and congrats again with the newborn!
Thanks for taking us on a (possible) final drive with this bad boy. Yeah, with the CTR and the S2000 in your stable, this one did seem (somewhat) unnecessary. Congrats again on the new baby, and maybe (down the line) you sell the CTR and S2000 for 718 GTS V6. 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks again!
If you ever have the itch to drive another BRZ, I have a Track/Autocross prepped 2023 BRZ also here in Michigan, you're welcome to drive it anytime for a video or otherwise!
Congratulations on the new baby! Too bad you had to swap this with a Ford Ranger. This reminds me of another youtuber, Matt Moran, who had to sell his BRZ a long time ago.
Congrats on growing your family! Your videos were a big reason why I decided to get a BRZ! Does anyone happen to know what the side mirror attachments he uses or have any recommendations for some? I don't see them listed in the description but would like to upgrade my visibility a bit. And thanks again Topher for all your BRZ videos and wishing you the best with your family!
I looked at a few comments right as the video started and saw the baby comments, and as soon as you got to reason number 1 for selling the car I honestly thought you were going to say "I'm about to take delivery of a brand new, 2024 Topher Jr." I think I need to ramp back watching car review videos a bit.
❤😂😢😮😅😊😊 congratulations on the baby at the end of the month and you’ll Be happy with your raptor cause I talk to someone about his and he loves it. It’s one hell of a mean truck congratulations and take care. Have a good day. Have a good week and hope you sell the Subaru.
Had a 2020 BRZ, though I've driven manuals all my life, was always difficult to drive smoothly, clutch and accelerator always seemed a little off. Tried the Mtec spring, no spring, helped somewhat, but still tricky. Then went to a WRX VB, problem solved, shifts smooth, plus four wheel drive for northern nevada occasional bad weather. Interesting to see the new BRZ seems to have the same shifting issues.
Gratz on the new baby and the raptor @TheTopher would you recommend the BRZ or GR86 as a daily driver to a dad of 2? Keeping in mind that my wife owns a 2024 Honda Pilot and i need the car to drive to and from work with the rare occasion that I will have one of the kids in the car and with a rarer occasion that I'll have both kids in it (maybe taking them to school once in a while)
topher, because of you Ive learned how to drive manual and picked myself up a 2023 brz sport tech manual! I can’t thank you enough for putting me on to such an amazing car🫡
it was really hard for me to decide between the gr86/brz and the gr corolla. ultimately went with the corolla because i like the 4 door practicality but man i sure do get jealous watching the 86/brz
Appreciated all your videos- but especially your insight & build of this 2nd Gen BRZ! My new daily and only car will be a 24 BRZ tS (awaiting its delivery ) I’m finally moving on from my original owner 15 Civic Si … last year for the NA Si and only available with a 6sp manual like the tS! One question… when did you do your first oil filter change? Thanks again & Look forward to your next Honda videos!
I did a test drive of a GR86 today (couldn’t find a BRZ). I about ate pavement getting out of it 😅. Is there a trick to getting in and out of these without half killing yourself? Also, the turn signal not clicking into place is really weird. Does it get better over time?
S2000, Type R and Ford Ranger Raptor, a garage I would envy. Congrats and all the best on the family.

@@dakotaagran6964 EverydayDriver, Zygrene, Savagegeese, Jubbal. They probably saw a drop in views on the car so they're on to the next hype car. At least Topher's got a better reason to let go of it.
Because Car TH-camrs get more engagement on videos by switching up their cars often vs keeping a same car for long periods. Gears and Gasoline literally just posted a video about this.
They can’t hold your views forever with the same car
sometimes you just have to let some stuff go, but congrats on your new child!
Thank you so much for the videos. Started watching with the gr86 press release and fell in love with the car. You’re part of the reason why I bought one. Became my first big boy purchase and have loved your videos since. Congrats and can’t wait to see what’s next. Also when’s the next stream?
I have the GR Corolla and the GR86. The 86 is by far my favorite car Ive ever owned. So much FUN.
GR86 more fun than an AWD turbo triple??
Garage space, the final frontier!
