    Sharing my experience with deleting the EGR. The actual removal wasn't bad at all honestly. Only took about 2 hours. The EGR long tube bolts on the other hand were absolute hell. I WISH THAT ON NO ONE. Soak them and do whatever you can to prevent it from happening cause it will suck. This may seem like a daunting task but be confident you got this.

    *IMPORTANT STEPS*
    1.) : Remove your DPF system and unplug all DPF sensors. Install your straight pipe or hollow your DPF system out
    2.): Without starting the truck, plug in/install your tuner and follow the prompts to DELETE DPF SYSTEM. Make sure you do not start your truck until the tuning is complete. Once tuned you can start the truck, but its recommended to remove the EGR to prevent possible leaks.
    3.): Disconnect battery. Ensure all EGR plugs are unplugged. Here are the plug locations : www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1302848-egr-delete-kit-or-just-unplug.html
    4.): Continue with removing the EGR as shown in the video*

    Thanks for the info, I’m taking off the EGR because the valve covers are leaking due to clogged DPF and stock CCV. Deleted both, tuned EGR is staying.

    They make different length 3/8" extensions, you don't have to piece together three 3" extensions, just get a 10" one.

    What about that cooling line off the secondary system reservoir? Do you have to cap that tank off after you disconnect the line running to the EGR cooler?

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be no capping of the reservoir. There is a replacement hose that comes with the kit to hook to the lower radiator port

    Question. Have a 6.7 with dpf already deleted as well, It also came with the sct tuner. Do I need a tune for the the egr specifically. Or, if the tune deletes the dpf will it delete the egr as well? Hope that made sense. I can hear the egr valve operating so I know its currently working.

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 3 plugs to fully deactivate the EGR system. You’ll have to look up a video to show those. The tuner should deactivate it along with the DPF. Every tuner is alittle different.

    • @Poor_ManTruck

      Watch the 5-7min part of the clip. You should have a piece in your kit to reroute those lines. One gets eliminated the other is spliced.

    So you were DPF deleted before you were EGR deleted? So essentially you had it tuned shut? And later decided you wanted to Remove the EGR? How did that affect your tuning? Meaning did you have to get new tunes etc already? I’m in the same boat, I am tuned shut right now and have been wondering what to do.. thanks!

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir, tore out the DPF first thing that morning. Then plugged in the tuner and installed the DPF delete tune. I didn't use any custom tunes, just the ones built into my tuner. Follow all the prompts the tuner tells you. Once that part was complete I then removed the rest of the EGR system. I didn't change any tunes after the EGR. Started it up and was on my way.

  • @awsomeman62

    If your truck was already deleted did you have to do anything special after you pulled it off? I assume since the egr is unplugged it wouldn’t need anything further since all you are doing is block off plates and coolant lines

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I deleted the exhaust first and installed the straight pipe. Then tuned the truck. After tuning went on to the EGR removal in this video. Once everything is removed and new parts installed it’s good to go. Just make sure your tune is complete and you’ll be golden.

    My two bolts also snapped on my pipe going down into the engine how did you drill your two out?

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A pain staking hours of tap and dye set. If you have any exposed threads try and spin it out. If you don’t just drill them out and thread in a new hole. There’s no good way to do it.
      I believe they make a kit now to repair those bolts but it’s expensive.

    How do you get the plug/switch on the back of the EGR off? Im stuck there!

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s a bracket back there. Sometimes you have to get a wrench or socket back there to loosen it alittle and then you can prop it out. It takes alittle wiggling and force to get it out. If yours is a newer generation it may be more difficult.

  • @gt40f
    @gt40f 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just a heads up. Save all of these parts that you take off. If you ever sell the truck to a person living in a emissions inspection area all these parts will need to go back on the truck. Also if you were to have it inspected in an emissions area and these parts were missing the EPA could put a national hold on the registration, so you couldn't get plates/registration until you put everything back.

    I know this video is almost a year old now, but do you have to do anything special when refilling your coolant? Something to not cause possible bubbles?

    • @Poor_ManTruck
      @Poor_ManTruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you fill the radiator and squeeze the line to allow the air bubbles to exit. There should still be coolant left in the system.

    • @gt40f
      @gt40f 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      they make special dump can funnels that attach and seal at the radiator cap, then you just fill the funnel and gravity does the bleeding, but sometimes there are bleed screws, not sure on this engine. Always run it and then check after a couple heat cycles to see if the coolant level has dropped.

    This is *only for* 11-14, not 15-16. The coolant hoses are not the same at all. I got 5 mins into following this just to find out that none of those hoses connect to the same locations on the EGR. And I didn't even need to go behind the headlight to remove that hose as there are drain plugs underneath the radiators. Now I'm going to have a huge issue reconnecting the hose.
