This is a DIY how-to on replacing the window regulator/motor on a 2010-2015 5th Gen. Chevrolet Camaro. Removing the door panel is also outlined in the video.

Man, your video was so helpful! Took about 2 hours. Hardest parts were getting the glass back in and gluing the sound barrier back to the door.
I’ve done a lot of work on cars but never changed a window regulator. With the right tools and this video, it was a breeze.

Awesome video, rolled my window down 2015 camaro and heard a crash breaking sound. The window was down but wouldn't roll up. I pulled it up while holding down close button. Ordering the part now thanks man.

Thanks so much for the video. Made me a subscriber! I own a 2010 Camaro with RECENT occasional grinding window noise, esp in colder weather. I haven't used this car much, only has around 30K miles. So....I'm wondering if the noise is caused by something other than the regulator. Maybe the lack of raising and lowering windows? Or lubrication? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the comment! And I appreciate the subscription 🙏🙏🙏 but this is actually a friend of mine’s car, and I do maintenance/issues as they arise. IIRC He had a bit of grinding noise prior to this thing completely giving out. So in my opinion, it’s probably on its way out. His was around 70K. This is a known issue with these cars as well.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee thanks for the response, I was hoping there might be a quick simple temporary fix to extend the inevitable. I guess I'll stay away from windows as best I can for now 😒

Nice video, i’ll be doing this soon. How when putting the window glass back in did you have to apply hard pressure to get it to sit in? Also, could you tell me which radio dash kit you have? Thanks
I appreciate the comment! I don’t remember having to apply much pressure when re-installing the window. And the dash kit is the Metra 99-3028S

@@yeyoyeyo1819 i like Metra for the most part over any other brand when it comes to audio installation parts. This kit is a bit more involved than your typical dash kit, but it went seamlessly and seems to be pretty good as far as i see. This particular car didn’t retain the wheel controls, but you can with part #AXSWC steering wheel control interface
Hello, I have a problem on a Chevrolet Camaro. The right window does not move. It is fully retracted and it says calibration problem. I will change the motor and it will fix the same problem. pls help me am from georgia Tbilisi
You need to remove the door panel and see what’s going on behind there so you can figure out whats needed.
See if the cables are jammed or damaged or broken or as they were in the video. If they are…..Then you would need the entire regulator and motor, not just motor. If all the cabling is all intact and good, then you probably just need a motor.
But you need to get that door panel off to to see whats going on behind there so you can accurately diagnose what the issue is.

I have 2010 Camaro 5th gen and my keys got locked in car so I had to break my passenger window now shatter glass is inside the door when they replace my window at a glass shop will they take out the glass stuck in the door ?
Thats a subjective question really. Depends on shop and how good they are. Technically they should. But that’s something you would have to ask them. If i was doing it, I would vacuum the entire door out and make sure everything was out and probably the surrounding carpet area as well.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee yeah they should if there professional cause I did vacum the shatter glass but there still inside deep in door where the window goes so maybe they will help me take it out there is no vacum that can fit through the window area
@@andrescastorena9604 yea most definitely they should. But once the door panel is off and you got access in there, it should really be all accessible and able to be vacuumed up once it’s apart.
Question I put a new window regulator but it won’t go up it got stuck
There are multiple possibilities. What was the initial issue? Did you get a new motor with regulator? Is the motor engaging (can you hear it trying?)
@@TheOriginalBeeCee yeah I bought a new regulator assembly it was working the motor was engaging but it won’t go up it stuck at the bottom.
If the motor is engaging, then something with the window alignment has to be off. You need to pull the window out completely, make sure the motor and track go up and down, then re-install the window. There’s only so much that can be wrong, so you just need to get in there and mess with it.
Yeah one thing aswell motor won’t go up and down but the motor is engaging if that makes sense
Got ya. Make sure it moves fully without window installed. That way if its off track, it can be pin pointed. Also, could still be a defective motor even though its electrically engaging.
I put in a new regulator and it still won’t go up. It feels like it’s stuck on something🤦🏽♂️
Every regulator I saw for this car also came with the motor included, so I’m assuming you had a new motor with the regulator as well? Can you hear the motor engaging and trying to function when you hit the switch? You could take the window out of the door and engage the regulator and see if it moves and works without the window, that will help steer you in the right direction! Let me know what you find.
Yea I bought the whole set. Regulator and motor. I hear it engage when I plug it up. When I press the button to let it up or down it goes up a couple inches and back
There is no window. My car got broken Into. I have a replacement window but it isn’t going up for me to put the window in.
@@GIANTS941 damn man sorry to hear. I know im like two weeks late, but did you ever get it resolved? Possibly a defective part?
It was happening to me to. There is a square on the window bracket shaft. It slides into that an gets stuck when you put the window all the way down. I used a screw driver an put pressure on the window bracket that got stuck in the square as I press up on the window switch an it moved up.
CABLE BROKE WHY CANT WE CHANGE THE CABLE ?
