Side Adjusters VS Belt Loops - Which one is right for you?

Today we explore two of the most common features of a tailored trouser waistband. Selecting between a side adjuster and a belt loop when making a custom pair of trousers is one of the more important details when creating a streamlined look.

While I like the look of pants with a belt, it is always a daunting task of find the correct, or sometimes near, match to my shoes.

As long as the belt compliments the shoe I think you are safe to wear them together!

Another option that Sartorial Talks in particular recommends is finding a belt that blends with the trouser. I do that on some of mine so I don't have a glaring line across the middle of my silhouette where the belt is very differently coloured from my trouser and my shirt.

@@SimonChambers I tend to like the separation that wearing a belt creates. Not to mention trying to find a belt to match the pants might be equally as challenging.

I do like the look of side adjusters, but the belt feels like it keeps my pants up better.

There is definitely a feeling of security when wearing a belt. That said to utilize a side adjuster the trouser waist needs to fit perfectly. We like to say a side adjuster is best used before and after meals
