Josh Conn yes that British people, we could be trapped in a burning building and still worry that you might miss X factor.
Clarkson's car/boat would have won it easily, if it was driven by somebody other than Clarkson himself..
You mean the Toyboata? :3
it would have worked if he had of had a smaller motor
CME Gordy no.. it was working perfectly until he kept full throttle while the boat/car was leaning forward nose-in-water, he should've throttled down one second and everything would be fine.
if he had of had a smaller motor he would not have had as much weight in the back which would have raised his level in the water keeping the water out during his turn and yes your thoughts on this matter are also correct
Well as Hammond pointed out, it had only one major problem...
“i’d insisted on only 1 engine”
Earlier
“I WANT 2”
That’s the joke...
Shane Fell are you talking about yourself
I think it was more like the guy selling it only insisting on one lol.
Actually ... Jeremy's concept is the best one, BUT the insistence on "getting the biggest motor possible" is what makes it terrible. He could have gotten two motors with more power combined OR should have gone for the "water pump -> Jetski" propulsion system ... which would have made the concept MID-ENGINED.
Now imagine replacing the car-engine with electric motors and the "generator" being behind the driver on the open area ... and then using the same generator to power electric pumps sucking in water and ejecting it again ... and possibly some "retractable" hydrofoils/fins at the front ... and you have a decent concept for such a car.
"Is that your car?"
"Yes?"
"It's the wrong way up..."
"Dont' give me technicalities"
The much loved Clarkson vs May event banter, and possibly one of their best and funniest unscripted segments. Thankyou Top Gear.
Thought so, a rev counter! You decadent capitalist pig.
Yeah ...
Ownership of a rev coutner is THEFT!
To quote another funny exchange :D
From the "did the Russian's ever make a good car" segment. Another classic.
Amfibiebil
STAG162
Unscripted? look at the rope in front of his van at 2:59 pulling it as he plays it off his motor is starting to move him.
RISE TOYBOTA!!
Toybota is love
Toybota is life
It's coming over the side!
Relax!
Toyota has to make a toybota now
Toyboata
"Sailing is really boring"
A few years later... ANNOUNCING A NEW SERIES SEAMEN!!
It was just that special wasn't it? Not the whole series
In 'Seamen' they are not sailing, they are boating
@@goranslunjski6982 Boating hard, may I add
Your not sailing without sail
Knowing James, he'll choose boring over sinking. To be fair he's the only one who stayed dry in this challenge
Captain slow sure made a name for himself there
So true
Slow and steady wins the race
6:06 I love Jeremy's moment of realization as the truck starts to tip
"Richard..."
" *RICHARD* "
The way the music stops makes it even funnier lol
Hammond's laugh while they're going down always gets me. That and May's final comment on sailing. Just golden. 👌🏼
As Clarkson’s Toybota swerved and started to sink, you can hear the cameraman muffling his own laugh
Do you have a Timestamp? I can't figure out when
I can’t hear it over Hammond’s cackling.

What to do in a sinking ship ask the person next to u "coffee or tea?"
+M Zilla Tea.
Tea.
Have you got any biscuits to, jammy dodgers be nice.
Coffee
Truly the gentleman's way of sinking
I love how their vehicles are always so indicative of their onscreen personalities
(Clarkson & Hammond contemplating the overturned Toyota Hilux at 6:55)
Hammond: "Well, it was a good idea! It had only one major flaw..."
(Hammond points at Clarkson)
Clarkson: "What?!"
Priceless!
Looks like they need some flex tape
Focco Duinstra somebody had to say it
Idk tho... That's alotta damge
Lmao
Аctually it could help
Or F#$% tape!
7:03 Jeremy's voice hasn't gone that high pitched since he was 6 years old.
His voice broke again
3:36
that little squeal from Hammond 😂
Used van for sale. Slight water damage.
David Bergara González I’ll give ya 50 for the spares.
Craigslist like
"recently washed"
Do you think the same happened to the truck after getting it the right side up?
I would buy it
Richard survived two titanic sinking experiences 😂😂
Bob Pasty and at least two car accidents were he should be dead.
The unscripted days were the best
no, top gear was pretty much always scripted; it was the way that it was scripted that was the best!
It's always been scripted
You got it mixed up with Grand Tour
Its always been scripted
@@Tom-uv7ry They did have way more free dialog back in the golden days.
That Toyota had the potential to be the first all-terrain vehicle but, Jeremy had to flip it.
British engineering in a nutshell
@Helios Sphere well without British engineering we'd all still be peasants ploughing feilds for the aristocracy but OK
@Helios Sphere The greatest ships ever afloat were British and the most iconic aircraft. The fastest land vehicle ever built is British and they're already building a new one to break that record.
British engineering actually has acivements to back it up, unlike other countries which stole their technology from other nations like the US after WW2.
@Helios Sphere British engineering is the best.
Wow but rubbish
@@Wanderer628 Yeah wouldn't talk about other countries stealing from Britain when we've literally stolen from almost every country out there.
4:00 Most hilarious moment of the season, followed by the one that tops it!

