    Nice video. It’s worth noting that the 6.7 has two cooling systems with two radiators with two overflow tanks. This is why you have two drains. The small tank is for the small radiator up front and the big tank is for the primary radiator located closest to the fan.

    @Andrew thanks for a full video guiding all the way through! I have been doing a lot of research online on tips and tricks on what to do to make life better throughout the process.
    Just curious when you deleted the egr cooler did you have to install any additional sensors to bypass the codes or anything? Or did you go straight to your tuner to bypass all the safety protocol codes and what not?
    The main worry I have currently that I have yet to get an unclear answer towards is after deleting the egr cooler and the exhaust, will the tuner bypass the limp mode deal that the truck goes into when you run it low/out of def.
    Thanks again brother I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Cheers

    • @andrewhaynes09
      @andrewhaynes09  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Cox
      Thanks for the comment! I did not have to buy any additional sensors or anything when deleting the EGR cooler or DPF system. The Patriot Diagnostics nDash tuner that I purchased, along with every tuner available for these trucks, shouldn’t throw any codes. You should never get the “Speed limited to 50 MPH” or “DEF Fluid Range 500 Miles” warnings after installing the tuner. The tuner will turn off these warnings.
      Most good tuners have parameters (sometimes user adjustable) that will reduce power if your exhaust gas temperature, fuel rail pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, etc. exceed certain levels. This acts as a safeguard to prevent any catastrophic failures and would put the truck into “limp mode” until temperatures or pressures are back within a safe range.

      I have had the truck deleted for a couple months and about 6,000 miles - no check engine lights so far. The Patriot Diagnostics tuner is great - and they just came out with an update to do on screen tuning (engine and transmission) that I will be reviewing after I get some more wheel time and after I post the review with the previous software version.

    Hey bro hopefully you can reply, a couple of days ago my friend gave me test drive in his 6.7 Cummins deleted and fist thing I noticed was that diesel soot smell. I wanted to delete my truck but I hate the smell, I was wondering does the 6.7 powerstroke have a strong smell and is tolerable. What I would like to know is does the smell bother you. To me it smelled like at school when I was taking the school bus home and there was a line of buses the smell there wasn’t that bad.

    • @andrewhaynes09
      @andrewhaynes09  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sif Artorious A guy I work with has a deleted 6.7 Cummins and they both smell the same at idle - like a school bus. You don’t really notice it other than that. I like the smell, personally.

    • @adamjones8218
      @adamjones8218 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what the recirculate button is for on the A/C controls- for other people on the road, they'll smell it at a stoplight for sure if they don't have their recirc turned on. Also if you are still getting smell inside the cab you may have a small leak in the exhaust, either at the firewall side downpipe connection or off the bottom connection of the downpipe which can be reached (tight fit) from under the cab, passenger side. Torque those nuts down well and ensure everything is aligned properly. It depends on what type of exhaust delete you do on where the issue could be.

    I have a 2017 Ford 250 Power stroke and I planned on deleting the DPF and straight piping the truck and putting this tune on it, but is that all I have to do? Or do I have to do something to the EGR as well??

    • @andrewhaynes09
      @andrewhaynes09  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rich Waffle
      There are a couple of options when dealing with the EGR:
      1. Remove the EGR completely as shown in this video
      2. Buy a block off kit that will stop exhaust gasses circulating through the disabled EGR, but keep the EGR installed on the engine.
      I wouldn’t recommend keeping the EGR on without using block off plates. The exhaust gasses that circulate through the EGR could cause the EGR valve to stick in the open position and exhaust gasses would make their way into your intake manifold. Block off plates are around $100 and far easier to install than the kit in this video. Here is a link to an example of what you would need
