nice video! how do u make it so on the red line (timer on how long u are in the vid) say whats happening? for exampel: drive, 0-100 and everything else? i am looking to buy a 1999 golf gti, got any tips on what to check? or ask when last was changed
Love this car i have 2002 too almost same specs, same rims, same engine, same colour and 5 doors, the differences are headlights mine are non xenon, and the colour of the seats mines are grey/black, and even the dent on the rear left rim arch is kinda similiar hahah
Still a timeless design after so many years, and good thing that we still see plenty of them on the streets in many countries. It might not have the best chassis but VW nailed the style and the brilliant 1.8t engine. But if you had to choose, would you pick this Golf or the Audi A3 from the same era?
@@MrAndreCoutinho I really like your comments Andre, good one again. That chassis can be improved with interesting results if you do it properly. I really like the A3, and also Leon but the Golf MK4 has some special to me.
@@testdrivehero Thank you! I really like the videos, especially the dynamic tests. I’m considering buying one of these classics soon, I like the Audi but it’s mostly just the badge, while the golf is a true classic, I love its style, here in Brazil it was a very desirable car, even by the thieves, insurance was very expensive by then.
This was my very first car but in black. Was fun to drive, the sound is awesome, but the engine could have been stronger. Also, I had repairs every 3 months. (>180.000 km though)
@@marten6578 A few things I still remember were the clutch, exhaust, brake discs, control arm, lambda sensor, battery, and the starter. But there was a lot of other small stuff, and sometimes, as I was driving off the workshop yard, I could already hear the next noise... But I never had issues with the engine itself.
I love this model ❤since my youngest age I always dreamed of having one. I was born in 2000 and when I was 6 years old I always told my mother that I would buy one. Except that now I have an Opel Corsa 💕1.4 100 ps in automatic (resound of health. And I also love it enormously. I am an Opel fan with GM. Is your car the Volkswagen golf? I'm almost sure.☺️🇩🇪
Hahahaha you almost got me! It was, now is from a friend of mine and I'm proud he's taking care of that Golf :) He fell in love with it and he have no doubt to bought it. Still today I'm looking every time my friend's gone with the car. Fortunately I still see the car every month!

Still looks so good so many years after...
The IV gen is unforgettable!
And those engines were brilliant and reliable!
you deserve a lot more views than other driving POVs! Absolutely great editing and lots of aspects covered.
Please do Volvo sometime!
Thank you so much!
Yes, a Volvo will be very interesting to test!
Maravilloso coche, con líneas que al día de hoy siguen cautivando al verlo pasar. Sigue así son tremendo tus videos.

With a good chronometer!
Nothing special, same as any normal car with petrol turbo engine.
They are quite reliable

What caused the delay between axles ?
@@fanyang2553 Many things, rear axle setup, chassis length even tyre size can be a factor.

Wow normally are very reliable.
I really like how aged.
What issues did you have? With the engine or something else? I'd love a VR5 or even VR6 if possible, not sure about turbo models.

@@facopse strange, I had the same problems with older Opels, the engine was soild but everything around it chose to die by itself.