Titanic (Richard Hammond Edition)
I'd say it was 4:25
That Miami Vice -theme 😁
@ 05:47 "Come on you bitch"LOL!
you look like you don't work and you stack.
This perfectly displays their style/personality.
Hammond: creative concept, poor in execution
Clarkson: Overconfident, overpowered, and impractical.
James: Weird and novel, yet somehow functional
Who else loves how Hammond just films everything and is having a merry time. I also loved it when he and and James where stuck so Hammond walks outside and he's like *now did you say you wanted tea or coffee?* then James replies *tea please* who would've thought that the least of his problems was a sinking car that he had built...
But then again everything Hammond does it falls apart in the end😂😂
6:00 "You may have just overcooked it" Hammond knew at that moment
0:14 is my favourite Top Gear moment ever. Genuinely.
Oh yes, the use of the music is just brilliant (and again when Jeremy goes in).
@@JudyCZ what song is that?
@@brucehadley69 Jeremy's entry is definitely from Adagio from Spartacus composed by Aram Khachaturian. I'm not sure about James's but it's a very familiar tune.
@@JudyCZ thanks m8. Thats what I'm saying its familiar i just can't put a name on it
@@brucehadley69 Land of hope and glory! Took me like twenty minutes but I had to find it, since you called me mate... Happy new year, everybody!
Toybota flipping and both of them laughing their ass off is one of the best Top Gear moments. :D
"Can you give me a tow before you sink?"
"I however was about to launch into a world of issues"
lol
I miss old top gear. One of the best shows in the UK, if not the best. The best thing is that the laughter was genuine
This was my most favorite live-action cartoon ever
And the cars are great too.
And now the Toybota is in GTA.
Jarmo Verriet is it?
Mercurian Republic yeah the technical aqua

Have you heard area 11's new stuff?

LOL, James May!
I’ve never heard anyone say bitch in a less threatening way 😂
I miss watching this show with my Dad. This version of Top Gear was the most I ever cared about cars before or since.
Doesn't feel like it but damn this episode is old o: look at Jeremy's hair!!!! It's not completely grey!!!!!

"HMS Clarkson has capsized by the looks of things and that is fantastic!"
"Sailing: really boring!"
- James May / Captain Slow
Hammond's Van Boat is sinking.
Also Hammond: Want coffee or tea?
"If he drives out of that water I'm going to kill myself"
"Really?"
"Yeah"
"Fair enough"
That's perhaps my favourite series of dialogue I've heard
Hammond laughing while the Toyboata sinks always makes me smile... its a laugh of failed joy... or joyous failure...
"May: Can you give me a tow before you sink ?
Clarkson: No i can't give you a tow, i am leaking!"
He's leaking.....in Leek! XD
"Sailing... really boring!"
As a trained sailor, I can certify everything Captain Slow said.
Sailing ... Really boring until it is not. Extreme sailing is sailing in a storm.
@@loganshaw9198 or if you’re sailing on a slide
Action movie sailing is sailing on the one giant wave.
"It's moving!...i'm moving!...it's a boat!"

look at the bright side! at least they stopped uploading top gear usa videos
Indeed! I would rather have old boring originals than new stupid USA ones!
Evil Pumpkinman I know what you meant, Top Gear is not (and will never be) boring
Yeah, british top gear is better than american, its also more amusing (coming from an american)

nothing funnier than Richard sitting back laughing as they slowly capsize, i miss old top gear

“Do you want tea”. Well, I mean, tea time IS important.
7:51 Sailing ...... REALY BORING ^^ haha best one
He wasn't sailing but floating, thats why it was so boring😁
Nothing beats classic Top Gear.
This is THE classic challenge
Imagine how the person who has to collect the broken/damaged cars feels!
Someone: AW…..CMON….SERIOUSLY!
In this case slow and steady wins the race!
The bucket with holes at the bottom kills me everytime 😂
“I have a spare Outboard”
“You are joking”
“I _have_ “
Richard's laugh at the end is so damn contageous.
The Battle of Britain theme playing as Jeremy was motoring along in his truck-boat had me rolling!
If they only had FLEXTAPE.
Hammond laughs while sinking is hilarious 😂
One of the best episodes ever
Hands down, one of the best Top
Gear challenges ever. Also one of the first I saw.

Man I miss this Top Gear! I used to love watching it on Sunday evenings

One of the songs from Master and Commander
A navel movie set in 1805 where a hardy English captain leads his crew against French war vessels.
I like how the studio is using the song during the sinking of the van.
This is the first Top Gear video I've ever watched, I was hooked ever since
This is exactly why old top gear will always be better than new top gear
Now this is gold.
Love the old War movie Themes playing in the background
HMS Clarkson has capsized by the sounds of things, that is fantastic
One of the best at least for me moment from Top Gear ! GOLD
It been years since its gone, but I still miss top gear
Man, this looks fun. I have fun watching them have fun.
When Top Gear was still great
“If he drives out of the water im going to kill myself”
