Every teacher I had wrote "she's not living up to her potential" on every report card from first through 6th grade. This was back in the days when teachers actually hand wrote report cards. And, I'm guessing, that phrase was part of every parent teacher conference. And, to top it off, my father was a teacher in the school district. The pressure was overwhelming.
