  • This particular truck is a 2013 f250. This video does not describe the entirety of the delete process, it touches on what other videos lack and makes the delete process smoother and easier for my fellow deleters. Have fun guys.

    I did my 17 F350 6.7 dually a little different. I left the cooler on and welded a plug in the 2 pipes to block them off. The dpf I gutted and run ran a straight pipe inside and reinstalled. It is deleted but still LOOKS 👀Factory. Which helps when the 5.0 is inspecting your truck. As long as they see dpf they don't look any further. I travel a lot with my 5th wheel rv and some states will check if it is deleted. I call them my sneaky pipes 😂😂
    Oh yeah. Great video 👍💯

      I probably should have done a video when I did it. I could do one now but all you are going to see 👀 is a STOCK Truck. You can not tell visually that anything has been done. The DPF I removed the heatsheilds. Cut in half. Cleaned it out. Measured and installed pipe and welded it back together. Reinstalled heatsheilds. Installed delete tuner. Runs like a beast and no smoke.

It’s a project for me so I’m taking my time w this one. But it hasn’t been hard. Pretty straight forward. Just those two manifold bolts I’m cautious of.

    Great tips! That Pyro sensor will not work back in the block off plate. The stock pyro will show sporadic readings with most tuners like H&S, hence the reason most people use one from the DPF. Also, some block plates will not fit the DPF sensors properly in that the threads are not long enough to seal the sensor completely to the bottom of the EGR plate threads. I found using some small brass washers to shim up the Pyro probe works perfect. I may just do a video on this so that it make a little more sense as to what the hell I am talking about.

    1.) Firstly, i would like to know the position and structure and shape of the EGR bypass valve how does it look like.
    2.) Secondly, when the EGR bypass valve is closed, then the exhasut gas is bypassed directly in to the manifold. my question is when it is bypassed, then is it possible that some amount of the gas slips through the gaps around bypass valve or slips in the cooler? Or does the gas goes back?

      Unless you do the delete yourself, your looking at $1000 of labor charges on top of the parts. But most offroad or custom shops will have the best kits available. Those can run upwards of $500. You can get complete knock off kits on Amazon or eBay for less then $200, which work, but needs checking every couple of years. Buying the right tuner is important, minimax has a good preloaded tune for $800, so does SCT. But look forward to spending upwards of $700 on a good tuner. Don’t buy a cheap tuner, you will regret it. Also, good tuners are getting harder to find thanks to the new emissions laws.

    they will have all the bugs figured out? I'm getting a current year
    model but I'm still back and forth whether to get it deleted and how
    soon... Many suggested to run the 5 year warranty first or at least 3
    years but Idk if using the truck for that long is gonna gunk up the
    engine and cause premature wear and tear. On the other flip of coin,
    dunno how reliable tunes are with the newer models and if they are truly
    bulletproof or problems are ought to happen as there's no way to
    bulletproof those stock engines once they have been tampered with.
    Thanks!

    • @TorchedTv
      @TorchedTv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think they’ve figured out how to reburn the carbon without clogging the dpf and egr. With that said it’s always a good idea to delete, I mean, you could have no issues with a non delete for up to 200,000 miles. But for the most part, a delete exponentially increase the life of you truck and helps with power outputs. You can get 650-1200 horses on a properly tuned and deleted 6.7 truck. But if all you’re doing is towing, then just minimize your idle time, and open her up more often, and you might not need to do any deletes…the faults most powerstoke have is when they sit at idle too long. But if you want the power…I’d do the deletes right away.

    • @firratblitzcki7734
      @firratblitzcki7734 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TorchedTv Thanks man for getting back.
      My sole purpose for doing the delete is not performance nor power increase. I'm considering it for the longevity of my engine and better overall maintenance of the truck as it no longer needs to recirculate any exhaust gases let alone doing unnecessary regen cycles whenever it needs to, etc... Better fuel mileage and unrestricted power boost is a bonus I won't turn away either.
      My only concern is if I got the delete done the proper way thru a professional that really knows what they are doing, am I still taking a risk on deleting emissions as far as the operation of truck being "modified" vs "stock" or it will run a 100% like stock minus a few hundreds of pound of dead weight? There's more to it than delete and tune. If calibrations aren't properly taken into consideration the compression ratios aren't changed, the temperatures aren't dropped, and the engine timing isn't altered then I maybe better off keep my emissions.
      You hear and read a lot of reviews about people running into issues caused by deletes even when it was done proper as those trucks specially the newer ones are designed and engineered to run with emissions and the moment you mess with them, they will cause issues whether that is momentarily or down the road. I reached out to a few local mechanics and they all said they have seen the good, bad, and the ugly, deleted trucks may cause issues and fail at higher altitudes so I'm kinda stuck in a rut here so I'd ask you as someone who's been there and has a better sense of knowledge of this transition even tho yours is relatively an older model year. Sorry for the long write-up but I think we have all gone thru this phase of due diligence . Thanks again!

      If you can’t do it all in one crack then the first place to start is to buy a good tuner. Cheaper tuners are getting harder to come by because of new emission standards. Make sure it’s a dpf delete tuner, you can tell it’s for a diesel dpf delete because it will cost more then $600. But SCT still sells a decent tuner for these trucks, it can cost up $800-$1000 depending on the preloaded tunes. My truck used the mini max. It cost me $700. But I’m not sure if they still sell them. Next you can straight pipe your truck and unplug the throttle sensor and egr; I’d go 4” or wider diameter on the exhaust. That way you can start getting some real power to the wheels. Lastly, you should delete the egr!

    Hi, I have done everything on my 2014 Ford and now I have a code saying Engine IDLED see manual, I can’t figure it out. You know if I’m able to fix it somehow?

      Liliana Perez when you say everything, do you mean you deleted the truck? Also, how long have you ran the truck deleted with-ought a tuner? It sounds like the tuner you bought doesn’t work worth the delete on your truck.

      @@TorchedTv I used a SCT X4 tuner, I removed the DPF and the EGR but drove it before to see how it sounded before using the SCT x4 tuner and now that’s happening you think may be because I drove it before tuning it?

      We installed an SCT 4 on my brothers powerstroke with his delete, it works like a charm. My truck has a mini max, also good. Your trucks computer is trying to communicate with the dpf. But it obviously can’t because it’s been removed. Three different things could be the cause. 1. Your tuner doesn’t have the right tune to support a delete (most common) I suggest calling SCT and making sure they loaded the powerstroke delete tune, a tuner with a delete tune will usually cost more the $600, don’t fall for those tuners that are cheaper then that, they usually don’t have the right program for a delete. 2. One of your sensor wires arent plugged in, there are two, large, main O2 sensors, that plugged into your dpf: yes, remove them from the dpf but the wiring and the sensor in its entirety need to remain plugged into the sensor harness box. The wiring can be wrapped up and stashed anywhere under the body of the truck. 3. There is wiring damage on one of those two larger O2 sensor wires.

      Liliana Perez and no, driving it a little withought the tune will not harm the truck, as long as you didn’t go over the regen limit. Which the computer usually tells you “REDUCED POWER”. But these trucks usually allow 50-100miles of driving with the warning lamp on. As long as you tuned it before the miles hit 0.

    WD 40 means water displacement 40 weight. Does practically nothing to help remove rusted bolts.