5:51 "Replaced with Red Wine" graaaaape
Your videos are the reason I fell for this car! Still waiting to get mine lol
*checks bank account*
I thought you would get an WRX VB
Stunning from every angle.
how do you get your modifications and oil changes done? yourself or through a shop?
A sad day, but excited to see what the future holds!
Nooooo! will miss the excellent BRZ content :(
I bought this car because of you
Sad news but i wish you all the best
hmmmm i was trying to buy a miata from carvana but they screwed my over and I got a refund. I also happen to live in detroit.
10:35 “as a solo dad dude thing” lmao
Had a 2020 BRZ, though I've driven manuals all my life, was always difficult to drive smoothly, clutch and accelerator always seemed a little off. Tried the Mtec spring, no spring, helped somewhat, but still tricky. Then went to a WRX VB, problem solved, shifts smooth, plus four wheel drive for northern nevada occasional bad weather. Interesting to see the new BRZ seems to have the same shifting issues.
You're WHAT? I loved those wheels you had on it... I'll go back to that time you drifted it all over that dirt track to reminisce.
Same!
Congrats on your son!
Gratz on the new baby and the raptor
@TheTopher would you recommend the BRZ or GR86 as a daily driver to a dad of 2?
Keeping in mind that my wife owns a 2024 Honda Pilot and i need the car to drive to and from work with the rare occasion that I will have one of the kids in the car and with a rarer occasion that I'll have both kids in it (maybe taking them to school once in a while)
I read the comments before the video started and I thought he was about to say, “I just took delivery of my 2024 son” 😂
Def makes sense to drop 1 of 3 small sporty cars for a fun utilitarian 4x4 small off-roader
topher, because of you Ive learned how to drive manual and picked myself up a 2023 brz sport tech manual! I can’t thank you enough for putting me on to such an amazing car🫡
Congrats man. Will have to sell my ND miata myself with a baby on the way
For similar reasons as you, I am thinking of selling mine and purchasing a GR Corolla. Makes me sad because its such a great car.
which wireless carplay adaptor are you using?
Perfect mods for me. If I wasn't on the east coast of Canada I'd be interested.
it was really hard for me to decide between the gr86/brz and the gr corolla. ultimately went with the corolla because i like the 4 door practicality but man i sure do get jealous watching the 86/brz
One thing I'd like to do is have a rwd enthusiast car. I'm so used to fwd. Only draw back for me on the brz is it's so low.
did you ever have any CEL issues with the UEL header?
Appreciated all your videos- but especially your insight & build of this 2nd Gen BRZ! My new daily and only car will be a 24 BRZ tS (awaiting its delivery ) I’m finally moving on from my original owner 15 Civic Si … last year for the NA Si and only available with a 6sp manual like the tS!
One question… when did you do your first oil filter change?
Thanks again & Look forward to your next Honda videos!
Congrats! I usually do my first oil change around 1000 miles, but could even go earlier, around 500.
Congrats on baby number !
Sad to see the Subaru go😢
Crazy now that Mt bikes have 27 & 29in wheels... You definitely need a way to transport them if you have a smaller vehicle.
Congratulations on the new baby Chris. Waiting to see your new Raptor
ya paging for storage no good. gotta make this move
Do you have a link to the wireless Apple car play device you have? I have a 2020 wrx and not sure which one to get
Gave up a Mazdaspeed3 for my growing family. Don’t be surprised when you find yourself driving a van….It is just life and priorities change.
I know the feeling gave up my beloved gen 1 BRZ for a Camry hybrid haha
But my son's safety is more important.
Had a feeling this was coming. Congrats and good luck.
I too have another minion on the way and am having to rethink my own "toy" car.
ND3 Miata and S2000 seems like too much overlap, unless you want to use the lower-cost S2000 as a more extreme use case.
this and 86 are the best cars, if you dont have children and drive daily and sometimes on track, right ?
Youre definitely gonna love the gas hog that the raptor is. Doesnt a baby car seat fit on the gr86?
you're a legend topher
I did a test drive of a GR86 today (couldn’t find a BRZ). I about ate pavement getting out of it 😅. Is there a trick to getting in and out of these without half killing yourself? Also, the turn signal not clicking into place is really weird. Does it get better over time?
