    My dog had a very sensitive tummy, and we learned the hard way that even certain brands of dog treats really blew up his system. So I understand that one should ALWAYS ask permission before feeding someone else's animals. You don't want to end up being responsible for making someone else's pet sick, or even killing them. You'd be amazed how expensive some animals are!

      Not just cheap- also stupid. Could've been legal about it and still saved himself some cash both with the old WiFi and the new one if he'd approached the respective owners to offer to pay the connection halfsies with them. Landlord would've possibly agreed because he wasn't using his internet at all most of the time, and OP has already stated being fine with sharing the connection he got. I have no problem with it because the kids also need to learn to respect others. It would be different if the parents were feeding the dogs, and OP didn't give cupcakes to the kids, but since it's the kids themselves doing it, this is the best way to teach them how causing trouble for others has consequences.

    • @nixxyhasthoughts

      It’s like the dad actually told the kids to focus on OP and their dogs - repeatedly following them around. The kids still did it and at 7 they have some skill at reading social cues. I know it’s not fun to be excluded they are also not entitled to other people’s food.

    • @charlayned
      @charlayned ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Yeah, if the kids were trying to feed my Shelties, there would be a huge problem, including getting the police involved. It's not Karen behavior to tell someone to stop interfering in your life, and feeding your dogs is interference. Thing is, if my kids were doing that, I would expect the other lady to bring candy and soda for MY kids and when dad told me to stop, I'ld tell him to go get a social life, I can feed his kids anything I want. Lots of Mountain Dew and Chocolate. Skittles. And everything else. It's the same freakin' thing. My dogs are my fur-babies (all my kids are grown, 5 of my 9 grandkids are adults and all but 2 live out of town and I miss all of them) and I lavish lots of love on them, but they are proper treats and done when I'm not going to interfere with anyone else's dog.
      And an owner doesn't know if there's not poison in those "treats" the kids are feeding the dogs. Or botulism, which is just as deadly for dogs--left over food might just be tainted.
      And...why are those kids at a dog park anyway? If they don't have a dog there, they should be playing elsewhere.😡😤😲

    Last story, I knew of someone that fed KIDS this way.
    Some A-hole that threw hard candy near a highschool, the way you throw crumbs at pigeons. The younger kids had enough sense to not take a stranger's candy from the floor, but the seniors were picking it up like someone busted a piñata. The school staff told the guy multiple times to stop doing that and he would say that he was outside, he can do whatever he wants, he pays taxes, seeing the kids taking the candy made him happy, etc. He also had some sob story, something like he 'promised his dead daughter that he would share candy with kids'. It was New Year's Eve. My cousin (cousin A) and his family, along with another cousin (cousin B), came to spend the night with my family. After the fireworks, cousin B and I went for a walk at the beach with cousin A and his buddies.
    By 3 AM, the cousin A and the buddies had had quite a few drinks (I don't drink and cousin B is a minor), while cousin B and I were tired and wanted to go home. I lent cousin A my house's key so he wouldn't wake everyone up when he came back, and made my way home with cousin B. People were still awake by that point, and I explained the situation. We all went to sleep.
    By 7 AM, the doorbell rang loudly, waking up the whole house. It was cousin A, wet from the waist down and with sand all over him. Apparently he entered the sea fully clothed and passed out on the sand before finally coming home. When I questioned him later why he didn't use the key, he had the audacity to say that I never gave it to him, and that I was imagining things!
    Everyone was pissed at cousin A for waking them up that early and leaving sand all over the house, and after that incident, he was banned from spending New Year with us. Oh, and the key? His mother found it in his wallet YEARS later. He put it there and completely forgot about it. 🤦‍♂

    • @ShakaarGaleed
      @ShakaarGaleed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on the jurisdiction, officers searching someone's home with a warrant (which has to be specific as to what they're looking for), anything else they discover has to have a separate warrant. Nothing to prevent them from hanging around close by to make it exponentially more difficult to get rid of anything illegal from your home. In any case, he was on a cruise ship, him hiding the purse at home would be nigh impossible while aboard ship. So, the police searching his home would be pointless, and the warrant to search would (or, at least, SHOULD, considering corruption) also be nearly impossible. They would search him and his cabin and that's it.
      This is assuming American jurisdiction. If in international waters, the Captain's word is law. If in another country's territory, their laws hold sway.

