Ironically I just replaced my blend door yesterday, I was dreading it but come to find out someone replaced it before doing the method of cutting into the side so I was able to replace it within 2 hours.
This happens by twisting the temp knob too far in one direction so the door breaks off. The faster cheap way is to cut it out from the drivers side and remove it. Mins is currently out but i never use my AC unless i have people in my car and luckily the passenger side blows cold air when needed. Once you fix it try not to turn it all the way to one direction
It has nothing to do with the temp knob. It happens over time because the heater core is way too close to the blend door. Over time the heat makes the plastic get brittle and weaken, eventually it breaks. It's a poor design from Chevy.
@trevisboyd3243 it does have to do with the knob. It snaps off when the door I'd turning too far one direction. I've seen how it works cause I have the same issue
I am so glad I found this video! Just this week I started to notice how the side vents are blowing cold-ish air, but the middle vents are blowing hot air in my ZL1. I am going to check the blend door on mine this weekend. I would hate to find out later that it one of these issues, and I could’ve checked them out before taking it to the repair shop and paying way more than necessary. I’m saving this one for sure. Thanks
@@josedaniel-mu5le tbh i still haven't checked on it or bothered fixing it lol. I heard in order to fix it you need to remove the entire dash. Or you can cut a piece of the dash where the blender door is located and then just silicone it back. There is a YT tutorial last time I checked but it still hasn't bothered me enough to fix it; I mostly drive myself so.
I noticed instantly that the blend door was broke. It is the typical break. I have done 16 of these camaros now and have heard many symptoms the owners have complained about. Your symptom is one I have heard a couple times.
The man, the myth and the LEGEND! I've see your videos on the procedure! You are god sent (I mean this in the most respectable way possible). Thank you for commenting and for your videos.
Im up north.. 2015 im at 56k...My blend door went out at 12k and 24k. Both done under warranty at dealer. Just went out for the 3rd time at 55k. I dont use the ac much so its the heat i use mostly. When the blend door goes out, when its cold out, i have no heat. This has happened on too many orher camaros for this not to be a class action lawsuit. I worked my ass off for my 2015, ive never been able to enjoy the heat in 8 years. A basic function of heat or ac i guess we cant have. Im over it, i use toe and hand warmers wear 10 layers. Ive been watching this subject for about 6 years or so, it has happened alot, seems every 5th gen has blend door issues.
Haci only have a little over 30k on my 2011 ss2 had to replace the resistor for the climate control system but I'm noticing I'm getting air in the cabin somewhere which is causing moisture on the inside of the windows. Any thoughts?
Hi Aaron, the link I put in the description is the one I got and the specific one I used to put in the hole where the sensor goes. I'm not sure of the exact measurements. But it fitted perfectly.

Honestly i think it can be intermittent. Mines crapped out but the otherday i got some AC and was so thankful

@@anthonymurray3016 But that's caused from the heater core, weakening the plastic. Not the knob. Eventually it snaps when it's turned on yes.

Glad you find it helpful man! There's a guy here on TH-cam that shows how to fix it too! Take care
When I bought my 5th gen I was told it had a broken blend door. Cold air comes out of the 2 driver side vents but the passenger vents come out hot.
Was the blend door?
was it the door?

Did you ever end up replacing the blend door issue or did you sell the car as it was???
I also have this problem on my car I would appreciate it if you do a video on it when you fix it without removing the dashboard ❤
check out 737 mechanic, he is basically the MAN for this.
Thanks man appreciate it
I got driver side air hot and passanger side cold think its the blend door?

Holy crap man, multiple failures is absurd! I hang out in florida alot, so AC is a must...
Haha i knew it was gonna be this. I just live without it. California weather. Im kinda spoiled
I’m dying, in CA 103°-109° like it’s normal 🫠🫠🫠
I always turn my A/c off when im not in the car..... not sure if that helps tho.... ive only had my 15 1ss for like a 1yr and couple months....
So I’m getting warm air on driver side and cold air on passenger side. Is there different channels or just one? Not sure what my issue is
I got this same issue just backwards

That's a big rip... Hope its not too bad!
Send prayers to my gofundme lol
What size bore scope did I need? I'd hate to buy one that's too big.

They asked me 3000 plus and fix it under 30 dollars plus 5 hours of labor
Bro this AC thing is getting crazy 😮
