Just bought an Acer Nitro 5 with lower specs than the one you have. I love it so far. Looks spectacular and performs great at it price. Don't game often at all, but it's great to know that should ever do, it'll do the job!

Also I wanna ask, Compared to the Nitro 5 Running on an i5 9th gen (the one in this video) processor and a Nitro 5 with a Ryzen 5 2500U (The one available in my area). What exactly am I going to loose in terms of preformance?
Thanks! I don't think I've ever tested a 2500u, but considering its last gen, and even a last gen i5 beats the best current ryzen 7 3750h, it will probably demolish it.

I got this laptop i7 9th, gtx 1650, 1tb, 256gb ssd model for ₹73k ie $1.05k. How is the charging speed?
Thanks! To be honest I have never measured charging speed, so I can't answer that one, sorry.

@@boomerang0101 go for predator helios 300 if you can as it is factory undervolted so much better thermals than my nitro 5 or else rog is also good as it has dual fans one for cpu and gpu, much better than my nitro 5 design

@@boomerang0101 I don't think you'll be able to run most of the latest AAA titles in medium setting with 50fps on the tuf as I'm getting 50fps on medium with my acer nitro 5 with gtx 1650.
But, if you are anyways going to change your laptop then tuf is much better value for you than others.

btw mine was able to overclock to 90 hz so i dont know whats up with that, i think its just the model I got that I was able to do this on
Thanks! Yeah it seems like they use different panels in them, if you use HWInfo you can check the panel model and see if it's the same one I have or something else. Although even if it is the same, results will still vary between panels too.
@@JarrodsTech my monitor is the au optronics b156HW02 according to it, im not sure if it even is the same monitor as linus but i managed to overclock it to 90 hz with my model being the AN515-54-51M5
Yeah I talk about my overclock failure in this video and mention the 90hz Linus got however he had a different panel to me

I'm getting Predator Helios 300 with i5-8300H and GTX 1050Ti for $1,023.75
and Nitro 7 with i5-9300H and GTX 1650 for $981.72
and Nitro 5 with i5-8300H and GTX 1050Ti for $799.26
Which one should I buy? So confused :/
Might as well get the cheaper $800 Nitro 5 it will perform similarly to the Helios 300 with same specs. Not sure on the difference between 1650 and 1050 Ti just yet so hard to answer that one.

Unfortunately I cannot get it at the moment. They are based in the US and I'm in Australia, and return shipping costs a fair bit of money for me to borrow it. It will likely be available here rebranded by some other company I suspect, then it may be possible. Otherwise if Eluktronics are happy to cover the cost of sending it here I am more than happy to test it out on the channel.

No DP = No Buy for me, laptop, especially gaming laptops these days, SHOULD HAVE DP or Mini DP or Thunderbolt Three Ports for External Displays!

Nice review! Buying it with i5 9300h paired with gtx 1660 ti will maybe improve thermals. While on the other hand, with your current specs and simple tweaks, I see that its ahead of Helios 300 and Legion Y540 on your custom benchmark. Nice! Congrats on 100k!

the nice thing about the heatpipes being shared is that if one game is more cpu intensive or gpu intensive you can get max performance

It's good for me cuz I don't need to carry around, but it's kinda heavy and the battery isn't the best that's why i play while changing, and most models get super hot but I made some changes and it runs super cool now with good performance and if prefer themed performance which makes windows look a bit ugly but makes it run super fast

What's your general advice regarding this matter should I go with this config?
I don't think there is that much difference between the 1660 Ti and 2060 in most laptops, that is probably more so the case with a Ryzen CPU unless you are actually playing at max settings so the GPU power can stretch its legs.

Shift and the key with it labelled should work, honestly not sure what else if that is not the case. Could use on screen keyboard in the meanwhile if you need it while troubleshooting

Y540 for me, for the reasons in the conclusion of my Y540 vs Helios 300 video. Basically less "gamer" look, cheap in my country compared to the competition, performs better than Helios once you mod it.

Any opinions on the lower model with amd ryzen 5 3550h and gtx 1650?. Which one would you recommend to buy, nitro 5 or tuf fx505dt.? Both have ryzen 5 and gtx 1650. Im really confused on which one to buy.

Since we are in September already, I suppose there isn't many new gaming laptops to come out this year, there are no new gpus announced right now, and the next intel CPUs are intended for ultrabooks types. Then I think you should do a roundup, comparing all 2019 laptops and placing them on a few rankings: performance, thermals, price, battery life, etc. Then chose a few to be the winners of the year. What do you say?
Thanks! Probably not much new other than 10th gen U/Y series CPU based machines, however I still have a lot to work through over here haha. Oh I think the Aorus 17 I saw at Computex is meant to be soonish, but not sure. I will do that sort of video nearer towards the end of the year, for now though I've still got quite a few models here to test!
Watching this on my Nitro 5. The screen is amazing. Cpu gets hot. But you can keep it in check via the Nitro sense software. I don't like the speaker though. Could be better. I have upgraded my unit to 20 gb of ram. Performance is fantastic. It's amazing what you can get today for not a lot of money!

Hey Jarrod, I need your insight on this as this will be an important investment for me.
Should I get this nitro 5 or lenovo l340? They basically have the same specs (i5 9th gen, 1650)
The only difference between the two is how the nitro 5 has 12 gb ram with only 1TB HDD (no SSD)
While the l340 has 8gb ram with 1TB HDD and 250 SSD
I honestly don't know which to pick between the two, and these two are the only ones with the highest specs in my budget range.
This, higher CPU power limit, dual channel memory and fan control.

L340 is pretty awful, go for nitro 5. You can throw in an ssd anytime later on.