    We had a lady who used to come into our backyard and feed our dog. She had some story about how her dog liked to visit and play with him, okay whatever. He lived outside because he liked it, and never gained weight because he didn't typically overeat, and I think he was part pointer (which is a very lean breed). So not only did our dog start vomiting up the food she left or leaving it to rot, the lady also constantly left trash from the food in our yard. We got complaints from the city threatening fines if we didn't clean it up (not an HOA, the city). We initially told her she needed to clean up after herself or leave it in his food bowl. That lasted maybe two days? Once we got a second warning from the city my mom told her to stop, and the conversation (over text) got a bit heated. Basically the lady was calling my mom a terrible person for not wanting her to feed our dog and that he was being neglected since he lived outside (she called animal control on us once who inspected his outdoor setup and told us it was one of the best they'd ever seen). We didn't want take him back inside because he was so much happier outside, he would've been a great farm dog.
    Anyways, the ending to this: my mom was upset and stressed about everything going on with the crazy dog lady, so my dad looked through the texts and decided he was going to respond. The gist of what he sent was "don't you ever talk to my wife that way again, and if we ever catch you or find evidence that you were in our backyard we will trespass you" and fortunately she stopped feeding him

    Animal Abuse for feeding animals without the Owner's permission - one of these days they're going to give an animal something that's not good for it or it's allergic to and make it sick or kill it...
    Child Endangerment because he's encouraging his kids to approach unknown animals and that is going to get them hurt one of these days either the animal is going to attack or the Owner is going to hurt them to protect their pet...someone like me for example - you do something that I think (or know) is going to hurt my dog and I'll tell you once to not do that, if you do it anyway, I WILL Bitch-Slap the Unholy, Howling HELL out of you with my metal cane to protect them...whether you're 5 or 50, it makes no difference to me, my Furbaby's Health and Safety is INFINITELY more important to me that you are...

    On the last story, NTA for OP. The kids are not blameless either. They are learning from their father. So, by extension, the kids also need to learn the hard lesson as well to realize that maybe their Dad isn't right in this situation. The Dad is actually teaching his kids to be "Karens."

    The individual that owns the three dogs is not a problem in this story. It’s the man who thinks it is fine to have him and his children poison the dog and the ducks.
    If that man does, it understands the concept, then he should not be allowed to even come to the dog park

    Story 1: One time at a McDonald's I was accidentally given someone else's order. It was a Big Mac with extra sauce. And I can officially confirm that anyone who orders a Big Mac with extra sauce is a monster.

    Last Story - OP was doing it wrong. Should have brought extra sugary cupcakes and fed them all to his kids. Get them super pumped up on sugar and maybe some caffeine, then send them home with Dad. See how he likes it when the kids eat too much sugar and stop to puke and poop all over the place!

    Last story: Dogs aside, A-hole or not, that food is OPs to distribute as he sees fit. The idiot dog owner and kids have no right to demand some of it; in fact, I would call them the a-holes in this situation for doing so.

    Last story -- the scrap feeder is the A hole. He is teaching his children to be disrespectful of others . He could end up poisoning someone's dog. He is feeding scraps which aren't good for dogs. He is being rude and teaching his children to be rude as well. I have a GSD with allergies and a sensitive stomach so I understand OP'S concerns. I'd get the guy banned from the park or at the very least searched before he comes in.

    How that one server acted in that cruise story could have resulted in him being fired. He may have been nervous about being arrested, but his outburst to that Karen could have ended badly for him.
    The guy who kept calm and let the process run its course, knew he didn't take the woman's purse so there was no reason to be anxious even if the police were called. Had she called the police, they would have viewed the security tapes just like the ship security did.

    Gah. I took some quail eggs to the local dog park to see if anyone wanted them, but I never fed any to anyone's dog! Oh, wait. I gave one to a dog whose owner specifically gave me permission. You don't feed someone's dog without permission any more than you feed someone's kid without permission. "Here, kid, want a peanut butter sandwich?" Kid: "Yeah!"

    If anyone is curious about the amount of food and specificity of the order, the mom was trading food for drugs. I have seen this several times with people helping "homeless" people with a bite to eat. Watched one get arrested by and undercover after trying to trade a 20 piece and fries for a hit.
