(4/6/23) Thank you from a very beginning Knitter. I've been practicing on the C2C dishcloth, but I think I’m ready for this scarf. (I’m coming from Crochet, so I do hold my yarn Continental style.) You have a pleasant voice and clear instruction. I will look for more of your videos. 🌻🧶
So beautiful, I'm making a scarf now following your video.. the edges are great and I decided to use them in every scarf I make. the instructions are so clear too ❤ Thank you so much
Excellent video. Pattern works up fast. I’m using this pattern for a dishcloth. It’s thick and cushy with lots of texture. I will add it to my faves list. Thank you for sharing! :)
Made this except these stitches did not come out the same S your own. I watched you many times yet not the same results as your own stitches. This is very beautiful thank you for sharing.
I've loved this pattern for years. If you use variegated yarn it frequently pools and is great for making square or rectangular motifs to join together later for an afghan.
Thank you for this tutorial! 😻 I love this pattern and now i can do it with confidence! And I'm making a scarf for my bestie using this pattern, hope he'll like it ❤️ thank you ❤️
very good video and commentary very clear and easy to understand one thing that caught my attention was your translation of KTBL and would also apply to KTFL ...there is only 1 loop and the loop is comprised of 2 legs which straddle the needle making the loop ...which allows us to knit though the front leg ...a regular knit stitch ...KBLT ...knit through back leg which produces a twisted stitch as in this pattern or KTFB ...knit through front leg and the back leg which produces an increase of one stitch ...thank you for your demonstration and post I hope my loop and leg information helps you as your video did me ;-)
I was wondering the same thing since I like doing scarf and hat sets too. I don't know if you ever found your answer, but I did by watching another tuber, So Woolly. She demonstrates both english and continental and explains it's a 2 row repeat. I use different coloured markers to know which row I have to knit. Hope that helps.
I found this pattern on Revelry. It is a nice-looking scarf. I would like to make this scarf. If I'm making for a teen male, how many stitches should I cast on? I would like it to wrap around the neck one and have a little drape (if that makes sense.) Thanks!
“Not knit through the back loop,” (incorrect as this implies there is a front and back loop), but “knit through the back OF THE loop” because there is only one loop. My apologies, but the knitter/narrator is not a native speaker of English and does not understand the above use of English. I hope this helps everyone. Thank you!
Geez. Every knitting book, every video, and every pattern I’ve seen since I’ve been knitting references this stitch as “knit through the back loop” (ktbl). It’s standard knitting shorthand and has nothing to do with anyone’s English skills (Shame on you! And no, pointing this out was not helpful). She demonstrated it beautifully. Of course it’s not proper grammar, it’s shorthand and I’m pretty sure she didn’t invent it. Lighten up. It’s knitting.

Thank you for explaining the knit through the back and the abbreviation. I'm new and I need the slow step by step. Your a great teacher 👍
I make a scarf and it's a beautiful pattern! Very easy to knit. Thank you for the great instructions!
Excellent demo and camera work. Clearly shown technique. Kudos to you Stephanie.
Love how you show how some mistakes can be made by an inexperienced knitter when first trying out this pattern. This was very kind. Bye
Lovely pattern 🙌
I’ve been making these scarves for years.
It’s a Stephanie Pearl-McPhee pattern.

Very beautiful. I think I'll knit a blanket using this stitch. Very nice and clear tutorial. Thanks
I am knitting my third scarf already. Thank you! Thank you, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee!

What do you mean by saying variegated yarns pool? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Thank you for this tutorial! 😻 I love this pattern and now i can do it with confidence! And I'm making a scarf for my bestie using this pattern, hope he'll like it ❤️ thank you ❤️

Very interesting stitch. Thanks.
How do you start it from the bottom after your cast on? Do you start working in patten as the first row?
How do I knit this in a round?
I tried but think I'm making the mistake all the time but couldn't figure it out

You don’t explain how to do it on the opposite side, cuz when I do this stitch it’s not matching

Stephanie how many stitches have you cast on for this scarf x
Ya, I was wondering the same thing. Great video btw!!
She has cast on 28. At the beginning she says to cast on multiples of 4+2+2. That gives her 28 stitches.
At :40 you can listen to her say how many to cast on. Hope that helps. 😊
Please two ways
I can not knit!
try, it's really easy . Use the tutoriels on youtube, bet in no time you'll be enjoying this lovely activity !
Beautiful
