Hi Steven, A stellar & great year for movies, “E.T” is the perfect heart warming family movie to be watched by all, had the pleasure of watching as a kid in the cinema, one of Spielberg’s greatest. Now a lot of these great movies I watched a few years later in the vhs video rental days, “First Blood” “Rocky 3” “Conan the Barbarian” & “48 hrs” & despite being a flop at the box office “The Thing” I instantly loved. Although I didn’t witness these movies on the big screen the video store rental days allowed us to watch these movies at our own leisure so it was the dawn of new era of home entertainment 😎 1982 a superb year for movie classics.
Hi Carlos, thanks so much for your comment mate. It's very interesting that you mention the VHS and video rental days here, because I'm currently working on a similar series to this but focused on my own personal favourite tapes that I would rent time again from my local video shop. Keep your eyes peeled for it coming soon...
For most people around the world Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior was also a 1982 movie. It was released in Australia on 24 December 1981 but everywhere else it was released in 1982.
👌🏼Liking the videos mate keep em coming! A little known film you probably haven’t seen, is the based on true, Night crossing with John hurt & Jane Alexander watch it first then read into it. much better that way! Also the 1974 list you did recently, Black Christmas is another cool shout defo an underrated heart racing early horror/thriller. If you haven’t seen I would recommend. But yeah the thing blade runner conan, poltergeist are all cool films annie class like, Night crossing may not be a classic but the fact that it ACTUALLY happened is crazy worth a seperate video for sure deserves recognition. Keep em comin tho enjoy watching 👌🏼🍿🎥
Thanks so much, that’s very much appreciated 🙏 I haven’t seen night crossing but sounds very interesting, I’ll get it on the watch list 🙌 You’re right, black Christmas is a great shout, totally missed that one! 🙈 really grateful for your support, much more on the way! Take care 👏🎥
I love all the 80s for films. My favourite 15 for 82 are: 15 The Thing 14 Poltergeist 13 The Dorm That Dripped Blood 12 Blood Link 11 Basket Case 10 Bells 9 The Incubus 8 Alone In The Dark 7 Class Of 1984 6 Slumber Party Massacre 5 Star Trek 2: The Wrath Of Khan 4 Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch 3 Visiting Hours 2 Death Wish 2 1 48 Hours
Great review mate. Seen Blade Runner on the cinema in 82. Loved it! The voice over edition is still my favourite version, even though most people hate it. Firefox is another Eastwood classic which is still one of my fave's of his. Tron is yet another classic. Also released was Porky's! Although, I had to hire that on VHS. The Verdict had to be Newman's best. Horror clasic The Evil Dead was released too :)
Wow you’re right I totally missed off evil dead! 🙈💀 haha like I said, with some of the great years you could go on and on… just thinking now I didn’t mention, dark crystal, fast times at ridgemont, Gandhi and diner… 🤷🏻♂️😂 I’ve never actually seen Porky’s to be honest… Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I’m always very grateful. Take care 🙌🎥
Not biased but what a great year 1982 was. ET and The Thing the same year maybe why my parents said i came from another planet sometimes lol. Really enjoy these vids mate look forward to the next one 👍🏻🎥
