15:11 You can see that 14 y/o Ale is nearly out of gas after playing 2 hours without a break, but she powers through like the pro she is. 😎👍
The Warning have Played at the Whisky A Go Go 4 Times, the first time was in Jan. Of 2018 they played a Half Hour Set there were like 6 bands playing that day and The Warning blew all of them out of the Water, I think this was the second time they played it was a Private Show in Jan. Of 2019, then in Jan. Of 2020 they played 2 Back To Back Sold Out Shows and I heard that they have an open invitation to play there any time they want
The last song in set. They say ale was exhausted after this.
This was the second time they had played the Whisky. A year earlier, they played a 30 minute set. This song was the encore of a 2+ hour show. This was a private show. A couple hundred of us rented out the venue, as a fundraiser for the band.
That's awesome.
Pau is not the oldest , she is the middle child . Dany , Pau , Ale in order of oldest to youngest
It's insane that they were playing the Whisky more than 4 years ago. Even today, Ale's still got more than 2 years to go before she reaches drinking age. Imagine being in their shoes, being in a position professionally, where you have to withdraw from school and finish up with alternative methods, because your full time job requires you to play gigs in another country, late at night, on school nights. 🤣 In one interview, they were discussing the fact that Ale was in 4th grade at the time they were recording an album and was missing classes because of that. It's a crazy world, but they made things work and oh boy, did they do great in life.
You can drink at 18 in Mexico
@@stuartlivingstone1265 Yeah - was speaking more about the US side, since the Whisky A Go-Go venue was in Hollywood, CA.
Check out the video called Metallica and The Warning Atlas Rise. It’s a mash of of both bands playing the song and they sound so close to the same.
It's on The Warning Russia channel.
This cover is better than the original, but I am biased. 😜
Dani was 18, Pau 16 and Ale 13. Noticed the Iron Spike hat, Iron Spike brew pub in Galesburg?
Yup yup. Don't get out there much but good food and beer.
@@BeardWizardMan Definitely good beer and food! I haven't been for awhile, I need to remedy that, soon.
At the time they were already well past the point of doing covers in their set. The reason they did this one was in celebration of someone's birthday. And it was the final song of their set.
The story goes that they learned the song in 4 days when it first came out. This was to be the last cover they would do, not wanting people to think of them as a cover band.
The story about the first time they played the Whiskey is that the manager or someone saw three teenage girls out on stage and said "there must be a mistake here...but rock is supposed to be fun, let them have their fun out there". 30 minutes later they were extended an open invitation to play whenever they wished.
Metallica may have a second guitar, but they don't have two lead singers. Ale helps out with the second guitar part, so Pau has more responsibility on the rhythm end while Ale's playing somewhat of a second guitar part. The adaptations that a three piece has to make to get a full sound, and they do it so well.
On another note, the most recent performances of Enter Sandman in Mexico have featured a small string ensemble joining in on Black Holes (which Pau played solo on piano) and Enter Sandman. Metallica's Enter Sandman with the SF Symphony Orchestra was all bombast, shades of maybe Shostakovich, while The Warning's was more of an intimate chamber work with a Classical period sound. Both are appropriate for the respective versions. I do enjoy orchestral music, but I prefer The Warning's version.
I believe this was the last time The Warning publicly played a cover ( other than the blacklist album remake of Enter Sandman).
IIRC for the original Cave version ( th-cam.com/video/ujrHJH3yovc/w-d-xo.html) they had just spent the week doing publicity for the release of their first album and decided to blow off some steam by learning Metallica's just released single, then they decided to make a video of it. Uploaded in March 2017 when they were 17-15-12.
They made a version of this same song in their cave, where the voices can be heard better through a better configured sound set. Brutal performance!
This was 2019. TW did not have their own audio engineer as they do now. I have seen Metallica’s video of this song. Except for the female voice, it is a faithful cover. When you listen to Metallica and close your eyes, you hear The Warning.
Literally any cover they have done when I ever hear the original I get dissapointed when I realise it is not The Warning.
Good job .. Metallica who? I liked the Black album.. I love The Warning.. Dany's the oldest. Pau the drummer is second oldest, Ale the youngest.. 🤟🎶☮️
Thanks for the reaction! Don’t know for sure, but I have heard reactors say Dany’s solo, in this song, has a Black Sabbath feel to it!!😊⚡️
Thank you for stopping in!
As one member of the teespicer clan said. Who needs two guitarist when you have 1 Dany. 🤘⚡️🤘
🤘⚠️super power trio ⚠️🤘
I enjoyed 🤘thanks!!
🤘🤘🤘
Ale's like 14 (and Dany is the oldest). The bass playing in this song is incredible (14!), often helping to make up for the lack of the second guitar. Dany does try to do that, but one can sneak in a thicker sound with the bass as well. My only gripe with this performance is the mix for Pau's mic (and perhaps would like more bass). There is a live studio version from their Cave setup that I prefer, but most seem to prefer this one. The studio one is a better mix, especially for Pau's lyrics, but also, IMO, for the bass.
And James Hetfield doesn’t send you flying kisses at the end of the song…
Maybe not you! ;p
I think that we can all agree that Pau sings better than Lars. 😂
Heh, for sure
IIRC when their original cave version dropped people were giving Lars shit saying Pau could play better than him even while she was singing.
The Warning!! 🔥 🤘
Great! Thanks Beard! Keeps a goin'!
Referring to entersandman , Metallica asked the warning to reimagine the song and second of all any decent band can do a straight cover , that’s a snooze fest , but re imagining a song and making it your own and doing a great job at it , now that’s worth listening too !
The instructions they got was to not do a straight cover. Originally, Metallica had invited Alessia Cara, a Grammy winning Canadian pop star. Alessia and The Warning share an international management company and when Alessia was a bit unsure of what to do one of the managers suggested a collaboration with The Warning. Alessia got permission to bring The Warning into the project and then the rearrangement was done to incorporate the pop sound of Alessia, the straight rock sound of The Warning and the nod to the metal sound of Metallica at the end. Additionally, from the time they were invited to the deadline for a finished product The Warning only had 10 days. Plus, this was during travel restrictions so the work had to be done with Alessia in Canada and The Warning in Mexico over video calls. They got it recorded and David Bendeth in New Jersey mixed it since he had just finished mixing the ERROR album with The Warning.
@@lonelywind3511 already knew all this . Everybody in the TWA knows this
@@hardknox1917 I meant it for the reactor but didn't want to start a new thread.
@@g.garcia7151 The Warning talked about the instructions to them being that Metallica did not want a straight cover. I don't know if other artists got the same instructions. I think it was general public but maybe it was patreon only.
Should check out one of the Gamazda covers. Will blow your mind.
The common problem with their live vocals has a lot to do with Paulina's headset mic. It's just not as close to her mouth as it should be for a drummer. Phil Collins had a headset mic that was about perfect for a drummer.
The Version from the Warning Cave with better sound.
Excellent my friend!!!
You do know Metallica asked The Warning to reimagine the song Enter Sandman for the new album. They liked it enough to place it first on the Black Album.
Yup
I think the better one is in The Warning Cave. The band is easier to hear each instrument. Cleaner.
The impressive things was that they are a 3 pieces band vs a song played by Metallica who were 5!!!
They took a so-so metal song and turned it into a great hard rocker.
My friend... The Warning and Michael Starr LIVE/Highway to Hell (Eric Moffat) please
I'll have to see if it's on one of their channels. Thanks for the suggestion.
De los excelentes covers de The Warning ,Atlas Rise , TW con este cover demuestran que son tan talentosas que pueden tocar hasta Metal ,el rock de TW es tan duro como el metal
Their new Enter Sandman ISN'T a cover, it is a revision. Metallic WANTED them to redo the songs from The Black Album, NOT to cover them. Get it straight!!🤨
Bammm!
Wow massive drumset ...they were so much better musically back then ...at least more technical not just pop rock ...its all good
🤘🤘
